Maybe insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. But insanity is also whatever the California Legislature is doing at any given time. The most recent example? A reparations bill that would establish the California American Freedmen Affairs Agency has sailed through the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senate Bill 1403, one of at least 14 reparations bills introduced in the Legislature, cleared the committee by a 8-1 vote two weeks ago, confirming one more time that lawmakers have descended into madness. Unless they regain their wits, reparations will break the state.
But a return to reason is unlikely.

I’m a retired teacher. I’m on CalSters retirement. I always worry that the state will blow the funds on whack-a-doodle gimmies like this reparations crap, even though California was a Union state. Idiots, Idiots, IDIOTS!!!

and here's the dirty little secret. Not one thin dime will be given to any one. The money will be given to 'special interest' groups/community activists to pass the money where THEY think it will do the most good. After of course, 10 or 20 percent is spent on the costs to run their programs.

Billions and billions of debt. What else would you expect from Pelosi's nephew, Slick? Now the greaser wants to run the country into the ground, too. Let's have more illegal criminals, more "homeless" tent cities, more poop on the street, and crime ,crime, crime. But you dumb idiots voted for Slick, even when Slick was trying to be recalled. Now you're up to your knees in filth so you packed your crap up and moved to Texas, where they hate you for what you've done. Billions and billions in debt is what you get when you vote for these morons. Don't forget Slick was banging his friend's wife and smiled throughout the whole sordid affair. Yeah, you voted for this Getty family mole. Thanks a lot.

Pure racist hate, with an official stamp of approval.
Slavery was ended 161 years ago.
Slavery never existed in California.
No person alive was ever a slave.
No person alive ever owned a slave.
It is almost certain that no person alive today ever even met a person who was once enslaved.
This is a dead and past and buried issue. This sort of an organized theft of money to pay to the undeserving is morally wrong.

FACTS!!!
In 1849, Californians sought statehood and, after heated debate in the U.S. Congress arising out of the slavery issue, California entered the Union as a free, non -slavery state by the Compromise of 1850. California became the 31st state on September 9, 1850.
To balance California's entry into the Union as a free state, the Compromise of 1850 included other measures—such as a stricter law on the return of fugitive slaves—that appeased the South. "...Neither Slavery nor involuntary Servitude, unless for the punishment of crimes, shall ever be tolerated in this State."
California has NEVER had slavery.
This is Communist redistribution of money and wealth by Gruesome Newsom the Communist Dictator!!!

"Unless they regain their wits, reparations will break the state."
Too late. Already broke.
Slavery has not been wholly eradicated, though, despite some of the rhetoric. It isn't on the same scale or as visible; but human trafficking, particularly of people sold to be sex slaves (of both sexes, sure, but far more women than men). Ref 2023 film called "Sound of Freedom".

#3, Gavin Newsom is not Nancy Pelosi's nephew. Neither by blood nor marriage is Newsom related to Pelosi or her husband. I don't understand why people think he is.

The liberals running the Left Coast know that they can spend, spend, spend and then go get a bailout from their DC buddies. Having 54 electoral votes is great leverage. That being said, the national pastime in CA is promising free stuff to minorities and then laughing when nothing is delivered.
