Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) has reportedly told his colleagues to oppose the idea of term limits, which aligns with his past public statements.
A report from Axios said two sources indicated McConnell told Senate Republicans that “imposing term limits on the Senate leader is a bad idea during a Wednesday meeting about the direction of the conference”:
McConnell was one of several senators who spoke during an hour-and-a-half conference meeting, which was called by conservative Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.). McConnell spoke against imposing term limits for the top GOP position, calling it a bad idea,

Term limits are a good idea because politicians live way too long. Oddly, they are so addicted to power they rarely retire and enjoy their ill gotten gains.

Mitch "MultiUselessMultiFreeze" McConnell knows that with term limits his RINO fetch dogs are at risk. At the "ripe" age of 82, he'll finished his term in January 2027. Born February 20, 1942.

We will never have a chance of getting back our Constitutional Republic without term limits. Election laws are written to re-elect the people who wrote the election laws.

We definitely need term limits. I am sick and tired of seeing people entering Congress with upper middle class wealth (or less) and leaving with multi-millions.

He is calling for term limits for leadership NOT elected representatives. I have mixed feelings when leadership overstays their welcome as did Pelosi and McConnell. But having a term limit in place immediately makes some leaders 'lame ducks' and potentially ineffective.

Term limits are more important then age limits. There are many variations and suggestions but my preference is no one can serve more than 10 years without exception.

The best thing that the wimpy Republicans could do for their Senate delegation is to get rid of McConnell out of the Republican Senate Leadership ASAP!

#11 has the right idea. We need to force the Senators to go back to representing their state, instead of the uniparty.

Mitch kills his own argument. With term limits we would not get career politicians like him who build fortunes through graft and corruption. The thought of a real job must terrify these people.

Thank you very much. I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitresses.
Heard somebody come up with a way to save Social Security and Medicare. Raise the retirement age to that of Congressional leaders and President Biden.

I think it very likely that the country, the Republicans and the Senate wouldn't be in the position they are in right now if there had been term limits on the Rino McConnell. He has hindered much of what the Republican base has wanted accomplished and in my opinion, his only accomplishment was in keeping Garland off the Supreme Court. Term limits sound good to me.
