The Biden administration announced Thursday that it's officially moving forward with a proposal to reclassify marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III. The Justice Department submitted the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to the Office of the Federal Register and, if approved, the rescheduling would limit the punishment for those who are in possession of marijuana when it comes to a federal crime. The proposal is subject to a 60-day public comment period. After that, the administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration can assign an administrative law judge to consider the evidence and make a final scheduling recommendation ABC News reported earlier this month the DEA

If one smokes too much marihuana, one's eyes get small and start to look like a startled opossum's. Yes, definitely give FJB a drug test just before the June debate. Because he's full of drugs, he'll set off the detector.

It is addictive and very harmful. And yeah, lots of folks will say otherwise....."I've used it for years and I'm fine". Are they actually "fine"? How in heck would some drug addict know how "fine" they are?

No doubt by reclassifying marijuana Biden and his Obama crew are trying to buy the votes of marihuana users who probably will not vote as that reclassification will do nothing for them as marihuana is readily available all over the place.

Next they will reclassify cocaine possession as a misdemeanor retroactively, so Hunter can walk free after his sugar brothers pays a modest fine.

Baker Versus Noonan 9 replies

Susan Baker read Peggy Noonan’s recent Wall Street Journal column so that you don’t have to. Baker took issue with Noonan in a letter to the editor published yesterday. It’s hard to nail Noonan down in the column, but Baker bites on Noonan’s set-up: "Peggy Noonan starts out decrying Joe Biden as 'too old and infirm' to be president and Donald Trump as 'too crazy' (“2024: A Certain Fatalism Sets In,” Declarations, May 11). I think this gives Old Joe a pass; after all, who doesn’t feel for an old man? Instead, I see a man who has spent his adult life living off the largesse of political power.

For a brief moment in early 2024, it seemed like Disney might have learned its lesson. The once-admired company saw financial gains under new leadership amid some pointed public statements vowing to focus more on entertainment and less on politics. The slop is solidly trending downhill again, though, and it's become clear that no actual lessons were learned. The most recent example comes via the Disney+ investment and partnership with the BBC to stream the umpteenth season of "Dr. Who." As RedState's Brad Slager laid out on Friday, former showrunner Russell T. Davies returned for this latest iteration, and he's decided to make "queerness" a centerpiece.

Digging into our archives I find a previous comment on Rochelle Olson: “Rochelle Olson is a pitiful excuse of a reporter for the Star Tribune. Back in 2006, I called her out as ‘reckless and feckless,’ a judgment I stand by today.” If you run into me around town and have an hour or two to spare, ask me why. Olson covered President Trump’s appearance as the featured speaker at our impecunious state party’s Lincoln Reagan dinner last night. It sounds like a good time was had by all except Olson: "Former President Donald Trump headlined the state Republican Party’s annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner on Friday in St. Paul, repeatedly ripping

It was the time of trials. The twentieth century tested the strength of civilization to the limit. As Westerners indebted to Roman law and Erasmus of Rotterdam humanism, we barely survived the mortal challenges of Bolshevism and Nazism. Like the ancient Greeks, the founders of democracy who had to go to war with the Persians time and time again, we faced the threat of final annihilation. It was touch and go. Before the outbreak of World War I, none but the most tormented misanthropes could have guessed the extent of the man-made disasters that awaited humanity. Bastards of the war, the twin ideologies of Soviet-style communism and national socialism —

President Barack Obama was never much of a friend to Israel. Now, ten years later, former Obama aides and members of his administration have branched out and taken lucrative, high-ranking positions at some of the left-wing nonprofit organizations that make up a network of far-left, anti-Israel groups currently funding the efforts to stoke unrest on campuses. The Fifth Amendment has long stood in the way of the schemes of public officials. Since the early days of the republic, federal, state and local governments have felt the need to acquire the private property of citizens. This has spawned almost two centuries of eminent domain case law and precedent requiring reasonable grounds and just compensation for private land acquisitions. Inevitably, there has been a long arms race between usurious public servants and the people. Over the past 50 years, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has pioneered a litany of highly contested but thus far effective "workarounds"

Illegal immigration and control over the nation's borders will be one of the major issues in this fall's elections, and a key aspect of that issue is the number of people who are present in the country today - and what should be done about them. Should he win reelection, former President Donald Trump is reportedly being advised to deport almost 20 million illegal aliens, in a project similar to the United Kingdom's Rwanda policy: "Donald Trump’s allies are drawing up detailed proposals to implement the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s plans for an unprecedented immigration crackdown, including an effort that would deport asylum seekers to other countries,

No one can predict the future, of course, or if there will even be one. But all of us crystal ball gaze—if we live, it will be in today’s future. So, we make plans and contingencies based on our best guesses of what the short-term and long-term will bring. We do that individually, and we need to do it as a country. The re-election of Joe Biden in November, as improbable and horrifying as the thought is to right-thinking Americans, is far from impossible. Yet, Biden implemented draconian emissions limits for all vehicles, ensuring that within nine years, 67% of all new passenger cars and trucks will be electric. The president didn't use Trump or the GOP's name as he addressed graduating seniors from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, but it was clear who he was talking about as he brought up January 6 amid their commencement ceremony. 'Insurrectionists who stormed the capitol with Confederate flags are called patriots by some,' Biden told the seniors, graduating from the historically black, all-male institution. 'Not in my house.' Trump often refers to his supporters who ramsacked the Capitol by that term. 'Black police officers, black veterans, protecting the Capitol were called another word as you recall,' Biden continued. The president added that 'extremists close the doors of opportunity.'

This is not normal. The anti-Israel uprisings at colleges across the country have featured violence (from both sides), vandalism, unlawful occupations known as “encampments,” and many other acts that go well beyond free speech. And now, at the University of Michigan, this radical protest movement just crossed the line into dangerous new territory. This week, agitators reportedly showed up at the homes of University of Michigan Board of Regents members in the middle of the night, invading their private property. They chanted on their lawns and brought with them fake corpses, faux bloodied sheets, and lists of demands, including, bizarrely, completely unrelated desires such as “defunding the police.”
