California fast food franchise owners are being forced to cut their employees’ hours following Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) $20 minimum wage law, which went into effect in April.
Lawrence Cheng, whose family owns several Wendy’s restaurants in southern California, has had to fill in behind the register to make up for the dramatic cuts, he told the Associated Press.
While he used to have “nearly a dozen employees” working the afternoon shift at his Fountain Valley location, he is reportedly down to just seven per shift.
“We kind of just cut where we can,” Cheng told the outlet. “I schedule one less person,

Maybe if all those joints baked bread for sale, they could have taken advantage of Gruesome Newsom's buddy's Panera Bread exception.

The idea behind the fast food industry was speed, low prices and the convenience of extended hours. It has now become cheaper to visit established small restaurants and the food is usually much better. Smooth move, Newsom. That slamming noise you hear all across California is only McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy's closing their doors for the last time.

Liberals are incapable of connecting dots or doing math. As I have read in all my years, I see a peculiar self-destructiveness locked in their consciousness. It may be as simple as the possibility they really don’t perceive the ruinations of their policies.

Democrats are separated from reality. Their driving force is how they feel regardless of the cost of their insane boondoggles and this is a prime example. Sure, we would all love for people to make more money but this is not the way to do it. You cannot mandate a ridiculous hourly wage especially when your basis for that is because it is “fair.” This puts a knife in the heart of the American Dream which is based upon opportunity and determination, not unrealistic wages for low earners.
Success is a process and there are steps in your journey. Most American families know this and have experienced it. Generation after generation have improved their lot in life with opportunities and hard work. What democrats are doing is unsustainable and unreasonable. They are killing entry level jobs and are actually destroying the economy which will produce an even greater welfare state.
Humans are at our best when we are working and producing. It gives us confidence and makes us less dependent upon government. Every American deserves the dignity that comes with making your own way in life and that is one thing democrats want to take from us. They want the vast majority of us dependent upon their largesse because they know independence from government means less power for them. Democrats are an evil lot. You will be hard pressed to find one policy of theirs that actually promotes the individual above the state.

I love fast food chicken. If it was up to me I'd have it several times a week. Not anymore. KFC is the only place locally and their prices rose so much I stayed away for a couple years. I went back a few months ago to treat myself and a 16 piece bucket of just chicken (half wings and legs) was $40. Almost $60 if you want the side orders. I walked out. I can take my wife to a nice sit down steak place for that.
I dont know what our minimum wage is, but its driving off customers.

Maybe it's a good thing. More Californians can start making their own meals at home. A state like California must have a wealth of crickets and grasshoppers.

Sheesh, poster #12. I thought we had it bad where I live on the price of fried chicken. A 16 piece bucket at KFC here is $34, which isn't a whole lot better than what you paid. Then again, that includes chicken breasts, thighs, legs and a few wings.
We do have a local place that has a special every Wednesday. $1.50/piece. Whereas that's still pretty good, they just raised it from $1.25/piece a week ago, and only a year ago it was $1.00/piece. And that is a good mix of breasts, thighs, legs, and wings.
Bidenomics is bad enough. Having to deal with an idiot like Gruesome Newsom too would be unbearable.
Btw, I really don't think any of these demonrats are ignorant of the results of their actions. I really think the lot of them are out to sabotage our Country. Pack of evil fools.

Re #12, I have no idea how far this particular chain has built out, but we have a chicken place here called "Slim Chickens", a bounce on the old western movie actor, I suppose. But, their chicken fingers are excellent, better than any I've had except KFC, which has the whole chicken with bones. These are no bones and IMO top notch fries, which many places just cannot get right. And prices are reasonable, ours is clean and staffed with friendly people.
But, this is in KC area, no idea where they started or how far they have spread.
