Medicare has always had the power to negotiate with Big Pharma. They choose not to because donations to democrats would suffer. Now that illegal aliens are going on Medicare, the system will collapse.

My eye drops used to cost me $140 for three months. My eye doc switched me to a different type after eye surgery. But two years later, she put me back to the old one....but noted that now the patents had run out and generic was available. So, I go to fill the prescription and the cost is $180 for one month. I asked if they had the generic.......but this was the generic. I inquired about the brand name......now $756 for three months. MASSIVE ZAZA price increases. This drug is not covered by any drug plan.

It's not just the drug costs. Aetna has dropped out of the Medicare Advantage Plans in all areas because the changes in the "inflation reduction act" forced them to. My carrier Humana went from a max out of pocket of $5900 to $9300 next year. There was no deductible for any drugs. Now Tier 3 and 4 drugs have a $590 deductible before they pay a penny. This year I also had $200 a year for Over the Counter items like advil and pain creams through their mail order pharmacy and a $500 debit card to cover any eye care and dental costs (this was over and above the $1750 in Dental and $250 for eye care). Next year no OTC allowance and no Debit card. These are all due to the "Inflation Production Act". Republicans need to push this issue hard right now as many Seniors do not know about the increase next year and that the Democrats caused them.

Don't understand anything about prescription drug costs and can't make a literate comment. All I can do is comment on my costs. Some of the drugs I take a 90 day supply is a few bucks. One that I take a 90 day supply is over $ 500. It's irrational.

The conversation probably went, Govt: "You will sell your product to us at a loss. Period." Producer: "Then we won't sell the product at all. Find a different producer. Period." The producers that were selling at a small profit margin - the least expensive of the drug producers - stopped selling their product, leaving only the higher-priced products on the market. Thomas Sowell must get indigestion every time a democrat starts talking about economics.

#3, For fun and frolic, could you look it up on GoodRx or some other discounter and let us know what the cost might be? I admit to being prescribed Prestiq, my medicare advantage plan wants $131 a month, good rx wants $55 for 90days. Both are for the generic prices. Next year there is a $420 deductible before any tier 3 coverage, FAR cheaper to use GoodRx. I am sure other discount programs are similar. So what the heck happened with any negotiated prices? Sure don't see it on my end.

Eight years ago, the mainstream media told us in no uncertain terms that noncitizens don’t vote in American elections. “There is no evidence,” they said. The likely number “is zero.” They were provably wrong then – there’d been multiple accounts of noncitizens who’d registered and voted in elections. In the years since, the evidence of this problem has piled up higher. But the media are still at it. It’s “extremely rare,” they say. It never “affects the outcome of a race.” Republicans are looking to “blame illegals” if Donald Trump loses, etc. Here’s one example of the disconnect. An audit of Texas

Of all the results from the latest I&I/TIPP poll, the most unsettling has to be that voters think Kamala Harris is at least as much of a fiscal and economic conservative as Donald Trump. Our latest poll, taken of 997 likely voters, finds that more voters say they trust Harris (who’s already announced $4 trillion in tax hikes) than Trump to cut taxes by a 48%-45% margin. Among the crucial independent voters, the margin is even greater – 49% to 36%. That’s not all. More trust Harris to bring about energy independence, 48%-47%. Trump is essentially tied with Harris on growing

With less than a month to go before the election, who has the edge in the presidential race, Democrat Kamala Harris or Republican Donald Trump? Disappointing as it might be to both sides, the race remains too close to call. But Trump has a solid lead when it comes to voter trust in dealing with the nation’s most serious issues, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. First, the big question we’ve asked each month since beginning our presidential poll: “If the presidential election were held today, and the following were the candidates, for whom would you vote?”

Every candidate drools for the proverbial “defining moment” that leaves such an indelible impression that the rest of a debate or oration is rendered an afterthought. Sometimes, however, a line, a quip, or even an aura goes beyond simply defining to truly shining – rising to the level of political lore and perhaps turning an entire campaign. Ronald Reagan, of course, was the world champion in the category: [snip] If one John David Vance was not elevated to that dimension in Tuesday night’s debate against Democratic VP hopeful Tim Walz, he came darn close – by flipping the script in five respects:

If conservatives want to win elections, they don’t need to rile up the base, they need to convince independents to say in public what they believe in private – that they agree with conservatives on most issues and that Democrats are the wildly out-of-touch extremists. That, at least, is one way to read a fascinating new survey from Populace, a non-partisan think tank in Massachusetts, which figured out a way to discern what 20,000 Americans think privately and compare that to what they are willing to say publicly. It turns out that there are often wide gaps between the two, which Populace calls the “Social Pressure Index.”

That left the door open for Democrats to say whatever they wanted about that effort and claim it’s a Trump plan. Project 2025 was never a Trump plan. It was only after they took a closer look at his face and found identity documents on him that the troops realised they had got Sinwar.
