WASHINGTON – Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg slammed former President Donald Trump’s attack on the retiring chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staffs, Army Gen. Mark Milley, calling his comment “outrageous.” Trump last week accused Milley of “dealing with China to give them a heads up on the thinking of the President of the United States,” on his social media platform, Truth Social. The allegation was a reference to calls Milley made to his Chinese counterpart assuring him the U.S. had no intentions of launching an attack in 2021. Milley has defended those calls, saying he was fulfilling the duties of his office. Trump continued: “This is an act so egregious that,

A disgusting pervert in a position of political power is outrageous. Medals Milley is a disgusting traitor who put China ahead of his sworn duties, and who should have already been court martialed and put in prison for treason.

Buttigieg is mistaken, as it has been Milley who has been making “outrageous” statements about President Trump all along that if military laws were being effectively enforced would have landed Milley before a General Court Martial. See Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. There are pictures in the UK Daily Mail that show President Trump warmly greeting and speaking with Captain Avila during that appearance with Milley. The appearance set up by Milley became a fiasco when Captain Avila’s wheelchair became stuck in the muddy ground where the ceremony took place. No doubt Trump was not happy about that and told Milley of his concerns.

You have to consider that Miley’s comments to China, tho well intentioned, we’re outside his wheelhouse, and Miley has scores to settle with DJT, and the comment is unverified. You also have to consider that Buttigieg is way out of his league, and his comments do not serve this nation well.

Bruce Thornton and others have usefully dubbed it “scientism”: “Dressing up ideological beliefs or even fads in the quantitative data and forbidding jargon of real sciences like physics or engineering.” It allows progressives who actually know and care nothing about science to boast that they “believe in science” or “follow the science” whereas their reactionary opponents, presumably, do not. For some years now, the premier prophet of scientism in America has been Neil DeGrasse Tyson, who since 1996 has been the director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York, and who, like his fellow astrophysicist Carl Sagan before him, has won fame as a promoter and popularizer of science.

The Biden defense has been that whatever Hunter Biden was doing doesn’t involve his father. Sure, Hunter might have traded on his father’s name, his father might have phoned in and stopped by events with his clients and his son might have even sent demands for money to China in his name, but it has nothing to do with Joe. And it still doesn’t. Not even when the money is going to Joe Biden’s address. Did former President Donald Trump ask then-Assistant Attorney General Jeff Clark’s legal opinion concerning Department of Justice options for addressing voting irregularities in Georgia, or did Clark volunteer his legal analysis on the question without the president’s prompting? The federal judge presiding over Clark’s removal case, who will decide whether Clark must defend himself in the Democrat stronghold of Fulton County or in a Georgia federal court, focused on that question during last week’s hearing. In doing so, the judge revealed just how crazy—and dangerous—this political prosecution is to the future of our constitutional republic.

Early this month, after more than 10 years of operation, New York’s Citi Bike bicycle-share program marked a grim milestone: the first-ever death of a pedestrian hit by a Citi Bike rider. The cyclist wasn’t riding one of the traditional blue-pedal bikes when he allegedly hit and killed 69-year-old Priscilla Loke, but rather an electric Citi Bike. Loke’s death is yet another reminder that battery-powered electric bikes — and their new cousins, gas-powered mopeds — are not bicycles but fast-moving motorized vehicles. Those vehicles’ proliferation on New York’s dense streets, encouraged by supposed safe-streets advocates and city government, is reversing more than a decade’s progress in making New York’s streets more hospitable to

On Wednesday, Old Joe Biden finally invited Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House, after refusing to do so for nearly nine months while his regime did everything it could to undermine the Israeli prime minister. The invitation came as Netanyahu met with the alleged president at the UN, and the two sat down for their first chat of Biden’s alleged presidency. Any meeting with Biden these days, however, will have its bizarre and inexplicable elements, and this one was no different. As the leader of the world’s lone Jewish state began speaking, Old Joe bizarrely took the opportunity to make the sign of the cross. Calculated disrespect? Galloping dementia?

A Manhattan judge on Tuesday found Donald Trump committed fraud for years by exaggerating the value of his wealth – clearing the way for a civil trial where the former president could be ordered to pay $250 million and banned from doing business in the Empire State. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron found Trump, 77, his family and his business, the Trump Organization, liable for fraud – the key claim in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ sprawling lawsuit against the defendants. In a 35-page ruling, Engoron sided with James, who argued that Trump made several indisputably false statements in business documents to secure favorable terms
