Former President Donald Trump said Monday that he still believes TikTok poses a national security risk but is opposed to banning the hugely popular app because doing so would help its rival, Facebook, which he continues to lambast over his 2020 election loss.
Trump, in a call-in interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” was asked about his comments last week that seemed to voice opposition to a bill being advanced by Congress that would effectively ban TikTok and other ByteDance apps from the Apple and Google app stores as well as U.S. web hosting services.
“Frankly, there are a lot of people on TikTok that love it.

"The donations [Zuckerbucks]— which were fully permitted under campaign finance law — went to pay for things like equipment to process mail ballots and drive-thru voting locations." Article forgot to add "..strategically focused on increasing Democrat votes."

"even if it's a national security threat."
Is "it" here TikTok? Or Facebook?

Once again, it's all about Trump.
I will vote for Trump, as I did in 2016 and 2020, but I wish he'd focus on issues instead of self.

Trump wanted to ban TikTok from the US when he was President and now he's opposed, he wants to re-federalize abortion so the Donks will be happy even though, under his plan, 90% of abortions would be legal, even though most conservatives want the FBI seriously restructured, trimmed down and the headquarters moved from DC Trump wants it enlarged and in a larger and new building in DC, and now he wants to give Ukraine 60 billion dollars as a "loan". What is it going to take for Magadonians to admit that their idol is a flip-flopper and a very bad deal maker? I'm just sorry that I'm going to have to vote for him again.

Ban all the other Chinese influence in the nation. And Russian influence. And Soros influence. And on and on. Stop dumbing down people would go a long way. I limit my social media. Don't need ANYONE filling my head with rubbish.

Here's what my instinct tells me: The DeepState wants to ban TikTok not because its a national security threat, but because they don't play ball with the DeepState. Virtually all major social media has opened their back door to their databases so the NSA can slurp in the data into their own disk drives (see Edward Snowden). Apparently TikTok isn't so compliant and the DeepState (NSA, CIA, FBI) is using their threat of shutting them down to force them to comply.
Already the DeepState has imposed a free-speech ban on TikTok which is more severe than any other major social media company. My comments on Tiktok get censored far more frequently than other American sites. Just one example: they will not let you use the word "gay". I phonetically spelled the cajun word for "gator" as "gayduh" (which is how they say it) and my comment got removed. AI isn't very smart most of the time.

Tik Tok is a national security threat due to it's Chinese Communist ownership and control. If Tik Tok were sold to a non-problematic owner that would eliminate all vestiges of CCP control that problem would be eliminated without reinforcing Facebook's near-monopoly. A separate issue that needs to be addressed are the "challenges" permitted on the site in which children are urged to commit obviously dangerous or harmful acts.

The weird little guy from Kentucky, Rand Paul, thinks it's a bad idea to ban TikTok.
So Don isn't alone
