Democrats Demand Equal Rights Amendment
(ERA) to Eliminate Women

Original Article

The ERA was once the great white hope of feminists. Now the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) is the great hope of those who want to eliminate the ladies’ room, women’s sports, and women. A coalition of more than 100 lawmakers wrote a letter on Sunday urging President Biden to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), which would outlaw gender discrimination in the Constitution. “We must continue our efforts to fully affirm and recognize the equality of rights for all people, regardless of sex, as part of our Constitution, a vital effort that has never been more urgent,” Congress members penned. “People”. Not women. Which people do they mean? Men in dresses.

Drive a stake through the evil heart of that ERA craziness. End it. Women and men are different, and not 'equal'. For example, no man can ever have a baby, regardless of the insane, nonsensical things that the leftist loons say. No woman is going to play linebacker in professional football. Stop this ERA nonsense.

Sure. Ratify an amendment that does not meet the requirements for ratification. It will be overturned.

Well, it appears at least 100 members of Congress have not read Const. Art. V, which provides that 2/3 of Congress may propose and 3/4 of the state legislatures (or constitutional conventions) must ratify amendments, not the President. Of course, Biden has proven again that he has not read the Constitution since law school, and remembers nothing he learned there, so he may sign some kind of embarrassing executive order.

I don't think enough states voted for the ERA in order for it to become an amendment to the Constitution. Last I saw, the ERA was about three states short.

It's a moot point, not that libtards understand or have any respect for that. The ERA died when its expiration date of 30 June 1982 came and went without the amendment being ratified. Any ratification by a state after that date is invalid and irrelevant. They're free to try again by starting from scratch if they so choose, but good luck with that. That ship has sailed.

Like most demoncraps I am not an authority on The Constitution. But I believe that it is the States that ratify proposed Congressional Amendments. Not the occupant of the White House. Plus the time limit has past. It isn't necessary or even makes sense. What else is new?

I sure hope the RNC works to ensure the public is aware that 100 members of Congress don't know how the Constitution works and that he original ERA enactment schedule expired June 30, 1982. As others have posted, they can try again but not likely to gain the traction if it's "people" instead of woman like the original amendment was drafted. I doubt that type of change would even be allowed to be grandfathered in as it's such a material change that many State Legislatures would not approve.

A new Civil War? 3 replies

There have been numerous predictions of a looming Second American Civil War. It should be noted, however, that regardless of the ideological chasm dividing America, modernity (economics, goods, services, and infrastructure) binds the factions tightly together. In 2023, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the United States was worth 27,360, 94 million U.S. dollars, according to data from the World Bank. The factions are accustomed to nearly on-demand access to goods and services. Both factions utilize a thoroughly integrated, embedded delivery infrastructure for both. Just how integrated? Freight, facts and figures from the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics puts it in context.

When I wrote on Judge Juan Merchan's ruling regarding the presidential immunity issue in relation to the Manhattan criminal trial against President-elect Donald Trump over falsified business records, I began with: "We knew the ruling would be coming at some point." In similar fashion, I can add: We knew the response from Trump would be swift — and likely sharp. And so it is. The president-elect took to Truth Social Tuesday morning to let his thoughts on the ruling be known, and zero punches were pulled: (Snip) Safe to say Trump will be appealing Merchan's ruling — and neither will be receiving a Christmas card from the other.

Judge Juan Merchan on Monday rejected a request from Trump’s attorneys to dismiss charges brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, citing claims of presidential immunity, Fox News reports. The decision follows a July motion by Trump and his legal team asking Merchan to overturn his guilty verdict in New York v. Trump. They argued that the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity for official acts should apply. However, Merchan ruled that the trial evidence pertained "entirely to unofficial conduct and, thus, receive no immunity protections."
