We’re finally getting some inkling of what the Democrats’ anointed presidential candidate Kamala Harris has in store for Americans when it comes to the economy. It’s not good. Indeed, it’s a disaster in the making, one that would set the U.S. economy back decades, destroy businesses, create shortages and lead to even higher prices.
Harris has a big problem. She’s the No. 2 official in an administration that many economists consider the worst in decades. How do you escape that? Of course, you deny it’s your fault, then promise radical, unworkable new policies to replace the old failed ones. The ol’ switcheroo.

The New York Times recently published a long story warning that the planet’s climate tipping points are frighteningly near. The “great systems in the natural world,” the reporters say, “might be pushing toward collapse” due to man’s use of fossil fuel. Maybe so. Or the changes we’re seeing in the climate might be entirely natural.
But that won’t sell papers to a readership that suffers from a chronic and intellectually stunting case of confirmation bias.
The Times wants us to worry about the mass death of coral reefs, the abrupt thawing of permafrost, the collapse of Greenland ice, the breakup of West Antarctic ice, a sudden shift in the West African monsoon,

This week a coalition of leftist groups released an ad for Kamala Harris that contains what the New York Times describes as the “unified message from the left.” What is the message? The election is all about “our freedom” – by which they mean their freedom, not yours.
As the Times puts it, leftist groups tested its “freedom” messaging in the 2022 midterms to “reclaim the language about freedom and personal liberty,” which they say helped “blunt what had been expected to be a sweeping victory for Republicans.”
As we noted in this space recently, Harris has been talking up the

The Democratic talking points were issued and the media enthusiastically accommodated: The Harris-Walz campaign is now a moveable feast of joy. But there’s nothing even remotely joyful about Kamala Harris’ and Tim Walz’s political orientation. Their positions are founded on militancy and just plain meanness.
The media are nothing but shills for the Democratic Party. They are so willing to please that they will run with whatever theme the party tells them to. Take a look at recent headlines.
“Harris Used to Worry About Laughing. Now Joy Is Fueling Her Campaign,” says the New York Times.

In the three weeks since Joe Biden handed her the nomination, Kamala Harris spent a total of 70 seconds in front of reporters and issued one specific promise, which she stole from Donald Trump.
This is the first presidential campaign in history that appears to be guided by Nancy Pelosi’s line about Obamacare: “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”
At her brief stop before a handful of reporters while boarding Air Force Two, one of them oh-so-politely asked Harris when she’d sit down for a press interview.
Her answer: “I’ve

The Democratic Party’s mess will be hard to clean up. By pushing Vice President Kamala Harris forward as the official candidate, and deep-sixing President Joe Biden’s campaign, it’s created a political mess. It’s the party’s fault for lying about Biden’s obvious mental decline. Who’s to blame? The I&I/TIPP Poll has some answers.
Things have gotten worse for the Democrats, not better, with the selection of far-left Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as Harris’ running mate, after the somewhat more moderate Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania backed out of the running.
Apparently, as a Jew, Shapiro didn’t have the stomach to hear extremist, pro-terrorist Democrat

It can’t be denied that Kamala Harris is a midwit, a jabbering cackler and an unaccomplished office holder, all of which should be pointed out aggressively between now and Nov. 5. But the Trump campaign has to make even more noise about the economy. James Carville was right when he famously said “it’s the economy, stupid,” and there’s much about this one that isn’t healthy.
Carville, a Bill Clinton strategist, insisted that the 1992 campaign to unseat President George H.W. Bush was about the country’s economy. As Nov. 3 approached, “Americans were in a sour mood about the direction of

There’s a reason nobody expected far-left Kamala Harris to pick a far-left governor from a deep blue state as her running mate. It’s never worked.
In the wake of Jimmy Carter’s crushing defeat in 1980 and repeated Democratic losses thereafter, the party decided that to win presidential elections they had to at least appear as moderates.
Bill Clinton won by labeling himself a “new Democrat” and picked Al Gore, then a fellow moderate Southerner. Gore in turn tapped Joe Lieberman as his running mate. Barack Obama tried to position himself to the right of John McCain and ran with Scranton Joe Biden. Hillary Clinton picked

If you didn’t know any better, you might think that Kamala Harris was running against some guy named “Project 2025.” She brings it up in every speech. Her campaign has said that “Project 2025” is on the ballot.
But it’s not the lies she and the media are spreading about Project 2025. It’s the fact that Harris doesn’t have one herself that should trouble voters most.
[snip]
Trump and his campaign have repeatedly made it clear that this isn’t his agenda. And, indeed, he has detailed plans posted on his campaign website – not to mention a track record of success as president.
But Harris? She has no policy agenda whatsoever. None.

Now that the Democratic Party officials have decided that Vice President Kamala Harris, and not primary-winner President Joe Biden or anyone else, will be their nominee, how will she fare against former President Donald Trump? Right now, the contest is a tossup, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
The data suggest that Harris might be enjoying an initial polling “honeymoon,” typical after a new face enters a race and voters haven’t had time to assess their candidacy. It was just two weeks ago that the Democratic National Committee elbowed Biden (who was badly flagging in the polls) out of the race

Back in February, we noticed a spate of articles claiming that there was no way that Joe Biden would not be the Democrats’ nominee.
“In the span of two days,” we wrote, “articles started appearing making the exact same argument: That Joe Biden will definitely, no questions asked, be the nominee come November.” (See: “Are Dems Actually ‘Stuck With Biden’? Or Are They Playing A Long Con?” February 14, 2024.)
We noticed that these articles — all written by supposed political pros — made the same argument:
It’s too late for Biden to step aside.
Party elites are all behind Biden.

A tragic milestone is reached today: Day 300 of Iran Hostage Crisis II, as reflected on this site.
And developments are moving fast and furious, even if the end of the ordeal has not for five Americans and some 65 other innocent captives still presumed alive.
As the marker approached, dynamic Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered an oration for the ages, and took bold, decisive actions that could accelerate a deal to return the women, infants, and men who continue as pawns in Hamas’ cruel machinations.
And dimwitted presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala
