The venerable Washington Post may or may not have been a force for good, but it certainly was great.
They brought down Richard Nixon for crimes that were only modest by today’s inflated standards but serious at the time. They helped lose the Vietnam War – a war that was criminal, or just, depending on your view of history, but the losing of which was certainly a tragedy for the conquered South Vietnamese and most of the rest of the world.
They won the Pulitzer Prize 76 times, and many of those times were back when the Prize rewarded true excellence.

Wow, that's a novel idea. Seems to me I learned that in high school. Journalism 101 class of 1969. Reporting the news isn't exactly a new idea. It was lost along with a hell of a lot of other journalistic aims to inform the public with the truth.

So, with a simple non endorsement it looks like Bezos will help reduce the $77 million loss from The Post in short order.
Many of those high-paying, group-think hacks may find it difficult to find anything close to those salaries.

Are the people cancelling their subscriptions because the Washington Post might report news and post editorials that they disagree with from now on, or because they are mad that they don't know who to vote for now that the Post isn't directing them? Are they afraid that they will lose their liberal talking points and be forced to think for themselves; or worse yet, hear different viewpoints? Liberals are cowards, afraid of ideas that do not match their own.

No wonder propaganda works so well. So many low IQ dummies prefer it to the truth.

Good move by Bezos. Now the people that have been causing the paper to lose money have self identified.

Many of these staffers have a right to complain. They were hired with the instruction to always support the Democrat position and always trash Republicans. It is in their contract.

Bezos' knows he might have to make nice with Trump. And that is why he is worth
$200 billion and you are not.

Who cares? As if any thinking person would ever read or believe the WaPoo.

Shocking their employees and subscribers who were CERTAIN that the job was to pump leftist propaganda, and to hell with whatever this "news" stuff is.

Let all those staffers quit. Then maybe Bezos will hire some REAL journalists.

A necessary purge of sorts. But it's also a massive dispersal of spores into the press at-large.

The Post's Downward Spiral started with Kathryn Graham, Owner and Ben Bradlee her Editor-in-Chief, both "Hardcore" lefties who cared not a whit about Truth and Honor. It was the very same for the Newscaster Anchors at NBC, ABC, and especially CBS. Walter Cronkite reveled in showing the horrendous videos of what was happening in Viet Nam, whether or not perpetrated by America or the North Communists. He was also the mentor of "Lying Dan Rather".

The best thing about retirement from government service, the best, was not having to read the Washington Post every day. I have not read it one time in 20 years.

Fat chance that the Compost will change. Back in 2016, after being gobsmacked by Hillary’s defeat, the owner of the NY Slimes declared that he would make his newspaper more balanced. How did that work out?

Well...I'm shocked that the Wapo had so many wokies on staff....not really...let these disgruntled staffers get a real job...they could go over to the New York slims and I'm sure they will be received with open arms...my guess is that they will never leave the Wapo...it's just a bluff...and a way to get a narrative going.....I'll believe this story...when I see the staffers picketing out front of Wapo...and 200,000 subscriptions cancelled.....

"Staffers quit and 200,000 subscribers cancel..."
Those "subscribers" are probably "bots" created by the Feds to pump much needed revenue from the the Treasury into the WaPo, NYT, LAT, ATLC, etc.
Losing the staffers is certainly a good start.

If Jeff Bezos really wants to shift the focus of the WP, this is the perfect opportunity. Plenty of conservative journalists would love to contribute.

I'm sure those staffers will have no trouble finding a new job with all the newspapers that are currently hiring ...
