The NBA Wednesday banned Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter for violating league gambling rules. The NBA said in a statement on X, "The league's investigation found that prior to the Raptor's March 20 game, Porter disclosed confidential information about his own health status to an individual he knew to be an NBA bettor. Another individual with whom Porter associated and knew to be an NBA bettor subsequently placed an $80,000 parlay proposition bet with an online sports book, to win $1.1 million, wagering that Porter would underperform in the March 20 game."

Gee, who could have imagined that with all the legalized betting on sports these days, someone would find a way to cheat? I honestly cringe when I see the Manning brothers advertising for sports betting. Eli is probably worth at least 150 million; Peyton probably has upwards of 300 million in the bank. I don't mind people making money advertising for legitimate businesses, but sports betting, and online casino betting, and online lottery betting hurts people who really can't afford to lose. It hurts individuals. It hurts families. It hurts sports. Add those up and it hurts America.

Probably 25% of promos in a typical NFL game encourage gambling. The funny part is they all provide a gamblers anonymous hotline, the only fine print you can read.

My mind jumps to Michael Vick, the NFL quarterback who, if I recall correctly, was 'banned for life' from the NFL and spent nearly 2 years in prison for running a dog-fighting operation. Somehow, after he got out of prison, he was 'UN-Banned' and was hired by a different NFL team and went on to play for several more years. "Banned for Life".....right..... until the league figures out it can make more money with the ''banned" player on the field or on the court, entertaining the crowd and bringing in paying customers.

Israel carried out a drone and missile strike inside Iran Thursday night in retaliation for the massive strike on Israel Saturday. Israel targeted facilities around Isfahan in central Iran, where Iranian nuclear facilities are located. The primary target seems to have been air defense systems around the Khatami Air Base near Isfahan. This is one of the bases from which last weekend's attack on Israel was launched. According to reports, the US was given notice of the attack at only the last minute. Speaking at the end of a meeting of the Group of Seven nations in Capri, Italy, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said

Israel downplayed reported airstrikes against Iran that appeared to hit targets near that country’s suspected nuclear program on Friday, seeming to cast the operation as proof Israel could reach the sites, rather than a full-scale attack. As Breitbart News noted, there were media reports that Israeli drones, or missiles, had hit targets near Isfahan, Iran — close to the Natanz nuclear facility — as well as targets in Syria and Iraq. Israel’s Army Radio repeated these reports. damage might have been, and one Israeli lawmaker — national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir — posted dismissively on Twitter/X that the attack had been a “scarecrow,” or “lame.”

National Public Radio CEO Katherine Maher has been thoroughly exposed as a radical in recent days as one of NPR’s veteran editors—Uri Berliner—actually told the truth and revealed that the taxpayer-sponsored “news organization” is hopelessly biased toward the progressive viewpoint. For this transgression, he was promptly suspended; he said thank you but take a hike, I’m resigning. The highly publicized back-and-forth led inquiring minds to take a closer look at Maher’s past, and what they found out is that she’s a radical extremist who thinks the leftist narrative is more important than the actual truth and that those who don’t stick to said narrative

The Biden administration on Friday released its long-anticipated rewrite of Title IX, but left out any mention of transgender-identifying male athletes in women’s sports. The Biden administration’s draft proposal included a radical revision that would have forced forced federally funded educational institutions to allow men to compete on their women’s sports teams unless they demonstrate it compromises student safety. Under that rule, the burden of proof would have been shifted to schools, which in effect would have to create separate policies for every sport.

As RedState reported on Thursday, NYPD officers finally moved in to shut down a pro-Hamas "encampment" at Columbia University. The supposed protesters had been chanting offering outright support to the terrorist group while illegally occupying the area, including giving "honor" to "all the martyrs." Now we are starting to get more details and pictures of what transpired along with reactions, and it's safe to say the hysterical crying has begun. Videos shared by my colleague Jeff Charles earlier showed police clashing with protesters and things turning violent. Numerous arrests were made while others were suspended

The evil that is now running rampant across our country is ostensibly directed at Israel, but Israel is only the pretext, a target of convenience. We have seen in recent months that “anti-Zionism” is merely a cover for anti-Semitism. If Israel disappeared tomorrow, the anti-Semites here, in Western Europe and elsewhere, wouldn’t miss a beat. But it doesn’t stop there. In Iranian and al Qaeda ideology, Israel is only the Little Satan. America is the Great Satan. So, what would happen if someone brought an American flag to an anti-Israel demonstration? A few brave souls tried it: The al Qaeda and Iranian dogma that America is the Great Satan

The United States used its veto on Thursday at the United Nations (UN) Security Council to block a Palestinian state from being declared unilaterally. American policy has held for decades that a Palestinian state should emerge after negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Still, the Biden administration played coy until the last hours before the UN Security Council vote, with the White House dodging questions about a potential veto until the State Department announced the U.S. position earlier on Thursday. In an explanation of the U.S. vote, Ambassador Robert Wood said: The United States has worked vigorously and with determination to support Palestinian statehood in the context of

Earlier on Thursday, it was revealed that Joe Biden was trying to appease the Mullahs by negotiating a new nuclear deal. The outline would also guarantee Israel wouldn't carry out retaliatory strikes on Iran after the latter attacked the former with around 300 drones and missiles. As with all aspects of his foreign policy throughout his career, we can safely say that Biden's gambit has failed. According to multiple reports, Israel has begun bombing Iran, as well as Syria and Iraq, for a three-pronged attack. Syrian reports indicated airstrikes targeted sites belonging to the Syrian Army in the As-Suwayda and Daraa Governorates of southern Syria. An Israeli missile strike targeted a site in Iran early Friday morning, according to ABC News. The report came shortly after local sources reported explosions in Isfahan in central Iran, in the As-Suwayda Governorate of southern Syria, and in the Baghdad area and Babil Governorate of Iraq early Friday morning. Videos reportedly from Isfahan appeared to show Iranian air defenses activated in the skies over the area. The Iranian semi-official Fars News Agency reported that an explosion was heard in Qahjavarestan, east of Isfahan and near the Isfahan International Airport.

President Trump could go to jail if Judge Juan Merchan rules him in contempt of court in his New York City bookkeeping trial. When court resumed on Thursday after a day off, New York City prosecutors argued that former President Trump had broken the gag. Merchan imposed the order in March and later expanded it to keep Trump quiet about the judge's daughter who works to elect Democrats, including Joe Biden. She has used the trial as a fundraiser for her Democrat clients. Prosecutors claim that Trump has broken the gag order ten times and have asked for higher fines and other punishment for him.

The rapid progress Thursday afternoon propelled the case closer to opening statements and weeks of testimony in a case charging the Republican ex-president with falsifying business records to suppress stories about his sex life in the final days of the 2016 election. The jury includes a sales professional, a software engineer, an English teacher and multiple lawyers. The case centers on $130,000 Trump’s lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen paid to porn actor Stormy Daniels.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) made history Thursday night just before midnight by essentially surrendering Republican majority control to Democrats. For the first time in recorded history — since the House began keeping records — the House Rules Committee relied on minority party votes to overcome objections from the majority and advance a rule bill to the House floor. The committee voted nine to three, with all four Democrats on the committee voting with five Republicans to move a rule to the House floor, which, if passed with Democrat support as expected, would allow votes on Johnson’s foreign aid package, including a bill that includes tens of billions to fund Ukraine.
