Andrew Slavitt, the former Biden Administration operative who in 2021 helped conspire to violate my First Amendment rights and make Twitter ban me, has refused to comply with a Congressional subpoena to testify about his actions.
Slavitt’s lawyers told the House Judiciary Committee last Wednesday he would ignore a subpoena ordering him to testify under oath to the committee that day because he “had received a letter from the White House instructing him not to appear.” (snip) In a letter to Slavitt’s attorneys, Richard Sauber, a White House lawyer, said the Biden Administration’s Department of Justice will not prosecute Slavitt - or even bring a civil case against him.

Former President Donald J. Trump predicted in 2019 that sanctuary cities would lead to catastrophe. (snip) "We might as well do what they always say they want. We'll bring the illegals ... to sanctuary city areas, and let that particular area take care of it. Whether it's a state or whatever it might be."
"And let's see if they're so happy. They say, 'We have open arms.' They're always saying they have open arms. Let's see if they have open arms," said Trump.

The American Psychological Association claimed that "[h]iring the most qualified candidate might be unfair" based on one of its recent studies.
The study, titled "Can Selecting the Most Qualified Candidate Be Unfair?," examined people’s perceptions of merit-based hiring after learning more about the socioeconomic status of potential workers. While previewing the results, it argued that hiring the most qualified candidate could contribute to more inequality. (snip) "Members of marginalized racial groups tend to experience socioeconomic disadvantages more often than members of privileged racial groups, and the negative consequences of these disadvantages can be even worse for racial minorities," she said.

On Friday, Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis finally admitted to having an affair with the prosecutor she hired to oversee the election interference case involving former president Donald Trump. Despite the admission, she denied the allegations of misconduct, insisting there was no evidence that her relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade impacted the case. (snip) “That raises the obvious and important question: If they had nothing to hide in the first place because they did nothing wrong, then why did they intentionally not tell anyone about it until they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar?”

It’s sticker shock.
A Florida mom of three has been banned from dropping off and picking up her young from a Florida Christian school because she advertises her lucrative OnlyFans account on an oversize car decal. Michelle Cline, 35, told The Post she is now forced to walk her children across a busy street to get them to class — and that some parents want her family expelled from Liberty Christian Preparatory School in Tavares altogether.
“I don’t think it’s right,” she said. “People are going to be offended by all sorts of things, different bumper stickers, whatever. But at the end of the day, this is something that supports my family.”

Gavin Newsom revealed Wednesday that he once witnessed a shoplifter steal from Target without any interference from workers, one of whom blamed the California governor for emboldened criminals in the state before she realized who he actually was. (snip) Newsom said he was on the Target checkout line when he and a store worker saw the thief waltz out of the store with items he didn’t pay for, according to footage posted online.
“I said, ‘why didn’t you stop him,’” Newsom said. “She goes, ‘oh, the governor.’ Swear to God, true story on my mom’s grave. ‘The governor lowered the threshold, there’s no accountability.’

The Oregon Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that 10 Republican state senators are ineligible to run for reelection after they participated in a quorum-denying walkout for six weeks last year to stall legislation on abortion, transgender treatments and firearms.
The high court decided in favor of Oregon Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade, who had disqualified the senators from running for office again after voters approved a measure in 2022 to amend the state constitution to ban lawmakers with more than 10 unexcused absences from running again.

On Friday, Green Bay Election Observer Janet Angus won an important battle in the fight for transparent elections. (snip) Judge Hock gave a directed verdict for Janet Angus, finding that the city did not meet their burden of proof of disorderly conduct. Judge Hock said “there was absolutely no disturbance.” She then described the city’s actions “absolutely ludicrous” and opined that “this municipal citation was retaliatory due to the Wisconsin Elections complaint that was filed.” These city actions reveal a brazen attempt to silence and intimidate their political critics using city resources.

Fani Willis may have fired the employee who warned her about mishandling federal funds. But she didn't deny her allegations.
Less than a year into her tenure as Fulton County district attorney, in 2021, Willis met with Amanda Timpson, an employee in the district attorney's office responsible for giving nonviolent juvenile offenders "alternatives to the juvenile court system." During their conversation, a recording of which was reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon, Timpson claimed to Willis that she had been demoted after attempting to stop a top Willis campaign aide from misusing federal grant money meant for a youth gang prevention initiative.
