The cost of a simple apple has sparked a furious debate on social media after a young shopper delivered an impassioned protest at paying $7 for the grocery staple.
More than one million people have seen the diatribe from the TikTok user @via..li, who had just emerged from an unnamed branch of Whole Foods.
The Boston-based influencer reached into her bag, grabbing the apple and her phone and left her followers in no doubt about her fury. 'I literally just did grocery shopping at Whole Foods and look at this,' she said holding up the offending fruit.
'Guess how much this is. This is an apple, it's called a SugarBee

That must have been one excellent apple! It must have been the new Neiman Marcus brand.

How much for an Apple? $7. Hey that's pretty good for an iPhone 15! No, that's for 1 piece of fruit. Oh, never mind.
I went to Hell Food's hot salad bar back in October and paid $17 for a couple ladles full of Indian food. It was good, but I couldn't eat for a few days to amortize the investment.

FTA: "The annual rate of inflation has fallen to 3.5 percent from its high of 9.1 percent in June 2022."
The RATE of inflation may have fallen, but prices are still rising at 3.5%.

Potential honest New York City Jurors, upon reflection, know that if they are on the jury to would find Trump “not guilty” in such a highly partisan political persecution based upon the law and other legalities, that such jurors would become what amounts to public figures in highly partisan Democrat New York City where they could likely face a lot of retribution from even their current friends and acquaintances on into the future, that they would avoid by getting off the jury. That leaves potentially dishonest Jurors who intend to find Trump “guilty” regardless of the facts of the case.

There's a reason they call Whole Foods, Whole Paycheck.

Shop at Whole Foods, expect a Whole Foods price. Apples elsewhere are not cheap but not 7$ / apple. Bidenomics has inflated all costs and therefore prices. It's not rocket science. It's basic cost of goods sold passed onto the consumer.

So...why did she buy the apple then? Is WF the only supermarket in Boston? Did she purchase it in order to rant about it on Tiktok? Maybe as an "influencer" she has an overwhelming desire to be trendy.
She's not that smart of a shopper; no doubt there are less expensive stores available as well as even some farms that allow people to pick their own fruit. No sympathy here.

It must have weighed about 1.75 pounds, as the cost is $3.99/lb (at my local whole foods as well as the one I looked up in Boston). Of course, I have seen apples that can weight that much because of their water content. That said, even if it weighed one pound, I can't believe we have reached a point in time where a one pound apple would cost $3.99! So glad Joe's economic plan is working. *eye roll* I will say, though, that I can buy that same SugarBee at my local HEB for $1.19/pound. Maybe she should consider shopping somewhere other than an elitist store?

Anybody who even walks in the door of a Whole Foods is of questionable sanity. Same for the ones who buy a $6 coffee at Starbucks because it has whipped cream on it. Stop going along with it and they will either lower their prices or go out of business. They may claim that their products are of higher quality but they come from the same trees and bushes.

Speaking of high prices, I just got a dose of reality. Took 5 blouses to the cleaners - cost was $41.70! I need to start doing my own ironing. It was a good reminder, however, of why I usually wear a t-shirt and jeans.

I buy my apples at Costco. ~$5 for 4lbs of Honey Crisp apples or ~$4 for 3lbs of Gala apples. Juicy and delicious.

#16 has the solution tor that shopper. Even if she only ate one apple from that Costco bag, it would be cheaper than the one from Whole Paycheck.

The cost of the fruit was only $1. The other $6 was to pay for the Apple trademark.
