Anyone following the news might be confused by recent talk of offshore wind projects in trouble, automakers pulling back on EV production, and now multi-billion-dollar bailouts for the green-energy industry. How could that be, since President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats rammed through $370 billion in “clean” energy subsidies a little more than a year ago? When Biden signed the criminally misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act” in August 2022, he boasted that it was “the most aggressive action ever — ever, ever, ever — in confronting the climate crisis and strengthening our economic — our energy security.”

It's not working. There aren't enough windmills and solar panels to supply the rush hour of one day's work, much less still have enough to get home and cook a meal.

The name of the legislation was a lie and we have no idea what else is in that legislation. Even if you don't buy one of those horrible lithium battery electric automobiles, you are subsidizing them when you buy a gasoline powered car. The automakers are fined for not producing some large percentage of EV.

The only thing green about Green Energy is the money it puts in the pockets of Turniphead and his insiders. They want to force the public into an energy-supply version of three card Monte: wind, solar and buffalo chips.

The pay off is pretty good if you are a grifter. If you are an ordinary citizen and energy consumer, you get to pay the pay off. To paraphrase senator Everett Dirksen, a trillion here and a trillion there and pretty soon you are talking real money.

Slightly OT but one of my biggest complaints about the recent elections in Virginia where I live is that I didn't hear any of the R candidates (now granted - I may have missed it) say that if the Rs take control of the state's Senate and increase our numbers in the House that Gov Youngkin can finally pull Virginia out of its agreement with California to follow their car emissions standards that the previous Gov Northam ensnarled the state in. Why the heck should Virginia follow California's car emissions standards? And if we cannot pull out then all cars sold in Virginia in 2035 will have to be electric. And btw - there is a huge offshore wind turbine "farm" planned to be constructed off the Virginia coast that is almost as huge as the one off of NJ. IS that what V Virginia's really want?

"Green energy" like anything "green"....except green paint, perhaps, means "doesn't work properly and costs far, far too much". Across the board "green" or "clean" energy is a painful, inconvenient, expensive pain in the wallet.

When it comes to the Israel-Hamas war, Americans have made a clear choice: a significant majority support Israel, not Hamas, while an even larger majority now call antisemitism a “serious” problem, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll reveals. But a shockingly high 20% of Democrats say they support Hamas in the current conflict, despite reports of blood-curdling barbarism committed against innocent Israeli men, women, and children. Just over half of Democrats say they support Israel. Amid the backdrop of the Oct. 7 attacks against Israel by the terrorist group Hamas, I&I/TIPP asked Americans this question:

In our decades of experience covering politics, we’ve never seen a poll as devastating to an incumbent president as the one CBS News/YouGov poll published over the weekend. The short version is that more voters think they would be better off if Donald Trump returns to the White House than they would if Joe Biden stays there. Think about that for a moment. Then there’s the New York Times/Sienna College poll, also published over the weekend, showing that Trump leads Biden in five key swing states, and by wide margins: 10 points in Nevada, 6 points in Georgia, 5 in Arizona and Michigan, and 4 points in Pennsylvania.

The media are worried about the low COVID vaccination rate as winter approaches. The lockdown lovers and mandate militants of the press are doing their best to gin up yet another round of COVID hysteria. A robust resistance is called for. The government’s response to the coronavirus outbreak, cheered on by a legacy media that is clearly dominated by neurotics, violated fundamental liberties and caused more health problems than it solved. We were encouraged last week by a long article in New York magazine topped with the headline: “COVID Lockdowns Were a Giant Experiment. It Was a Failure.” Finally,

In recent weeks, we’ve seen a number of pundits, columns, and articles predict the imminent demise of the odious and anti-American “woke” movement. As Shakespeare once said, ” ‘Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished.” But if woke is indeed passing on, it sure is taking its time. What do we mean by “woke”? It’s the extreme-left mindset encouraged by the “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion” movement, the ugly offspring of Marxism and critical race theory. Its intent is all-inclusive, covering the entirety of culture, social interactions, and commerce. Indeed, the movement’s ultimate goal

In his book “Barack Obama’s Rules for Revolution,” David Horowitz, a New Left movement founder in the 1960s, refers to a member of the radical Students for a Democratic Society who “once wrote, ‘The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.’ In other words the cause – whether inner city blacks or women – is never the real cause, but only an occasion to advance the real cause which is the accumulation of power to make the revolution.” Now apply that to the tussle over man’s impact on the climate and things become much clearer. In the minds of the climate alarmists, the revolution looks like

