A law that New York City progressives passed in 2022 that would have allowed roughly 800,000 non-citizens to vote in local elections was struck down by an appeals court as unconstitutional on Wednesday.
“We determine that this local law was enacted in violation of the New York State Constitution and Municipal Home Rule Law, and thus, must be declared null and void,” Appellate Judge Paul Wooten wrote in the 3-1 majority decision, according to the New York Post.
The judge noted that the state constitution applies only to citizens having the right to vote in municipal as well as statewide elections for state legislative offices.

No worries, this just means more mail in ballots to be filled out. Three each ought to do it.

It won’t matter. Those who want to cheat will still do it. They have no conscience. Biden himself, even though he is senile, has no regard for court rulings. He and the Democrats ARE destroying our democratic republic.

Not a problem. Dems will just up their fraud and cheating game. Crooked poll workers will just "look the other way" and enable non-citizens to vote. It ain't that hard.

Notice how all previous posters have the same view that this will not help keep elections more honest. The correct view, beyond a doubt.

It's the camel's nose. First local, then State, then general election. The mentality behind this is the real threat to liberty and sovereignty.

Totally agree that the law won’t stop them. I’m just incensed at the idea that people who entered my country illegally should have a say in who is elected to represent us.

wish this kind of sentiment could creep over into Massachusetts because I know the illegals will be voting in the General Election on November but with a lack of a Republican Party in this state that will never happen

Hope they have a list of those registered so they can verify if they didn't vote, or did vote.
A message should go out that if they intend to become citizens, but they vote, they will be denied the ability to become citizens.
And, if they have "accidentally" voted in the past, they can come forward to advise they may have "inadvertently" voted - possibly by some ballot harvesting scheme they weren't aware of the ramifications.
I'll bet that alone would get many to be hesitant.

Both NYC and New York have declared themselves sanctuaries for those who have entered the country illegally. They have been very public about declaring their “virtue” in doing so. It did not matter that they were aiding and abetting these illegals in violating our laws. Nor did it matter that boarder states were being overwhelmed by hundreds of thousands of illegals. There attitude they had was the boarder states should live with it! But, when they were confronted with less than 10% of what boarder states had to face on a daily basis, they claimed they were being overwhelmed and wanted the rest of the country pay for it.
Since they insist on putting illegals up in $500 a day hotels and giving them $1000 prepaid credit cards, I think they should learn to live with it! After all, were is their virtue?
