The media have a narrative, and they’re going to stick with it. They segued smoothly from the “Russia collusion” narrative, to the “Hunter Biden’s laptop is Russian disinformation” narrative, to the “honest election” narrative, and from there to the “January 6 insurrection” narrative. Every video or (digital) print piece that touched upon these topics made sure to imprint the Democrat view onto the audience. The latest narrative is that, with Republicans gearing up to impeach Biden, there’s “no evidence” Biden did anything wrong. To his credit, McCarthy called out an AP “reporter” who made this claim.

Steven Law, the head of the Senate Leadership Fund super PAC and former aide to Mitch McConnell, recently presented poll results that suggested voters are reacting differently to the terms “pro-life” and “pro-choice” in the wake of last year’s Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. Via an NBC News report on the story, in a September 7 interview Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) stated:

It has been revealed that out of the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have taken over New York City within the past 18 months, less than two percent have applied for work visas. Democrats at every level of government continue to say that getting more work visas will solve the illegal immigration problem in New York.
AOC and other Democrats staged a press conference outside midtown Manhattan's Roosevelt Hotel on Friday to speak about work authorizations, more federal funding, and the American dream, but they were shouted down by constituents who very clearly want the border closed.

The country's southern province of al-Suwayda', whose population primarily comes from the Druze minority, is currently witnessing protests on an unprecedented scale.
There has also been a definite paradigm shift in these protests: ... Calls for the government to resign, for the departure of President Bashar al-Assad and a political transition are now stronger and more prevalent.
However much one might sympathise with the protests, they are probably unlikely to shift the situation in a significant way. The protestors, although immensely courageous, are too few, and have little leverage.

During an interview with Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) on Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” host Jake Tapper noted that President Joe Biden’s “brothers and his son have been making millions of dollars, profiting off their relationship to him” and “he’s been letting them do it.”
Moskowitz said, “We know that he was on the phone one time or he had dinner one time and what Republicans have done is say, see, there’s the evidence, he was in the room, he was at dinner, he was on the phone, he spoke to his son. But there has been no evidence at all, zero.”

Wednesday's Cabinet meeting was most interesting. After a minute of introduction, President Biden turned the meeting over to his wife Jill, who continued to run it. This allows us a glimpse into the Democrat presidential strategy for 2024: run Jill Biden.
In order for Jill to win the Democrat nomination for president, she needs to do several important things:
1. Box out Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama, and Gavin Newsom.
2. Maintain DNC support for Joe.
3. Keep Democrat contributors in line.
4. Do more and more of the president's job now.

Europe is in "complete denial" as China proceeds to spread its influence on the continent. At least that is the urgent, unequivocal view of Ivana Karásková, a Czech foreign influence specialist and a special adviser to European Commission Vice President Věra Jourová.
"Asked what parts of the Continent were most in the dark about Chinese influence, she added: 'The whole of Western Europe is not looking. And yet there are cases that are so blatant.'"
In July 2023, the UK's Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament released a comprehensive report on China's threat to the country, and how the Communist power seeks both political and economic influence.

Palestinian officials... have assured the US that they will not oppose Saudi-Israeli efforts at normalization, in the hope of receiving security, financial and political incentives from the Biden administration.
The Palestinian list of demands for not opposing a Saudi-Israeli deal includes, among other things: Resuming Saudi financial support to the Palestinian Authority, which slowed from 2016 and stopped completely three years ago, to the tune of around $200 million per year, and transferring parts of the West Bank currently under full Israeli control to the governance of the Palestinian Authority. The talk is about land in the West Bank's Area C,

The California legislature passed a bill Friday that would threaten parents with losing custody of their children if they question their child’s supposed desire to undergo disfiguring hormone regimens or surgeries to appear more like the opposite sex.
Assembly Bill 957 was initially proposed to require courts to consider whether parents were “affirming” a child’s identification as transgender in custody cases. The legislation was later amended in June to declare parents who aren’t deemed sufficiently “affirming” liable for child abuse.

Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton is demanding answers from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on why the Pentagon is reportedly incorporating so-called “gender-neutral language” into military “decoration and award citations.”
In a letter sent to Austin on Friday, Cotton pressed the defense secretary on why the Pentagon is seeking to abandon the use of “himself” and “herself” in its Manual of Military Decorations and Awards to “describe heroic or distinguished actions” by military personnel. Rather than use grammatically accurate language to refer to the awarded individual, the manual will now allegedly employ the invented term “themself.”

With just three days until their current contract expires, nearly a hundred and fifty thousand members of the United Auto Workers (U.A.W.) union are preparing to walk out from their jobs at the Big Three automakers: Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis (the parent company of Chrysler). Negotiations are ongoing, but in recent days Shawn Fain, the U.A.W. president, dismissed the companies’ initial contract offers as grossly inadequate. “If we don’t get our justice, I can guarantee you one thing—come this Thursday at midnight, there will be action,” Fain said.

WASHINGTON (AP) — During her husband’s 1992 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton observed that “our lives are a mixture of different roles” and said most people are trying to find the right balance.
“For me, that balance is family, work and service,” she said.
Clinton juggled those roles — and more — during eight years as first lady in the White House. She’s returning Tuesday for her first public appearance in the building since the Obama years to indulge her love for the arts.
