Biden Speech Showcases President Forgetting

President Joe Biden delivered a gaffe-filled speech during a Labor Day appearance in Philadelphia — where, in addition to giving the wrong date for his own inauguration, he appeared to forget which state initially elected him to serve in the U.S. Senate. “I wouldn’t have been elected to the United States Senate in the first place were it not for Philadelphia,” Biden claimed, adding, “That’s not a joke.” The only problem with Biden’s claim is the fact that, despite claiming Scranton as his hometown, he never represented the state of Pennsylvania. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in neighboring Delaware when he was 29,

They provided the money, the "Machine", and the Media Market. Biden has had ZERO competition for his Delaware seat since they day they "Gave" it to him. IF he had originally run and somehow got elected in PA? He would have long ago been voted out, likely in primaries. Still...MOST of his appreances, campaign and otherwise, most of his Rallies are in Penna, seldom if ever in Delaware, or anywhere else. Even in most of his speeches he touts his PA roots, seldom mentions Delaware, the place where he is always re-elected, But his "Home"? That has been DC since the age of 29. He does no "Work" in Delaware, has no meetings, even when out of office, his "Private" offices were in PA, and DC.

I am rereading the Vince Flynn (RIP) books. In the current one, the president tells his advisors that he will not seek re-election due to a diagnosis of Parkinson. He simply states that he respects the office too much to do otherwise. Reminds me not of all of Biden, who worships money and power.

When Joe-Joe was first elected he scolded his opponent for being too old - then in his 60s. By Old Joe's own yardstick he should have quit more than a decade ago.

The father of a girl who was sexually assaulted in the bathroom of her Virginia school by a boy in a skirt has told of his relief at being pardoned by the governor for disorderly conduct - and told of his anger at being charged in the first place. Scott Smith went viral in June 2021 when he was wrestled to the floor by police and dragged out of a school board meeting over transgender issues. His daughter had been attacked in the girls' bathroom, and when he raised the issue, chaos ensued. He was subsequently given a 10-day suspended sentence for disorderly conduct.

Over many of the intervening years I watched the United States, as exemplified by the August 1963 march, make great strides in living up to the lofty goals set forth in its Declaration of Independence. However, in recent years I have ruefully observed this nation, as exemplified by the January 6, 2021 march, inexplicably choose to set itself on the same road of inevitable self-destruction that so many failed societies have traveled. It was an overcast, albeit mild August day

In a tweet sent out over the weekend, Rob “Meathead” Reiner declared that “For our Democracy to survive, two things have to happen. Donald Trump needs to be Convicted for Jan. 6th and there can be no Third Party Candidate.” Reiner’s comment was so blatantly anti-democratic that it elicited an avalanche of criticism, some of it from leftists who didn’t particularly like the idea of barring third-party candidates. As one person on X (formerly known as Twitter) responded: “Better make sure there’s no second party candidate either, just to be safe. Stephen King just published his most recent horror novel, Holly. Disappointing does not begin to describe it. Do not purchase Stephen King’s Holly if your goal is to be entertained. This book is a poisonous political diatribe from beginning to end. King, America’s premier storyteller of the past 50 years, has never hidden his left-wing political bias. But before the mess that is Holly, King kept himself in check, never making politics central to his story nor demonizing those who do not share his ideology by using fact patterns unmoored from any sort of reality. With Holly, King has jumped the shark.

The Democratic mayor of a small Massachusetts city is urging state lawmakers to reform a 40-year-old “right-to-shelter” law that is putting immense strain on the area as thousands of migrant families arrive. Woburn mayor Scott Galvin said by Friday there were about 150 families living in the city’s hotels, an arrangement he called unsustainable for his 40,000 constituents. Under the 1983 right-to-shelter law, Massachusetts officials are legally required to offer housing to any homeless families seeking shelter in the state. The law now covers a rising influx of migrant families, although individuals are not covered under its provisions.

What a great question going into the 2024 presidential election! It was asked over 40 years ago and led to one of the biggest landslide elections in U.S. history. As the Harvard Kennedy School summarized: In the final week of the 1980 presidential campaign between Democratic President Jimmy Carter and Republican nominee Ronald Reagan, the two candidates held their only debate. Going into the Oct. 28 event, Carter had managed to turn a dismal summer into a close race for a second term. And then, during the debate, Reagan posed what has become one of the most important campaign questions of all time:

In one of the biggest stories of 2021 and one that likely helped sweep Republicans into power in Virginia, Smith's daughter was raped in the girl's bathroom by a boy wearing a skirt. The Loudoun County school board, which had been pushing a then-new rule allowing "transgender" students to use the bathroom of their choice, sought to cover up the rape at multiple levels. Those motivations were confirmed by a grand jury report which revealed officials ignored multiple warning signs
