In the first major escalation of the House Oversight Committee's investigation into Biden family corruption, Hunter Biden and James Biden have been subpoenaed along with Rob Walker, a former business associate of the president's son.Rep. James Comer first hinted at the move on Sunday, suggesting that a slate of subpoenas would be on the way. Several others, including James Biden's wife, have also been requested to come in for transcribed interviews. It seems unlikely most would comply voluntarily.(Snip)Negotiations will commence in short order to figure out exactly when those subpoenaed will have to appear. It's very likely that all interviews will happen behind closed doors

In 2005, Palestinian Arabs were given autonomy over the Gaza Strip for the first time in their history. To make it happen, the Israeli government forcibly removed thousands of Israelis from the area. Without military protection, Jews would be murdered by Palestinians, who prefer their land Judenfrei.
As Jews were being evicted from their homes, some began to dismantle the farms and hothouses they’d built, reluctant to hand over years of hard work. In the name of peace, however, American Jewish donors purchased the 3,000 remaining greenhouses that stood over 1,000 acres for $14 million and gave it to the Palestinian Authority, gratis.

Special counsel David Weiss, who has run a more than five-year federal investigation into first son Hunter Biden, appeared Tuesday before the House Judiciary Committee to answer questions about the probe.
“Special Counsel Weiss is appearing voluntarily to testify before the House Judiciary Committee about the scope of his authority,” Weiss spokesman Wyn Hornbuckle said in a statement.
“Mr. Weiss is prepared to take this unprecedented step of testifying before the conclusion of his investigation to make clear that he’s had and continues to have full authority over his investigation and to bring charges in any jurisdiction.

Political motives lie not far beneath the surface of everything Congress does. That is appropriate in a democracy. But we expect the House, and especially the Senate, to retain at least some pretense of exercising its powers in the public interest. Instead, the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are abusing its investigatory powers simply to campaign against Leonard Leo and Harlan Crow.
Dick Durbin, Sheldon Whitehouse, and their committee will reportedly vote within the next two weeks to subpoena Leo and Crow, as well as Robin Arkley II, who is targeted over a fishing trip with Justice Samuel Alito 15 years ago.

Paul has done an excellent job covering President Biden’s double-game of trotting out ostensibly pro-Israel positions for public consumption while privately moving to scuttle Israel and advance the interests of Hamas (and hence Iran). But tonight Joe, with the indiscipline that comes with his advanced age, and without a teleprompter to keep him on his (public) message, said it out loud. As reported by CBS:
President Joe Biden said he thought there should be a humanitarian "pause" in the Israel-Hamas war, after his campaign speech Wednesday evening was interrupted by a protester calling for a cease-fire.
"I think we need a pause," Biden said.

President Biden is facing growing concerns among independent voters as polling shows lackluster approval from a key group in deciding who wins the White House.
A Gallup poll released last week shows Biden’s approval rating among independents fell 4 points in the past month to 35 percent. The report noted the president’s approval has been “generally weak” with that group since July 2021 — after he logged 61 percent approval from independents at the start of his term.“The independent vote just becomes more and more important in every cycle. And it can really make a margin,” said Democratic strategist Jon Reinish.

When Hamas terrorists released 85-year-old peace activist Yocheved Lifschitz for the fawning press to record on Monday, she was kind enough to give them another small propaganda win on her way back to Israel.Lifschitz and her husband, Oded, were taken hostage from the Nir Oz kibbutz by Hamas terrorists on motorcycles during the October 7 terror invasion of Israel. Their daughter Sharone told the Times of Israel, “They’re no longer the kind of people who can survive without medications… Mom was ripped out of her machine; she was sleeping.”
Before the war, the Lifschitzes worked as peace activists, transporting sick Gazans to Israeli hospitals for treatment. Oded remains a hostage.

Last week, in this column, I argued, “What happens in Israel will not stay in Israel.” I went on to warn that “the next shoe to drop may be in Galveston rather than Gaza.”
Is this warning a bit over the top, or is there a reason to take it seriously?
Well, if Solomon was right when he said, “As a man thinketh, so he is,” let’s consider what the people who fancy themselves the moral conscience of America and the West actually think and say. Here’s a short summary.
“White people are a genetic defect of blackness. Whiteness is not humanness. In fact, white skin is sub-human.

Late Friday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear Missouri v. Biden, a case that may end the Biden administration’s circumvention of the First Amendment by outsourcing censorship to Big Tech. The case was initially filed by the states of Missouri and Louisiana, along with various private plaintiffs who allege that social media platforms censored them at the behest of federal agencies. U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty ruled for the plaintiffs on July 4, enjoining the agencies from communicating with platforms about “content moderation.” The Biden administration sought relief from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and lost again, making a Supreme Court clash inevitable.

Who needs a ground invasion? Last weekend, the Israelis gave Gazans 24 hours to evacuate the northern end of Gaza, signaling that infantry and armor would soon roll through Gaza City. Joe Biden then dropped in for a visit, which some thought could have accounted for the delay in ground operations.Biden has come and gone, though, but the Israeli ground invasion has yet to launch. Meanwhile, the IDF keeps finding success in their current posture. Just ask the Palestinians:
The Commander of the Hamas-led National Security Forces in Gaza Jehad Mheisen was killed by an Israeli airstrike, according to Palestinian reports on Thursday.

A transgender associate professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago posted on social media that Israelis are “pigs” and “savages,” prompting alarm and anger from observers.
On Instagram, Professor Mika Tosca wrote: “Israelis are pigs. Savages. Very very bad people. Irredeemable excrement. … May they all rot in hell.”
Tosca’s post also argued Israel is engaging in “propaganda” and is responsible for “crimes against humanity” recently and in decades past. The post was made in the wake of deadly terrorist attacks against Israel by Hamas that killed more than 1,100 civilians, including women and children.

One of the weapons House Democrats have been trotting out of their arsenal to use against GOP House Speaker nominee Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) during the contentious debate surrounding his candidacy is that he's an alleged election denier because he objected to the certification of the 2020 presidential election.During a recent press conference held in front of the Capitol, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) was one of a number of Democrats to accuse Jordan of engaging in "peddling lies and conspiracy theories" to the American people regarding the 2020 election and other issues:
“House Republicans have selected as their nominee to be the speaker of the people’s
