After last Tuesday’s dismal GOP election results, everyone is looking for a Republican to blame. The usual target is not always the right one, as Vivek Ramaswamy’s crusade against RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel shows.[Snip]Republicans, McDaniel argued, need to be focused on taking on Joe Biden--not each other. And one way they’ve really fallen short is on core issues, like abortion.[Snip]Let’s talk about pregnancy [care] centers. Let’s talk about getting rid of cumbersome regulation to adoption. But let’s also put the Democrats on the defense because they stand for late-term abortion. They stand for gender-selection abortion.”

The next election will not be won or lost on the abortion issue.

Showing the Dems to be pro-abortion extremists will do nothing. This boils down to women wanting choice, and they couldn't care less if the entire world was in flames, their vote is going to the pro-choice guy! Get used to the idea and deal with it, or you can stand on principles and never ever win another election!

FTA: "But, she (McDaniel) warned, 'a lot of our candidates and consultants are afraid to tackle this issue' regardless. And until they start explaining where they stand compared to where their Democratic opponents do, this will continue to plague Republicans. 'We will win, but you’ve got to put money behind it. You can’t [stake out your position] behind a paywall or on a phone call. You’ve got to put money defining yourself before the Democrats do, because they will … [say] things that are total lies. … And when a lie goes unanswered, it becomes truth.'"
This is the most important point, as posts #1 and #2 bear testimony. Republicans and conservatives are too willing to concede the abortion issue to the Democrats whimpering, "It's the woman's choice, the Democrats have this issue sewed up, we can't win it, no use to argue over it any more." These same people will fight tooth and nail over taxes, gun control, and illegal immigration; but become squeamish, cowardly and ready to throw in the towel when it comes to defending the most defenseless of humanity...a baby in the womb.
If America is not willing to defend life in the womb, then how can we claim any right to life and liberty for ourselves - the lucky few who get to live? What then is the value that our government puts on life? Did you get your Covid vaccine? What type of treatment protocols did our government prescribe for Covid hospitalizations? Remdesivir anyone?
The cowardly conservatives have allowed themselves to be cowed by the loud liberals about abortion since the 1970's. They stood silently while media wolves tore apart the reputations of fine women such as Anita Bryant and Phyllis Schlafly. They allowed the rabid NOW nags to define the murder of innocents, in the very womb of their mothers, as a "sacred right of choice". They perverted motherhood into a death cult. What began as a "simple procedure done at six to eight weeks" has now progressed to Partial Birth Abortion Up Until Days Before Birth!
This is the Reality in our Country Right Now! I will never stop fighting for life, whether or not an election will be won or lost on it. I will also never get used to the idea, or deal with it. I will proudly stand on principles today and lose a damn election in this life, than not have principles and be damned in the next life.

I think there are other conservative issues that get no attention than the old polarizing issue of abortion, which plays into liberal talking points. The Supreme Court turned the issue over the states and it's a states battle, not as much a national issue.

Menopausal women, lesbians may not weigh in on abortion. Nothing to do with them. Ditto grandmas.

Forget the argument about being outspent by the dims on abortion. The point is clear, either you want the ability to kill the baby in your womb or you believe it is a sin and murder. Face it we are surrounded by mainly young women (not all of course) who have lost the moral belief that the life they have created is also their right to end. I find it totally disgusting that females who are the protectors of the young in every species on this planet are so inclined to murder their own.

instead, i suggest it would be better to tak about life/choice with the goal of both sides coming together to find answers that better suit everybody. slowly as we talk, both sides wil understand each other better. this is the way to protect life and democracy and friendship all at once. it has not been possible since Roe v Wade since discussion was prohibited.

apology for 2nd: Roe v Wade did not prohibit private discussion, but it rendered it insignificant since nothing was at stake.

Democrats always have a multi-step plan in their agendas. Republicans get one step done, slap each other on the back and congratulae themselves with, "well,we got that done" and then they drop it. They should have known how voraciously aggressive the pro-abortion zealots would become after
Roe v Wade was overturned and had a plan to continue the fight.

The democrats made crude commercials showing republicans pushing granny off a cliff, surely we can come up with commercials about the brutality of abortion. Democrats are pro abortion--get away from this pro choice phrase.

Forget the pro-life issue. Put it on the back burner. No one is going to want to essentially give the government the power and authority to force every woman to carry every pregnancy to term.
The economy, stupid.
The economy, stupid.
The economy, stupid.
If you can prove that you have a way to reign in inflation and make homes and groceries affordable again, and can control immigration so that jobs aren’t lost to illegals, and can make the military strong again, then you have a case for winning the election. You do those things and win. And then you can tackle abortion.
If you can’t or won’t do those things, then you won’t win, and you won’t deserve to win.

Obviating the immediate knee-jerk reaction of disdain by some for Ms. McDaniel, her points of view presented in this article are worthy of consideration.
