Abu Obeida, the masked spokesman for Hamas’ military wing, threatened on Sunday to kill all the remaining hostages taken during the Oct. 7 attacks unless Israel cedes to demands for more aid and prisoner exchanges.Speaking on a recorded broadcast reviewed by the Times of Israel, Obeida called Israel "fascist" and "arrogant": Neither the fascist enemy and its arrogant leadership… nor its supporters… can take their prisoners alive without an exchange and negotiation and meeting the demands of the resistance. Despite the fact that Israel Defense Forces is rapidly gaining ground in Gaza and large numbers of Hamas fighters have been surrendering, the terror leader vowed

Terrorists do terrorism. This is to drive fear and terror, the same point behind the brutality on 10/7, psychological warfare. At this point Israel just needs to crush them, not play their into their games.

As a rational outside person without a family member in the mix, what would the hostages want? Obviously to be free from the monsters that captured them, but...if their deaths meant Israel finally being free of Hamas, given all of the torture they have already been through, would they choose death? At this point, I suspect many, especially the young women, are praying for it. Plus, how many are actually still alive? The Red Cross isn't allowed in!

The Israeli hostages were as good as dead the day they were taken. Their blood is 100% on hamas' hands!!! Unless Israel wants more and more innocent victims of this muslim savagery, they must exterminate hamas!!!!! Every single one of them!!!!! They must not give hamas another inch, or even listen to their "demands"!!!!! hamas has no right to make any demands!!!!! They just have the right to die for their evil actions!!!!!

Of course. The dying gasp of losers. This would constitute a war crime punishable by execution to any Hamas fighters left. Israel should inform them if they should kill the hostages, all remaining Hamas soldiers, whether surrendering or not, will be summarily shot on site. That will certainly help any prison overcrowding and expense.

I believe you must do what you say you will do and Netanyahu promised to eliminate every Hamas savage that was involved in this massacre. He must follow through or his word means nothing. Hamas has most likely saved those kidnapped who are in the worst shape for last. They may not want to release those who are on the brink of death or in terrible condition because that would effect public opinion. At this point who in their right mind could support this carnage, but they are out there. We have seen it in this country to their great shame. This is Israel’s call but reasonable people want to see the complete destruction of Hamas. It would be a good start. I doubt it would be a learning experience for radical Islam because all they know is savagery and barbarism against any infidel but right now it is focused on Israel and it’s people. Never forget that these terrorists are maniacal killers who hate anyone who does not submit to Islam. And they will come for us just give them time. I’m not going to lie, I want to see Hamas crushed and every supporter given the same treatment. Evil cannot be appeased.

And if Israel agrees to Hamas' demands, then Hamas will regroup, and instead of just killing the remaining 130 hostages, will continue to kill thousands of Israeli civilians...just as they have repeatedly done in the past, and promise to continue doing. Sounds like an easy decision for the Israelis...sacrifice the 130 hostages for to prevent the thousands of future killings.

Israel can shoot the Hamas terrorists on site as many have suggested, but that will not sway the Hamas leaders from their mission. The general Hamas soldiers are just disposable pawns to them. The leaders sit safely in their luxury apartments or villas in Hamas friendly countries safely away from the fighting. They will have the hostages killed without a second thought thinking they are safe. A few precisely aimed missiles at leaders homes would do a lot to end the conflict quickly.

Until the Red Cross confirms the viability of the remaining hostages, Hamas has nothing to bargain with. That should be an iron and immediate requirement. The hostages are not soldiers engaged in action against an enemy, they were civilians or troops not actively engaged in fighting. A "truce" had been agreed with Hamas, one that Hamas quickly an eagerly broke in the most gruesome way. Hamas is not an honest broker and they need to put up "proof of like and safe conditions" for the hostages before any other steps are negotiated. Period. The cost to Hamas is that the leadership and participants, in the raid into Israel and continued assaults and against civilians in Israel from within Gaza, should be treated as war criminals for the original assault into Israel and the mistreatment of hostages.

The Israelis should be using ammunition with bullets, bombs and shells coated with pig fat. This is no joke. The Muslims believe that if your body is contaminated with anything from a hog you cannot get into Allah's paradise, even if you are a jihadi. To their way of thinking, simply killing them in a fight with infidels gets them an automatic entry into heaven and a stable of 72 virgins. So, contaminating their carcasses with hog fat, or blood, or anything else from hog nullifies their entry into paradise but guarantees an eternity of torment. In other words, fight them on their own psychological/theological terms.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump’s election interference case in Washington will be put on hold while the former president further pursues his claims that he is immune from prosecution, a judge ruled Wednesday. The decision from U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan raises the likelihood that Trump’s trial on charges of plotting to overturn the 2020 election, currently scheduled for March 4, will be postponed as the appeal of a legally untested argument winds through the courts. The issue is of paramount significance to both sides given that a court ruling in Trump’s favor would presumably derail the case and because a protracted appeal could result in a significant postponement of the proceedings,

As Cop28 in Dubai enters its final hours, the emotional weight of the moment is hard to bear. I find myself thinking of a six-year-old boy called Desmond I met in Turkana county, Kenya, who died from severe acute malnutrition on the same day. His death was the result of a climate-induced drought that has left millions of people on the brink of starvation in the Horn of Africa. I want the negotiators deciding the outcome of Cop28 to know Desmond’s story. Because in the end, the climate crisis is not about pledges, statistics, reports or activists. It’s about human suffering and ruined lives. It’s about death.

The Democratic mayor of Boston has sparked outrage after inviting city councilors to a holiday party intended only for 'electeds of color.' Michelle Wu's invitation for the December 13 'Electeds of Color Holiday Party' appeared to have been sent out to all councilors in error by her aide, Denise DosSantos. The nearly 200 member countries gathered at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai agreed to transition away from fossil fuels “in a just, orderly and equitable manner” before entirely eliminating carbon emissions by 2050. While previous U.N. climate agreements committed member states to work toward slowing global warming, the deal announced Wednesday was the first to include an explicit commitment to do away with “fossil fuels.”

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Alex Wagner Tonight” that she believes Democrats are fighting for freedoms that Republicans are taking away with book bans. The former speaker claimed books in school that have been classics “are now burned.” Wagner said, “Some of the priorities for these Republican lawmakers in a vacuum. The most egregious things really stand out. Among them their war on reproductive freedom and the most recent comments from their informal head, their front runner, Donald Trump, who wants to replace Obamacare.” Pelosi said, “Yes, imagine that. When he was president he said repeal and replace. He had no replacement, he just wanted to repeal
