IDF messaging suggests Gaza truce unlikely

Gaza’s truce is unlikely to last significantly beyond Tuesday, with Israel’s military stepping up pressure on Sunday to restart the air and ground offensive in a campaign that some experts predict could run into next year. The four-day halt in fighting, described by the Israel DefenceForces (IDF) as “an operational pause”, is scheduled to end on 7am on Tuesday if the agreed transfer of 50 hostages held by Hamas and others in Gaza goes to plan. There is an expectation in many quarters that the pause will be extended for a few days, and the current agreement allows for an extra day’s truce for every 10 hostages Hamas is willing

Israel never should have entered into a cease fire with these subhuman savages. They need to go back on the offensive and not stop until Hamas is exterminated off the face of the Earth like the vermin that they are!!!!! Make sure that the Palestinian civilians understand that if Hamas is not destroyed and all hostages are not returned unharmed within 24 hours, then Gaza will become a demilitarized zone with no inhabitants. They can all go live with their "supporters" in Iran!!! I'm done. Israel needs to finish this and finish it quickly!!!!!

Ditto #1. The IDF has appeased the squishy peace-mongers in the US and the UN and I'm sure Hamas got the better end of the deal, now get on with the job and finish off these mentally ill barbarians. They can play the hostage game forever, that's why they took those people. Don't let Obama and Biden mess with your safety.

Israel entered this war not to negotiate truces and prisoners-for-hostages swaps -- they did it to eradicate Hamas. The leftists and anti-Semites got their wish. There was a ceasefire, numerous Hamas terrorists undoubtedly fled south, and some hostages were returned. (Were you surprised that some of them were neither Israelis nor Americans?) Enough of this silliness. Time to get back to work destroying Hamas.

Disney CEO Bob Iger focused on instilling employees with renewed optimism about the Mouse House’s “blessed” and “fortunate” state during a virtual company-wide town hall Tuesday, rather than making any proclamations about the company’s future. The event, moderated by ABC News anchor David Muir, was held just over a week after the one-year anniversary of Iger’s return to the helm at Disney (Iger hosted a similar town hall exactly a year ago to the day, upon resuming his post last November) following the surprise ousting of Bob Chapek, and on the heels of Disney reporting its most recent quarterly and full-fiscal-year earnings and taking a stumble at the Thanksgiving holiday

The White House said Tuesday that it opposes Israel’s plan to attack Hamas terrorists in the southern portion of the Gaza Strip unless it can provide an “accounting” for all of the internally displaced Palestinian civilians in the war. White House National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby spoke to reporters on Air Force One, and said: “We don’t support southern operations, unless or until the Israelis can show that they’ve accounted for all the internally displaced people of Gaza.” Asked whether that meant the White House was abandoning support for Israel’s goal of eliminating Hamas,

A Big Mac burger, a medium beverage, and a medium fry meal now costs 18 dollars in some locations, up $10 from 2018 when former President Donald Trump was president. The skyrocketing costs could impact the 2024 election, as the soaring inflation under President Joe Biden reflects poorly on his economic plan of so-called “Bidenomics.” The Big Mac Value Meal’s price increase is just one example of continued inflation, the New York Post’s editorial board reported: Those [“President Biden’s terrible economic policies”] have driven prices overall about 15% higher since Biden came in; on essentials like food and energy, they’re up closer to 25%. Equivalently, think of it as having slashed

A New York Republican jump-started the process to expel his embattled colleague, Rep. George Santos (R-NY), from the House, teeing up a likely vote on Thursday. Rep. Anthony D'Esposito (R-NY) noticed a motion to expel Santos as privileged on Tuesday night, which means the House will now have two legislative days to take a vote. The resolution was originally filed by House Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Guest (R-MS) nearly two weeks ago, but D'Esposito's move to expedite the process comes hours after two House Democrats filed their own privileged resolution to oust Santos.

Mark Cuban, the billionaire owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, will reportedly sell a majority stake in the team to billionaire Miriam Adelson, widow of late businessman Sheldon Adelson, according to multiple reports. The Mavericks and Cuban didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Adelson said in a Las Vegas Sands filing earlier Tuesday she would sell $2 billion in stock to buy a majority stake in a sports franchise. But no franchise was named in the filing despite it saying there was a "binding purchase agreement." Sportico first reported that Cuban was going to sell to Adelson. The Athletic reported the deal

"Disney appears to acknowledge that Smith’s invisible hand is giving the ‘House of Mouse’ the middle finger. In a new corporate disclosure, Disney acknowledges that its controversial political and social agenda is costing the company and shareholders," Turley wrote in a piece for The Hill.
