The New York Attorney General's Office and lawyers for Donald Trump reached a deal on Monday, allowing the former president's $175 bond to stand on certain conditions and essentially tossing Attorney General Letitia James' request. On Friday, James requested New York Judge Arthur Engoron to invalidate the bond provided by California-based Knight Specialty Insurance Company (KSIC) due to being "not regulated by the state's insurance department" and "had never before written a surety bond in New York or in the prior two years in any other jurisdiction."

If New York has $167 million dollars in their hands, what business is it of their where the money came from? You notice this say the New York Attorney Generals office. Not Engoron. Pretty sure Engoron would have refused it.

The California Senate passed a bill that would ban parental notification for gender changes in public TK-12 and provide more resources to increase parental support of LGBTQ pupils. While parents broadly support disclosure rules and have approved them in many school districts, state leaders, including the attorney general — who has supported lawsuits against districts with disclosure rules — say these efforts harm transgender children. In the past year, school districts across California have adopted measures requiring parents to be notified if their children request to officially change their pronouns, go by a different name, or use facilities or school programs for children of the opposite gender.
