During a portion of an interview with NBC News that was aired on Tuesday’s “NBC Nightly News,” FBI Director Christopher Wray stated that the agency isn’t monitoring the protests on college campuses because they “don’t monitor protests” as a general rule, “but we do share intelligence about specific threats of violence with campuses, with state and local law enforcement,” and “when violence ensues, that’s when we get concerned, when you have threats of violence.”

The Democrats hold a one-vote majority in Minnesota’s state Senate. (snip) Their skinny majority is now in jeopardy, however, because a DFL senator has been arrested for burglary. (snip) The Democrats’ leadership is determined to avoid any loss of power, so Mitchell is now changing her story. (snip) The idea that Mitchell broke into her stepmother’s house via a basement window at 4:45 a.m. to carry out a wellness check is laughable. (snip) C'mon now. Who hasn't travelled 3.5 hours for an unannounced welfare check of a vulnerable relative at 4:30 in the morning, entering through a basement window, wearing all black, and wielding a modified flashlight?

House Speaker Mike Johnson reportedly apologized to President Joe Biden for rolling his eyes at the president’s angry State of the Union address in March.
Johnson’s office did not deny his apology when Breitbart News asked for comment.
The apology is the latest revelation that suggests Johnson’s sympathies lie with the establishment and Washington, DC, elites, rather than with the voters who elected him to Congress and the Republican conference.
Just last week, Biden steamrolled Johnson by allowing Democrats to, in effect, seize control of the House, thereby allowing Biden’s agenda to sail through Congress.

Pope Francis commemorated Earth Day on Monday by warning that the planet is “falling into ruin” thanks to humanity’s failure to protect it.
“Our generation has bequeathed many riches, but we have failed to protect the planet and we are not safeguarding peace,” the pontiff chided on X (former Twitter).
“We are called to become artisans and caretakers of our common home, the Earth which is ‘falling into ruin,’” he declared, followed by “#EarthDay.”
For the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020, Pope Francis issued a similar indictment of humanity’s failure to care for the planet, blaming human selfishness for the ruin of the earth.

President Joe Biden condemned antisemitism on college campuses on Monday — but equivocated, saying that he also condemned those who did not understand the Palestinians’ point of view.
“I condemn the antisemitic protests, that’s why I set up a program to deal with that,” Biden told reporters in Virginia. “I also condemn those who don’t understand what’s going on with the Palestinians and their — how they’re doing.” (snip)
Joe Biden ran on the Charlottesville “good people on both sides” lie. Now in 2024 we have Joe Biden actually doing what he claimed Trump did in regards to antisemitism

A CNN panel on Monday said they found it striking that an alternate juror in former President Donald Trump’s case can attend a dentist appointment while the defendant cannot attend momentous events.
Opening arguments for Trump’s trial related to a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels began on Monday, and the judge overseeing the case, Juan Merchan, reportedly will end the session early to allow one of the alternate jurors to attend the appointment. Merchan previously ruled that Trump must be in the courtroom throughout the trial because of his status as a criminal defendant, meaning he is not permitted to attend the Supreme Court’s Thursday presidential immunity argument

The New York Attorney General's Office and lawyers for Donald Trump reached a deal on Monday, allowing the former president's $175 bond to stand on certain conditions and essentially tossing Attorney General Letitia James' request.
On Friday, James requested New York Judge Arthur Engoron to invalidate the bond provided by California-based Knight Specialty Insurance Company (KSIC) due to being "not regulated by the state's insurance department" and "had never before written a surety bond in New York or in the prior two years in any other jurisdiction."

A new study out of UCLA says same-sex couples are at greater “risk of exposure to the adverse effects of climate change” than straight couples.
These effects include “wildfires, floods, smoke-filled skies, and drought,” according to a report from KQED.
Same-sex couples disproportionately live in coastal regions and cities, which are more vulnerable to such disasters. They’re also more likely “to live in areas with poor infrastructure, worse-built environments.”
Washington DC, which rates high for “climate risks” such as heat waves, floods, and “dangerously strong winds,” has the greatest proportion of gay couples in the U.S. San Francisco ranks second, and also faces a high climate change risk.

Disgraced Stormy Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti has been in contact with former President Trump’s legal defense team and is ready and willing to testify against his former client, he told The Post in an interview from jail. (snip) “There’s no question [the trial] is politically motivated because they’re concerned that he may be reelected,” Avenatti said. “If the defendant was anyone other than Donald Trump, this case would not have been brought at this time," (snip) Of his former client, Avenatti was scathing — and warned New York City prosecutors that he expected Daniels to commit perjury should she be called as a witness.

Rep. Bennie Thompson has filed legislation that would remove Secret Service protection from those who have been sentenced to at least one year in prison. Thompson previously served as the chair of the January 6 Select Committee.
The bill is called the "‘Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable Former Protectees Act," also called the "DISGRACED Former Protectees Act." It states that Secret Service protection shall be terminated for "any person upon sentencing following 7 convictions for a Federal or State offense that is punishable for a term of imprisonment of at least one year."
