Travis Kelce has broken his silence over his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Harrison Butker's controversial recent speech where he said women are destined to be homemakers.
Butker sparked widespread outrage with a 20-minute speech at Benedictine College, Kansas, where he directly addressed female graduates and told them to be excited for the 'vocation' of being a homemaker, using his wife as an example.
Now, speaking on the latest episode of New Heights, Kelce - who was recording the show from Europe, where he is joining girlfriend Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour - stood up for his teammate against the backlash, even though he disagreed with his views.

So the viral internet story that he would quit the team if Butker was not fired was just that- a phony story.

Kelce, try repeating to your sweetie, Swift, what Butkers said and see if she agrees with it. This will test the strength of your relationship.

I watched the commencement address; clearly, the reporter and the editor did not. NO WHERE did he say women were "destined" to be homemakers. He said some women were looking forward to careers and many others, possibly more, would be most excited about marriage and the children they would have. And the problem with that is...???? Sadly, many women come around to this reality too late. God bless Harrison Butker for presenting home and family as not just an option but a meaningful and fulfilling one. I have two sons and a law degree. Guess which I value more?

My take is "much ado about nothing". People are free to maker their choices; the cancel culture be damned.

Buter did not say women are destined to be homemakers. Looking out at a Catholic audience, he said some of them were about to start careers, but that he would bet most [of those he was talking to] were looking forward to marriage and children, which he then praised. ... Listen, if what he said was so bad, why is it necessary to misquote it to gin up opposition? The real words are just fine.

Who cares what Travis Kelce thinks? He straddled the fence. I lost all respect for the man when he became a vax pusher.

Kelce sounded like a D'Rat in his statement, trying to play both sides - don't want to make Swift mad at you??

Admire Travis Kelce. A few years ago his coach, Andy Reid, told his team that they should take a knee in the National Anthem to shows solidarity with their black teammates. Kelce refused. He stands for the National Anthem and places his hand over his heart. In other words he thinks for himself.

I was happy to see Kelce back up his teammate even as he also uttered the politically correct stance as well. So, yes Travis you can have it both ways. But, it is important that he backed up his team mate.
However, Kelce did take a knee at the playing of the national anthem in 2017.

so what!!! Butker said what he was thinking but it didn't fit the "narrative" of the demcommies so .... he's emasculated and now finds himself in the throes of so much B-S it's hard to imagine what he's going through "but, but, but, but" if robert deniro would say something as "offending" as what Butker said he'd be praised and lauded like the second coming of christ
what a bunch of crap this is but the demcommies control the media so .... there will be no end to this kind of harassment and defacing, sorry to say

I don't recall hearing Butker say women were destined to be homemakers. He said some of you will CHOOSE to be moms. He also said some of you will become professionals and make it big in corporate America.

Kelce did OK, but he straddled, and unconscionably seemed to drag race into the discussion to show to his Hollywood friends what a swell fellow he is. The only meaningful "diversity" issue presented by the kicker's remarks is between those of orthodox faith and those not so. Presumably, blacks and whites are found on both sides.
On the other hand, Pat Mahomes and Andy Reid were straightforward and great. Mahomes is always a class act.

It's too bad so many people don't know how to read, or only hear one sentence someone has said and misinterpret it. I guess they're too busy trying to find fault with something a good, decent person has said and can't wait to give their opinion. If they don't agree that some women will have a career and some will be happy to be homemakers, they are the ones with a problem, not Butker. I've talked to a lot of women since the lefties have tried to take down Butker, and we all agree that our greatest achievement has been having our beloved children and watching them grow. I'm sure most dads feel the same way. I guess I should feel sorry for the ones who carry so much hate around and feel the need to broadcast it. Never apologize Harrison Butker.

My mom "stayed at home" and along with all the other moms in the community created a wonderful place to grow up. My wife did the same thing and I've got four outstanding grown-up married kids raising the next generation. Nobody has regrets about mom's staying home.

Stay at home Moms are worth more than gold! These Daily Mail idiots cannot even straight report what was said so if they make up words like destined for a story what can you believe