Now that they can’t use COVID to scare the public into submission, Democrats – from President Joe Biden on down – are working on Plan B. Shouting “Democracy is at risk!” every chance they get. That’s become the default line for the left. This weekend, when CBS News reporter Bill Whitaker asked Vice President Kamala Harris about the possibility of Biden dying in office, her response was: “Let me just tell you, I’m focused on the job. Our democracy is on the line, Bill. And I frankly in my head do not have time for parlor games when we have a president

This weekend, hundreds of millions of Americans will dutifully set their clocks back one hour, convincing themselves that they’ve “gained” an hour – despite spending at least part of it resetting all their timepieces. Americans should instead refuse to play along. Few government mandates combine such utter pointlessness and serious public health harms than the twice-a-year switch on and off Daylight Saving Time. It’s time to end the madness. First, despite its label, “Daylight Saving Time” does not save daylight. It doesn’t even save energy. Two studies looked at energy use before and after changes in DST laws.

Whether it’s the Russia-Ukraine war, or the Israeli-Hamas war, NATO remains a big part of U.S. decision-making. Indeed, the U.S.-led postwar alliance has lasted 75 years, and it’s fair to say that nearly everything the U.S. does overseas involves NATO, directly or indirectly. But increasingly, average Americans are uneasy about the alliance, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. A significant number of Americans, though not yet a majority, feel the burdens of the U.S.’ NATO leadership as unfairly distributed, according to the online I&I/TIPP Poll of 1,378 adults taken from Sept. 27-29 The first question was

Many people have climbed aboard the electric-vehicle bandwagon, lured by promises of pristine air and cheap, easy-to-use electricity that make EVs seem inevitable. But now, after years of spending billions on subsidies and shaming people into buying into our inevitable all-electric future, some are slamming on the brakes — surprisingly, including many of the biggest companies in the industry. The global companies, recipients of massive subsidies to support fossil-fuel abolition, are backing away from their support. General Motors, faced with a strike, just abandoned its EV strategy,

It’s been quite clear for more than two decades that some people in the West just have to have global warming. They want it. They need it. It’s their oxygen. It is to these close-minded, irrational, sometimes neurotic and too-often grifting people that we dedicate this editorial. To follow up on Wednesday’s editorial, we’ll point out: The very folks who screech the most about the emergency of climate change don’t live their lives as if they believe that it’s an existential threat. Barack Obama owns a pair of coastal mansions that will be underwater within years if some of the warming alarmists’ forecasts are correct.

A new study out of Norway is exactly what was needed to shut down the climate alarmists. Its findings show that man has not set fire to his home planet. Right from the top, in the abstract not 10 lines into the study, the authors get to the point. “Using theoretical arguments and statistical tests we find,” the researchers say, “that the effect of man-made CO2 emissions does not appear to be strong enough to cause systematic changes in the temperature fluctuations during the last 200 years.” In other words, our words, the greenhouse effect is so weak

Water Tower Place, an eight-story, 758,000 sq. ft. high-end shopping mall in downtown Chicago, is in the news. Once one of the biggest and most exciting malls in the Midwest, it quietly leaked that the owners are interested in renting out the top five of its eight floors “for purposes other than retail.” Not just wealthy shoppers, but even browsing tourists, too, it seems, are staying away in droves. Chicago could support such a luxury mall once. The Magnificent Mile was a thrilling destination for generations. What happened to Chicago’s iconic Michigan Boulevard? Dershowitz suggested Obama’s criticism was a result of the “deep hatred” Obama had for Israel. “Do you think Obama understands what his words have meant?” FBN host Maria Bartiromo asked. “I think so,” Dershowitz replied. “I think he always had a deep hatred of Israel in his heart. Rahm Emanuel once famously stated, “never let a good crisis go to waste.” This phrase expresses the idea that crisis often breeds opportunity. On Wednesday, the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined the co-hosts of “The View” to do just that. Hilary seized the moment to offer her perspective on the similarities between Hitler and Donald Trump and what that could mean for the 2024 election. According to Clinton, she previously discussed the concept of “one and done.” This referred to elected individuals who sought to eliminate future elections, opposition, and a free press after their legitimate election.

Does the Washington Post have any credibility at all? They censored this cartoon below after a few critics absurdly howled 'racism' -- all for depicting a Hamas spokesman accurately, and creating a thoughtful message that Hamas's howls about civilian attacks are disingenuous, given Hamas's war on Israeli civilians, including the 200-some hostages they hold. upposedly, they complained about the nose, expropriating from the complaints of caricatures directed against Jews done by anti-Semites. Yeah, sure. Did they want a little turned-up button nose on him? And is Ramirez supposed to depict a terrorist spokesman holding hostages flatteringly?
