The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that Virginia is entitled to remove noncitizen aliens from its voter rolls, siding with the commonwealth over lower courts less than a week out from the election. The order comes two days after Virginia attorney general Jason Miyares filed an emergency application, requesting that the Court stay an injunction that ordered Virginia to restore some 1,600 suspected noncitizens who are ineligible to vote to the state’s voter rolls. A federal appeals court upheld the injunction on Sunday, quickly prompting the attorney general to appeal to the Supreme Court.

A new poll has found that former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are essentially tied among voters in the battleground state of Michigan.
The Washington Post poll of 1,004 registered voters reveals that Trump is leading Harris there 47% to 45%. Among that group, those who said they were likely to vote for Harris over Trump 47%-46%.
The poll was conducted Oct. 24-28 and has a margin of error of 3.7%. Of those who responded, six out of every 10 voters view the state of the economy negatively, according to The Washington Post.

After years of watching trust in the news media slide down so much that POLITICIANS are now more trusted than journalists, it is dawning on executives and some journalists that people dislike them...they really really dislike them.
But they don't yet understand why. They see the distrust of Americans as an indictment of Americans. We are irredeemable, deplorable, Nazis, and garbage. That sentiment is not directed merely at Trump supporters; it's aimed at every dissenting voice regardless of ideology. Twenty-eight hours. That's all it took to turn around a one-minute campaign ad for Donald Trump after Joe Biden's weird intervention on Tuesday. While Trump himself had all sorts of fun yesterday flipping Biden's script on his supporters being "garbage," his new campaign spot hammers both Biden and Kamala Harris for their campaign of "hate" against the American people.

Thus far, we've avoided focusing on single polls in the presidential election. Having been burned by that approach in the past, we have instead watched trends across aggregated poll data to ensure we don't get ahead of our skis.
The Quinnipiac poll released late yesterday justifies an exception. First, we're coming down to final iterations in the closing days of the campaign, where pollsters presumably will do their best to ensure accuracy compared to the election outcomes. And second, this is the first time Quinnipiac has shown Donald Trump with a lead -- any lead -- in Pennsylvania (hat tip to A.W. Guerra in Thursday's Wednesday's Final Word):

President Donald Trump -- the master of trolling -- would have a good response to Joe Biden calling Trump supporters "garbage." Indeed, he did, sitting in a garbage truck on Wednesday, calling out Biden for insulting millions of Americans and having a lot of fun in the process.
He already showed he has a talent for this with his McDonald's success. That was about serving the people.
This time it's about cleaning up Washington. What a great symbolic move it is. How great was it? CNN even had to cut away to cover it, rather than talking about Kamala Harris.

Wednesday afternoon, I participated in an "election integrity call" hosted by the RNC and the Trump campaign. Karoline Leavitt, National Press Secretary for the Trump campaign, spoke first. She explained that they were hosting the call to discuss massive victories in both Pennsylvania and Virginia today.
They also wanted to describe the ongoing fight by the RNC and the campaign to ensure free and fair elections. Joe Biden narrowly won Nevada in 2020 by just over 30,000 votes. The state has strong union support for Democrats but anyone expecting a clear Harris victory there this year might be in for a surprise. Hometown reporter Jon Ralston estimates that about 60% of the vote in the state is already in and so far Republicans have a big advantage.

A pro-Trump internet ad now running in the swing states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin focuses on Macalester College professor Brian Lozenski, the Tim Walz education appointee who calls for the overthrow of the United States.
The ad plays video of Lozenski describing the United States as “irreversibly racist” and calling for America’s overthrow. It finishes by noting that Walz’s education expertise was one of the reasons Harris selected him as her running mate. The ad was paid for by Restoration PAC.
