Pope Francis commemorated Earth Day on Monday by warning that the planet is “falling into ruin” thanks to humanity’s failure to protect it.
“Our generation has bequeathed many riches, but we have failed to protect the planet and we are not safeguarding peace,” the pontiff chided on X (former Twitter).
“We are called to become artisans and caretakers of our common home, the Earth which is ‘falling into ruin,’” he declared, followed by “#EarthDay.”
For the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020, Pope Francis issued a similar indictment of humanity’s failure to care for the planet, blaming human selfishness for the ruin of the earth.

The pope is either a very evil man or a dingbat.

You think so, Franny? Could a communist pope have had a hand in this? He's definitely not a real Catholic.

Like the Pope had clean hands. He helped to create it.

Maybe he could be both! Perhaps the College of Cardinals mistook the color of the smoke. We members of the "frozen chosen" are fascinated by the pomp and conclave we see on TV. The press doesn't seem as enamored of the papacy as in the past.

The planet is fine, it's the Roman Catholic Church that has fallen into ruin.

#5 Sweetpea is right. As a Catholic I can see it. The Church is in trouble. People are not leaving Christianity, they are leaving the Catholic Church. This pope is one of the reasons.
He should stop worrying about the Planet and do his job and worry about the Church.
Who am I to tell the pope what to do? Just a lay Catholic concerned about the Church that is not listening to the laity.
Government and Church neither listening to the people, and not being represented by it's leadership.

the false prophet pope aka pillsbury dough boy is, by far, the most divisive Pope in my lifetime and is not helping me in my returning to "the church"
I have my beliefs, from my childhood, and I'm sticking with what I learned from the Nuns and those "real men", at St. Francis of Asssi parish, who chose to follow God and not the world of atheism and materiality
my "church" has become a very private endeavor for me and I'm keeping it that way

I can't believe this cleric doesn't know that this is the Devil's world. It began as Satan's own planet but then became a prison planet for fallen angels after they were kicked out of heaven. It isn't the Church's "mission" to, "save the planet," but to save lost souls!
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."
Mt 16:15

As I look out my window at the lovely trees that are at their springtime finest I can assure you that the Earth is far from falling into ruin.

So is the Catholic Church, thanks to you, Frank. I would like to see how far membership numbers have dropped since this commie was elected Pope.

The Pope is a man; he is not God. As Jesus observed: "Oh ye of little faith." I do not worship the pope, and his failures are not my failures.
The Catholic Church has not "fallen into ruin". Jesus Christ IS the Catholic Church. He established it, and petty politics cannot destroy it.

The planet is falling into ruin but it doesn’t have anything to do with the climate. Try taking a look at the culture, Frankie.

While he lives in luxury provided by catholic donors behind his walls with his Swiss Guards...probably eating Wagyu steak and imported caviar...

If he cared more for his people than he did about Gaia then he would not be celebrating "Earth Day". He reminds me of the parable of the rich man's servant who buried his talents rather than investing them.

What an ego! Man didn’t crest the universe but he thinks he can manage it! Wow! Sorry Pope guy…the only places soiling the earth on a massive scale are commies! We aren’t paying for that!

IF the Pope wasn't a Communist, he'd realize that Excommunicating the Scum Politicians that support Abortion is HIS REAL Responsibility!

Poster # 12 is correct. Jesus Christ IS the Catholic Church, and those of faith shouldn't avoid church because of this incredibly obtuse Pope. The Catholic Church has survived terrible Popes through the centuries, and is still here.
Having said all that, and being a Roman Catholic, this Pope is a Commie and if there is any ruination going on it's because of him.
