Elite universities across the U.S. received over $33 billion in grants and contracts from the federal government since 2018, according to OpenTheBooks.
Ten elite universities with large endowments have taken billions of federal tax dollars, according to a new report from OpenTheBooks. The collective endowments of these universities grew from $172.2 billion in 2018 to $237 billion by the end of 2022, and the endowments reaped a collective $12 billion in special tax treatment benefits during that time frame. “With the U.S. taxpayer subsidies, tax-breaks and federal payments into these ten elite universities pushing $7 billion per year, it’s time to revisit the definition of a public charity.

The stars in their courses just might be aligning for a Donald Trump victory in 2024 — just as they did in 2016. And the most recent evidence of that is Univision appearing to change its tune toward the former president.
The top-rated Spanish speaking television network is under new management and has taken a much more favorable view of Trump than it did during 2020.
The Mexican media company Grupo Televisa merged with Univision in 2022 to create TelevisaUnivision, Variety reported.
In a Tuesday article, The Washington Post noted — with a clear subtext of distress — the rapprochement between Trump and Univision.

Chinese flags parading through the streets of San Francisco ahead of President Joe Biden’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping have been met with backlash as videos circulate on social media.
“Oh look, San Francisco turned into China for President Xi’s arrival,” the Post Millennial’s Katie Daviscourt wrote on X, along with a video of Chinese flags lining the city’s streets as Xi’s motorcade drives by. “Finally revealing it’s [sic] true colors,” she added. (X Video) “San Francisco looks so much better with Chinese flags. Not a single American flag or homeless person in sight,” commentator Ian Miles Cheong said.

Joe Biden and Xi Jinping met for the first time in over a year for high-stakes talks on Wednesday to try and bury the hatchet amid dangerously escalating tensions between Washington and Beijing.
Their encounter began with a warm double-clasped handshake, and a declaration by Xi that the world is 'big enough' for both countries, despite years of rising rhetoric and provocations.
'The China-U.S. relationship has never been smooth sailing and always faces problems of one kind or another,' Xi said through a translator as he met Biden.

Don Tapia, a Trump-backer who served as U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica under former President Donald Trump, is making it crystal clear that his allegiance is behind the former president rather than Gov. Ron DeSantis, explaining why other major donors are turned off by the Florida governor well over five months into his presidential bid.
In February, Politico described Tapia as one of many “defectors” who was leaving Trump for DeSantis. At the time, the outlet reported that he “gave more than $50,000 to DeSantis’ reelection bid and hosted a pair of fundraisers for him” and asserted that donors were growing “tired of Trump’s attacks on DeSantis.”

Ronna McDaniel is the CEO of the Republican Party. The GOP is a failed political party. When the CEO presides over a failing organization, it’s time to fire the CEO.
The Republican Party is a joke. The GOP is weak, feckless, pathetic, cowardly, scared of its own shadow, not to mention bribed, bought and paid for. Almost the entire GOP leadership is either morons, scared of being cancelled, or in bed with the enemy- paid to lose elections.
That starts at the top with Ronna McDaniel, Chairwoman of the Republican Party- otherwise known as “Romney 2.0.” That’s her Uncle by the way- Mitt Romney, the loser.

The White House said Tuesday that U.S. intelligence indicates that Hamas fighters used tunnels beneath hospitals in Gaza to conceal its military operations, amid a furious debate over Israel's bombing campaign and advancing forces.
White House National Security Spokesman John Kirby spoke to reporters on Air Force One about theuse of the infamous tunnel network as President Joe Biden made his way to San Francisco for the APEC summit.

The man accused of attacking former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) husband, Paul, with a hammer took the stand in his own defense on Tuesday.
David DePape got emotional at times when asked about his political views and how he went down a conspiracy theory rabbit hole that led him to believe outlandish things about multiple people, including the longtime California legislator.DePape, who is facing a life sentence, testified he would listen to political podcasts and YouTube videos for hours and became consumed by them. He said he let what he heard on mostly right-wing sites influence his thinking, even as the claims made became more fantastical.
