On Friday, Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis finally admitted to having an affair with the prosecutor she hired to oversee the election interference case involving former president Donald Trump. Despite the admission, she denied the allegations of misconduct, insisting there was no evidence that her relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade impacted the case. (snip) “That raises the obvious and important question: If they had nothing to hide in the first place because they did nothing wrong, then why did they intentionally not tell anyone about it until they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar?”

Assuming for purposes of argument that there was nothing wrong with the relationship, the two of them were still required by state bar ethics rules to disclose the relationship to opposing parties and tge court.

Difficult to imagine any meaningful or intelligent pillow talk between these two crooked, horny dolts. What bothers me most is that the Georgia taxpayers paid for this dude to fly to Washington and meet with Biden's White House counsel's office, within the White House, where election-related discussions shouldn't occur. It's the Georgia taxpayers paying the way for "special prosecutor" Nathan Wade to meet with White House counsel, paid by U.S. taxpayers, to conspire to wage lawfare against an opposing political candidate. It's all incestuous, underhanded, illegal fraud on the taxpayers' dime. And the DOJ is rife with this sort of illegal, political conspiring. Does anyone think Nikki Haley would have the chops to clean out the stables at the DOJ? I don't know whether even Trump could accomplish it, but I know he'd try mightily to do so.

Even after all this "sex-crimes" brouhaha, the feckless eGOP will probably be pushing behind the scenes to just get Fanni kicked out on her fanny, as a result of her assuming office, while being in arears with the State of Georgia over some money, a violation of well-established, color-blind law.

From what I have read, Fani did not follow protocol to get her boy toy approved as prosecutor. As such, she did not have the authority to get funds to pay him, and to make things worse, she benefited from the payments. She is doing what Clinton did when he got caught - this is just about sex, and ignoring the broken laws.

In a dramatic setback, House Republicans failed Tuesday to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, forced to shelve a high-profile priority — for now — after a few GOP lawmakers refused to go along with the party’s plan. The stunning roll call fell just a few votes short of impeaching Mayorkas, stalling the Republicans’ drive to punish the Biden administration over its handling of the U.S-Mexico border. With Democrats united against the charges, the Republicans needed almost every vote from their slim majority to approve the articles of impeachment. The House is likely to revisit plans to impeach Mayorkas, but next steps are highly uncertain.
