Non-profit theater companies across the country would receive a $5 billion taxpayer-funded bailout under a new plan being promoted by a group of Democrats in the Senate. The proposed bailout comes as prominent stages are facing unprecedented financial crises following their embrace of woke identity politics, which has alienated audiences and donors. Among the companies poised to receive the new federal dollars would be New York’s Public Theater, which staged the gruesome stabbing death of President Donald Trump in its infamous 2017 production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar.

Why do democrats spend billions on ridiculous crud that has very little effect on the average American family. Because they couldn’t care less about you unless you can do something for them. In other words, money. Lots of it.

#1, another vote buying scheme.
And once the funding is set up once, it will be permanent expenditure and expected by each of those FAILING theatres.

$5 Billion for theaters, yet the same leftist commies could not vote for $5 Billion for the border wall. I hate them all.

Same old Democrat playbook. If you won't support it by buying tickets, you will support it with tax dollars. Just like the Chevy Volt during the Obama years.

A billion here and a billion there and pretty soon you're talking about some money. I'm so sick of them throwing billions at everything that moves.

They sure can figure out ways to waste Taxpayer Dollars. Why in the world do we CARE if the Movie Industry goes under? Maybe if they tried making a decent Picture, we would think about going the the Theater again. It's been nothing but Filth, full of the "F" word and naked women. Not what I would even think of spending $12 or $15 to look at that garbage! I suppose they will decide to help out Disney next!

Great! More money for political movies that no one will ever watch. The movie producer's donation to Congress has already been made. More wasteful government spending. The accompanying inflation will arrive next month. Invest in printing presses! The government uses lots of them!

NO! More money we don't have being printed and passed out to democrat buddies. This has got to stop. If they fold and go under they fold and go under. Believe it or not we can deal with that. More taxes hoisted on our shoulders, more debt, more inflation. Let them get some backers and figure it out. I don't care. I am tired of scraping by while these progressive bedfellows scratch each others back. While a play from Shakespeare might be enjoyable I'll just read the play. It becomes self sustaining or it goes bye bye. You are not nearly as talented and entertaining as you think you are.

I wonder what cost taxpayers more, failed Left wing policies and agendas or bailing out the aftermath of failed policies and agendas?

No.
All kinds of "companies" are struggling. We need to get our financial house in order.
Same advice regarding "foreign entanglements."
President Trump was not and is not an "isolationist." He was doing what he must do Constitutionally, the crucial task of providing for the defense of this country and setting the national economy on a path toward prosperity, which would have made progress in solving our debt and deficit problems.
He did this while the Dems spent their time falsely accusing DJT of absurdities and fueling the irrational hatred of him. They were and are destructive and have cause great damage to The Body Politic and the economic conditions, and the social fabric has been shredded.
A healthy, prosperous country, one where the citizens respect one another (generally speaking) and love their own country, this is an American which can effectively "lead" the world: by example and a moral grounding, NOT as a push-over moneybags.

See what I mean about Congress wasting borrowed taxpayer money. Leave it to demonrats to think up places that need bailing out thanks to their own rotten policies and their love for Tinseltown.

These people need to be locked up. Our country is in serious debt and they are throwing money around like drunks. If the money is not in the budget, which it isn't, then they should not be allowed to spend money they don't have. That goes for Biden also. Our Budget is a Legal Agreement with the Citizens that is is what it will cost us to run the Federal Government for the year indicated. The people breaking this Law need to be expelled for Congress.

Not just ANY theatre company,
NON-PROFIT (that is, left-wing pervert crazy) theatre companies.
NO WAY that working people should be FORCED to pay for 'entertainment' propaganda that they do not like, do not support.
If these 'entertainers' can't make a living, then they need to make a product that more people will find pleasing and 'entertaining', or they need to get a real job.
Job.... J. O. B.
You know, WORK.
Taking MY Money and giving it to these scum?
I say NO! NO! AND [HADES] NO!
