We are all aware that democracy is not a modern invention. It was characteristic of many city-states in the ancient world. Athens, for instance, had a flourishing democracy in the 5th and 4th centuries B.C., until the independence of the city disappeared in the emerging age of empires. Rome had a “mixed” constitution in which democracy was an important element until the republic vanished, to be replaced by monarchy in the first century B.C., the age of Caesar and Augustus. We moderns didn’t create democracy. However, beginning with the American Founding Fathers,

We are not a "democracy". We are a constitutional republic. They are NOT the same. In one, the people rule through elected representatives. In the other, majority rules. And the author should know part of the downfall of Greece was that democracy. That said, a republic that ignores its constitution will be reduced to a democracy. That is why the left refers to America as a democracy, and I wish Republicans , including the author of this article, would quit going along with them! By the way, Rome began to ignore their constitution, allowing, among other things, an influx of what we now ridiculously call "migrants", and it led to their downfall. Again, this is why the left pushes for "migration".

I meant to add that this is also why "the will of the people", as the Dems used to love to say, is supposed to be carried out by the elected officials in a Republic. In other words, a politician runs on certain promises and the people elect him to go do those things. That is another reason the left plays the games it does and why the deep state grooms politicians - they want them to ignore the will of the people. This is why there are so many squishy Republicans who run as conservatives then begin to do what they want, or what they are groomed to do, once they are in DC, ignoring the will of those who elected them. This is, again, by design. This is part of how you get that "democracy", by slowly destroying constitutional representation, all of part of the bigger plan to destroy the republic, period

The word "democracy" is not found in The Constitution of the United States, The Bill of Rights, Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, or The Declaration of Independence to name a few. Why? Because democracy is winner take all where the will of the majority tramples the will of the minority. God help us if we ever become a true democracy.

I don’t think many Americans realize how difficult it is to come to America legally. Among my own friends, I know an academic who has spent the past year in legal limbo, not allowed to work between teaching positions and constantly waiting on whether he can stay in America or not. In Georgia, I know a couple — the husband is American, the wife British — who can still not legalize as a couple, despite years of marriage and years of being together, who want to get themselves to America.

The US has issued a draft resolution to the United Nations Security Council calling for the immediate cease-fire between Israel and Hamas that would be connected to the release of hostages, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Wednesday evening. “We’re pressing for an immediate ceasefire tied to the release of hostages. That would bring immediate relief to so many people who are suffering in Gaza – the children, the women, the men,” Blinken told Saudi media outlet Al Hadath.

There’s plenty of bad news about the Republican campaign in 2024, and I’ve covered it in detail, but objectivity requires that one correctly assess what is going right too, and there’s a lot going right for Republicans right now. First and foremost, there is the massive change at the Republican National Committee with the firing of the utterly useless Ronna McDaniel and the elevation of Michael Whatley and Lara Trump.Next, Donald Trump is in a position where it looks like he is likely to win the presidency if current trends continue…that’s one heck of an if. And, finally, we also seem to be doing pretty well in the Senate races.

Leftists across social media freaked out on Saturday after Donald Trump warned of a “bloodbath” in the automobile industry if Joe Biden wins in November. Trump made the remarks during a rally in Dayton, Ohio, where he was warning about the impacts on the automobile industry if he is not re-elected. “Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s gonna be a bloodbath. That’s going to be the least of it,” Trump said during a rally near Dayton, Ohio. “It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country.” If this election isn’t won, I’m not sure that you’ll ever have another election in this country,” he added.

There's new reporting about Joe Biden, and it's not looking good from inside the campaign. According to the report from NBC, Biden is "angry and anxious about his reelection effort." Nearly 20 lawmakers, present and past administration officials, and Biden allies, dished on his anger about Trump leading him in the polls. When he found out that his numbers were dropping, he was "seething." That's why he's now throwing Israel and Netanyahu under the bus, and doing all he can to try to appeal to the left to get them back into the fold. The polls have left him frustrated and questioning the travel and communication strategies.

Now in general election mode, former President Donald J. Trump is playing three-dimensional chess against a sitting president who can barely manage to play checkers as his controlling staff shouts out which pieces to move. Former President Trump just demonstrated his mastery of campaign tactics, geo-political implications, and winning domestic policy by inviting Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Mar-a-Lago this past Friday for a wide-ranging meeting. In one fell swoop Trump sent a strong signal to our allies and adversaries alike; fired a shot across the bow of the failing White House, Biden campaign, and the Deep State;

European dislike for the person of Trump, who is cast as the antithesis of the Davos-approved globalist worried about global warming, not interested in chest-beating about Palestine, and demanding that others not treat the US as a "room service" reachable by pressing a button, is running shivers down many spines in Paris and Berlin among other places. This is why many Europeans prefer to see the Democrat donkey rather than the Republican elephant in the room. They miss the fact that the absent, that is present in the room, is neither the elephant nor the donkey but the leviathan.

In the decade I served on a school board, I learned a great deal about group dynamics. The most important lesson, I suppose, is that there are people -- most often highly neurotic people -- who deliberately create chaos. They undermine every effort to rationally deal with issues that require solutions. They violate norms like crediting the work of committees that were designated to analyze what needs to be done and offer solutions for the board to act on, dispiriting those desirous of accomplishing what must be done. They go behind the backs of board members to undercut the systematic workings of the board,
