You probably knew it was coming.
President Donald Trump -- the master of trolling -- would have a good response to Joe Biden calling Trump supporters "garbage." Indeed, he did, sitting in a garbage truck on Wednesday, calling out Biden for insulting millions of Americans and having a lot of fun in the process.
He already showed he has a talent for this with his McDonald's success. That was about serving the people.
This time it's about cleaning up Washington. What a great symbolic move it is. How great was it? CNN even had to cut away to cover it, rather than talking about Kamala Harris.

Wednesday afternoon, I participated in an "election integrity call" hosted by the RNC and the Trump campaign. Karoline Leavitt, National Press Secretary for the Trump campaign, spoke first. She explained that they were hosting the call to discuss massive victories in both Pennsylvania and Virginia today.
They also wanted to describe the ongoing fight by the RNC and the campaign to ensure free and fair elections. Leavitt referenced the Trump supporter who was arrested in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, on Monday and the voters turned away in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday. She also noted that they had just won the Bucks County suit 30

The Donald Trump Campaign and the Pennsylvania GOP won a huge victory today in their efforts to force the Bucks County, Pennsylvania, government to permit voters to request mail-in ballots in person.
The campaign filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, documenting how county officials broke state law and turned away voters hours before the deadline (see Trump Campaign Suing Over Voter Suppression in Major Swing State). This was after video surfaced of a police officer and skeevy individuals, some later identified as local Democrat activists, wearing "Voter Protection" badges but with no visible identification credentials shutting down the line at 1:45 p.m.

The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched the 2024 World Series on Wednesday with a 7-6 victory over the New York Yankees in the Bronx, finishing off a impressive display in the matchup between the two biggest-market and star-laden teams in baseball. The 4-games-to-1 victory in the best-of-seven series is the Dodgers franchise’s eighth World Series title, the second in five years and the first since the pandemic-impacted 2020 season. The Dodgers before that hadn’t won Major League Baseball’s Fall Classic since 1988 and before that 1981, when they beat the Yankees. The Dodgers did it in dramatic fashion tonight, coming back from a 5-0 deficit after three innings against

Joe Biden narrowly won Nevada in 2020 by just over 30,000 votes. The state has strong union support for Democrats but anyone expecting a clear Harris victory there this year might be in for a surprise. Hometown reporter Jon Ralston estimates that about 60% of the vote in the state is already in and so far Republicans have a big advantage.
We are at 790,000 ballots recorded, or 39 percent of registered voters. So I’d guess about 60 percent of the vote is in, maybe a little less. We are going to get at least 75 percent of the vote in before Election Day and maybe as much as 90 percent

A pro-Trump internet ad now running in the swing states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin focuses on Macalester College professor Brian Lozenski, the Tim Walz education appointee who calls for the overthrow of the United States.
The ad plays video of Lozenski describing the United States as “irreversibly racist” and calling for America’s overthrow. It finishes by noting that Walz’s education expertise was one of the reasons Harris selected him as her running mate. The ad was paid for by Restoration PAC.
I broke the story of Lozenski’s call for the overthrow of the U.S. here at National Review Online about a month ago.

On the 29th of July, a 17-year-old 'boy' armed with a machete slaughtered three young girls who had gathered, with fellow 6-to-11-year-olds, for a girlie afternoon of Taylor Swift-themed yoga, dance, and drawing.
In the aftermath, the carnage count included, besides their precious little lives, eight other children and two adults who'd been horribly injured during the attack.
Police were tight-lipped on the assailant, citing his age. But locals had a suspicion and started demanding answers as the shock wore off and outraged horror replaced it.
Starmer immediately made appropriate vanilla 'thoughts and prayers' noises but both the government and Mercyside Police

Well, well, well. Perhaps the Protection Racket Media has had enough of Joe Biden, too. Or at least enough of kowtowing to a clearly inept White House.
On the other hand, Tony Dokoupil has a track record of getting in trouble for asking fact-based questions. Will this land Dokoupil into another progressive struggle session at CBS News? It's too late for Tim Walz, who had to do the first shift of Biden cleanup this morning.
Trump's campaign gleefully clipped the very first question out of the gate from Dokoupil:

The Justice Department is disputing the notion that the audio from President Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur is the subject of significant public interest.
In a court filing Monday, the Justice Department argued against expediting the release of audio recordings of Hur’s interview with Biden. Hur conducted a two-day long interview with the president last October for his investigation into whether Biden mishandled classified documents.
“The motion to expedite should also be denied because it is based on an inaccurate premise: that expedition is warranted because of the public’s interest in President Biden’s conduct during a law enforcement interview,”

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Donald Trump’s campaign filed a lawsuit in Pennsylvania on Wednesday in hopes of briefly extending an in-person voting option in one suburban Philadelphia county where long lines on the final day spurred complaints that voters were being disenfranchised by an unprepared election office.
The lawsuit, filed in the heavily populated Bucks County, comes amid a flurry of litigation and complaints over voting in a battleground state that is expected to play a central role in helping select the next president in 2024’s election.
The lawsuit seeks a one-day extension, through Wednesday at 5 p.m., for voters to apply in-person for a mail-in ballot.

There is an old axiom of life - Never whiz into the wind. Things gets kind of messy when you do. In radio, that's especially true. It's possible on occasion to create an alternative narrative on a day when there's only one overarching, dominating story. But honestly, it rarely works. And if you aren't talking about the things your audience is focused on, they tune you out.
Last night on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C., the left-wing of the cross making up the National Mall, with the White House as the backdrop behind her, Vice-President Kamala Harris made her last stand. It was her closing argument. Her final pitch

Well ... that was certainly an honest closing argument last night, at least from Joe Biden. No pussyfooting around here. As his VP tried to offer her own closing argument by [checks notes] regurgitating her oft-delivered attacks on Donald Trump, the President of the United States made sure everyone knows how he feels about half the country, as John reported last night.
Somehow, "basket of deplorables" sounds almost quaint in comparison, no? NBC's White House correspondent heard it accurately and reported it first: Well, well, well. Democrats considered it a National Outrage and a High Crime to have an insult comic call an island "garbage."
