JERUSALEM, Israel — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeated his opposition Saturday night to a proposal by U.S. President Joe Biden to restore control of Gaza to the Palestinian Authority (PA) once Hamas is removed from power and destroyed. On Saturday, Biden published an op-ed in the Washington Post in which he supported Israel, though once again joining the Israeli cause to the Ukrainian one, putting Hamas and Russia in the same category as enemies of the United States.Biden also reiterated his support for a “two-state solution” as the only answer to the conflict, and added: “As we strive for peace, Gaza and the West Bank should be reunited

I'm not sure what changed over at NBC, but for the first time in years, Saturday Night Live actually produced a funny, relevant sketch.
In a move I don't think anyone would have predicted, the once-lauded comedy show took on the topic of men competing against women in sports. (X Video) Mimicking Netflix's "Untold Stories" series, the skit tells the story of Charna Lee Diamond and Ronnie Dunster. You have to watch it to get the full effect, but the brief summary is that things go badly when the tennis match starts between the two. Milei will take office on December 10.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina— Argentines cast their votes for a new president Sunday in a fiercely polarizing runoff that will determine whether South America’s second-largest economy takes a rightward shift amid soaring inflation and rising poverty.
Populist candidate Javier Milei, who got his start as a television talking head, has frequently been compared to former U.S. President Donald Trump. He and Economy Minister Sergio Massa of the Peronist party, which has been a leading force in Argentine politics for decades, were competing in the runoff.
Less than a year before election day 2024, the number of retirements in the House and the Senate may break a record for this cycle.
Thirty-four members of Congress have already announced they were not seeking re-election, including Senator Joe Manchin whose West Virginia Senate seat has moved from "Leans Republican" to "Safe Republican" in the Sabato Crystal Ball ratings.Few retirements in Congress will lead to that kind of a decisive difference. Former President Donald Trump said over the weekend that he will withdraw the United States from the Pacific trade deal currently being advanced by President Joe Biden.
Trump made the comments at a campaign event in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Saturday evening, as Biden returned from unveiling the trade agreement at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in California. The former president told supporters that the new deal, which is still being worked out, would cause U.S. manufacturing jobs to be shipped overseas.

Why? It didn't help the narrative that she had been pushing, when it showed people being escorted through the building by the Capitol police -- behaving peacefully -- with protesters and police even shaking hands.

Here’s a story that by my account, flew relatively under the radar—according to an October Facebook post by an organization of firefighters in Hollywood, Florida:
On Sunday Oct 1st, a Tesla Model S [sic] was attempting to back a jet ski into the water at the Polk Street boat ramp, when it lost traction and slid into the inter-coastal [sic]. The salt water reacted with the the [sic] vehicle’s electronics causing them to short, sparking a fire that burned underwater for an extended period of time.

The Army now appears to be trying to bring back into service soldiers it kicked out over the Biden administration’s policy to remove servicemembers who rejected the coronavirus vaccine mandate, according to a letter from the Army several former soldiers posted online.
The letter, addressed to “Former Service Member,” states that there is new Army guidance that would correct military records of those kicked out, which would enable those who were removed and had their DD-214s marked with a certain code barring them from reentering service to be able to return.

The Washington Post reported Saturday night (in Israel, Sunday morning) that a tentative deal had been reached in which there would be a five-day pause in fighting in Gaza in exchange for the release of at least 50 female and child hostages by Hamas.
No men would be released under the deal, and no male or female soldiers, according to the Post, which cited unnamed officials describing an agreement brokered by the U.S. and Qatar as intermediaries between Israel and the Hamas terror organization.

A U.S. Postal Service (USPS) employee and two others were arrested for a scheme involving stealing over $24 million in checks from the mail and selling them online, prosecutors say.
The postal worker, Nakedra Shannon, 29, was employed by the USPS as a mail processing clerk at a processing and distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to a statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of North Carolina.
Shannon allegedly worked alongside two co-conspirators, Donnell Gardner, 27, and Desiray Carter, 24, to steal incoming and outgoing checks from April to July 2023. The co-conspirators then sold the checks through the Telegram channel “OG Glass House,” per the statement.
