Climate activist Greta Thunberg was briefly interrupted Sunday by a man who approached her on stage after she invited a Palestinian and an Afghan woman to speak at a climate protest in the Dutch capital. (snip) “As a climate justice movement, we have to listen to the voices of those who are being oppressed and those who are fighting for freedom and for justice. Otherwise, there can be no climate justice without international solidarity,” Thunberg said. After the Palestinian and Afghan women spoke and Thunberg resumed her speech, a man came onto the stage and told her: “I have come here for a climate demonstration, not a political view,”

Such profundity: 'As a climate justice movement, we have to listen to the voices of those who are being oppressed and those who are fighting for freedom and for justice.' Thunberg said.

This girl is what we'd call 'slightly special.' She has been used by her parents for whatever reason. It's sad and sickening. She doesn't realize she's being used and laughed at. That Hogg kid, I think, was a plant and was supposed to be the voice of that school shooting. He screwed up, tho, and didn't go to school that day. No idea why anything thinks he matters now.

The Biden administration may approve a sanctions waiver on Tuesday that will allow Iran to access at least $10 billion in previously frozen funds held in Iraq, a closely watched decision that comes just a month after the Tehran-backed terror group Hamas launched an attack on Israel that left 1,200 dead. The waiver would extend the multibillion-dollar sanctions relief first issued in July that expires tomorrow. It allows Iraq to transfer frozen electricity payments into Iranian-owned bank accounts in Europe and Oman.

House Democrats, with the help of a small group of Republicans, on Monday successfully blocked an effort led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., to impeach Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas in a straight up or down vote. The final vote tally was 209-201, with eight Republicans joining all Democrats in support of the latter party's motion to stop that floor vote, and instead refer the impeachment resolution introduced by Greene to the House Homeland Security Committee. Twenty-four members — 12 Democrats and 12 Republicans — did not vote on the measure.

California governor Gavin Newsom admitted on Thursday that the massive effort to clean up the streets of San Francisco in the leadup to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit was undertaken simply because world leaders were coming to town. The Golden City has been criticized by residents and visitors alike for years now over its rampant homelessness, open-air drug use, and general disarray, problems that Newsom vowed to address for the good of the people. "I know folks say, 'Oh, they’re just cleaning up this place because all these fancy leaders are coming into town'," Newsom said during a press conference, adding, "That's true because it's true."

In the aftermath of another disappointing election night for Republicans, questions need to be asked about supposedly non-partisan get-out-the-vote (GOTV) operations Democrats are using to ensure their low-propensity voters – and only their low-propensity voters – get to the polls. On March 7, 2021, Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting, President Joe Biden instructed every federal agency to submit a plan to leverage their agency’s personnel and assets to help turn out the vote. For example, agencies might use internal data to identify aid recipients who are not registered to vote, then use agency personnel to get them registered and ensure their ballot is cast and counted.
