Yesterday, former President Donald Trump survived his second assassination attempt in just two months. His campaign isn’t holding back and is calling out Kamala Harris and the Democrats for their dangerous rhetoric.
“Thankfully, the would-be assassin was stopped by the heroic action of law enforcement — but make no mistake, this psycho was egged on by the rhetoric and lies that have flowed from Kamala Harris, Democrats, and their Fake News allies for years,” the campaign said in a memo to the media.
They are right. For years, the radical left and its allies in the media have spewed venom, demonizing President Trump and stoking hatred among its followers.

"There is no place in politics for violence," Felicia Duncan wrote in a letter that the editors of the Cincinnati Enquire chose to publish. "That said, the former president, Donald Trump, brings a lot of this stuff on himself."
That. Said.
"This stuff" is a curious way of saying "assassins' bullets," but I guess that's just "toMAYto, toMAHto" to the nation's busy omelet makers. Those eggs aren't going to break themselves, you know, and it sure would be easier if they'd quit ducking.
You might think that a second unsuccessful assassination attempt on a presidential candidate calls for a respectful pause of at least a day or two

The wife of a former impeachment witness against President Donald Trump in 2019 downplayed the second assassination attempt on Sunday afternoon.
“No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon,” Rachel Vindman, the wife of Alexander Vindman, posted on X.
You can use this: The post repulsed GOP strategist and Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita, who called on the candidate to denounce his wife’s words.
“Her husband …a candidate for VA 7 …should condemn immediately,” LaCivita posted to X, mistaking Alexander Vindman for his brother, Eugene Vindman, who is running for the open seat in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District.
That seat is being left vacant by Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.).

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) took to X on Sunday to decry what he called “extreme MAGA Republicans,” adding, “We must stop them.” Notably, Jeffries made this declaration an hour after former President Donald Trump survived a second assassination attempt on his life.
“Extreme MAGA Republicans are the party of a national abortion ban and Trump’s Project 2025,” Jeffries said in a Sunday X post, adding, “We must stop them.” [Tweet]
The Democrat House Minority Leader expressed these sentiments an hour after President Trump’s campaign announced that he was safe following gunfire transpiring in his vicinity.

We're still awaiting more details about the latest assassination attempt on President Trump. But it is now quite clear that Trump was the intended target, based on recent reporting about how the gun was positioned when it was shot.
According to the Associated Press, "A man with an AK-style rifle pointed the firearm’s muzzle into Donald Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, as the former president was playing a round, prompting the U.S. Secret Service to open fire, according to three law enforcement officials."
The report continues.
The former president is safe and unharmed, and the FBI says it is investigating “what appears to be an attempted assassination”

via Reuters:
Republican representative Joe Wilson, a senior member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, collapsed at an event on Tuesday and was rushed to hospital, his office said.
The official X profile for Wilson, 77, wrote a message that said the congressman “was taken ill and is being evaluated at a local hospital in Washington, DC.”
According to his son, South Carolina state Attorney General Alan Wilson, his father is in "stable" condition, and doctors "have confirmed [to the family] he has experienced stroke-like symptoms."

As if your pale, vegan, demi-gender-in-law wasn't annoying enough when zhe whined about your F-150 tearing apart the clouds, now zhe has another target: your cats and dogs.
Several years ago I noticed obeisant stooges in the Operation Mockingbird media lashing out at how house pets are going to ruin the air we breathe, the soil we farm, and the water we use to wash the scrapple out of our brick BBQ pits.
Check out this climate codswallop from CNN:
Our four-legged friends don’t drive gas-guzzling SUVs or use energy-sucking appliances, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a climate impact.

One gets a nauseating feeling reading about the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan that began in April 2021 with Joe Biden's announcement that the U.S. was leaving the country by Sept. 11 and ended in wrenching tragedy when U.S. service members were blown up at Abbey Gate at the Kabul Airport on Aug. 26.
The report was three years in the making, and Republicans completed it without any help from the Democrats. That didn't stop them from criticizing the way the committee gathered evidence and wrote the report.

Donald Trump looks like he might win every swing state and also Kamala Harris is up by six points in the latest ABC News poll and has put Texas and Florida in play.
Wait, wut?
Let's cover the absurdities first because that's my beat.
On Monday, ABC News ran the headline, "Harris support rises among some likely voters: POLL," and, if you thought they meant that's what happened in the latest poll... well, that's on you, bub.
As previously reported, Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump by a slight 4 percentage points, 50-46%, among all adults and registered voters alike, and by 6 points, 52-46%, among likely voters in the latest ABC News/Ipsos poll.

It seemed to be a point of pride for Nancy Pelosi that hers was one of the voices that knocked Presidentish Joe Biden out of his reelection campaign. "I just wanted to win this election," she told David Remnick during the Democratic National Convention in August about Democrats who didn't approve of her scheming. "So if they’re upset, I’m sorry for them. But the country is very happy."
In the days after 81-year-old Biden's career-ending presidential debate performance — you remember, the one when he did everything a coma victim would but drool on himself — Pelosi went public with her concerns.

WASHINGTON — President Biden was so hellbent on getting out of Afghanistan that he rebuked any advice to the contrary, ignored the pleas of the Afghan government and disregarded objections from US allies.
That was the one of the main takeaways from the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s more than two-year investigation into America’s chaotic, deadly Afghanistan withdrawal, according to a blistering report released Sunday.
“During his decades-long tenure as a Delaware US senator, eight years as vice president of the United States and nearly four years as president, Mr. Biden has demonstrated distrust of America’s military experts and advisors and has prioritized politics and his personal legacy over America’s national security interests,”

A group of Hollywood celebrities — including Disney-Marvel star Mark Ruffalo, HBO’s Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon, and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali — is claiming that arms exports to Israel are “illegal” as part of their latest push for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The stars co-signed a new call to action from the group Artists for Ceasefire that alleges that the shipment of arms to Israel violates U.S. and international law because Israel engages in what it called “grave human rights violations.”
Among those alleged violations are “striking schools or hospitals, restricting humanitarian aid, and killing children,” the organization said.
