When former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants in the Georgia election case turn themselves in, they will be booked at the notorious Fulton County Jail, a consistently overcrowded, bedbug- and fire ant-ridden detention center that is being investigated by the Justice Department over alleged civil rights violations. Trump and several of his allies, including former chief of staff Mark Meadows, lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and former Georgia Republican Party Chairman David Shafer, were indicted late Monday and charged with multiple crimes related to their alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. Trump has denied all wrongdoing.

Along with dreams of smearing/jailing/intimidating Donald Trump, Democrats working at multiple levels of government are lining up lawyers for the same abusive treatment. What that tells me is that Dems REALLY do not want American citizens choosing their own leaders. Democrats created the Russia Hoax. Why wouldn’t Americans mistrust the party behind the hoax? The hoax was a lie and Dems inside and outside government knew it and paid for it. Right before our eyes this week, government approved lawyers with taxpayer funded budgets are building high profile careers and name recognition for themselves and the Dem party. They are making accusations that give them a forum to further Democrat political interests, while forcing private attorneys to spend their own money to defend themselves. That seems like the kind of arrangement that deserves careful inspection, because such disparate power could easily be abused. We have reached a point where folks do not trust their government, partly because it has become noticeably more aggressive in attempting to prevent citizen Donald Trump from running for president. That is not their call, and they need a reminder that those decisions belong to us. Note the treatment of doctors and lawyers who dare challenge bureaucratic edicts. Disrespect for law abiding citizens should not be helpful in building a government or political career, but look at where we are.

And I’m sure those awful people are snickering into their elbows because they know President Trump is a germophobe. I just thought my disgust-o-meter was pegged out. These corrupt and spiteful indictments have the bearings burning out in it. I’m worried sick and don’t know what to do, reckonings are fast approaching and I don’t see a safe haven anywhere.

Don't be surprised if one (Trump) or more of those charged have to cool their heels in a jail cell while the paperwork is completed in slow motion.

What's a political prosecution without a little humilation and torture on the side? Every left-wing dictator knows this, and so does the far-left political prosecution team in Fulton County, Georgia, where yes, they plan to shove President Trump and his 18 co-defendants into a bona fide human rights-violating dump of a prison. According to the Washington Examiner: When former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants in the Georgia election case turn themselves in, they will be booked at the notorious Fulton County Jail, a consistently overcrowded, bedbug- and fire ant-ridden detention center

Maui disaster response

In Maui, a disaster of epic proportions is unfolding, one week after wildfires razed its historic city of Lahaina. It's not just that there was little warning and a chaotic evacuation. Now it's the body count -- 99 people are confirmed dead now, and some 1,000 remain missing. If they're dead, and Lahaina has only 12,000 people, the math isn't pretty -- ten percent of the population may be dead, which has a whiff of Ukraine. The cadaver dogs, with rarified training to detect bodies incinerated to ash in flames, are far too few for a mass casualty event like this, so they still have 75%

Hawaii had the world's fanciest natural disaster warning system on the planet. It also had an ongoing firebug problem, and recent academic study warning that the place was very vulnerable to fire catastrophes. Somehow, none of that figured in the government's fire plan. The firebug is still out there. The conditions created for big fires, such as the proliferation of non-native grasses, remain on Maui. And the fancy emergency warning system somehow didn't work. Never mind any of that: Its governor says the problem is global warming.

A sudden, unexpected, and devastating fire has destroyed the lovely little heritage town of Lahaina on Maui, which for Hawaii, was also a vibrant tourist destination. Thirty-six people at last count were killed and given that this is early in the catastrophe and communications about evacuations were down early, it may rise. The town and all its historic artifacts, its Front Street promenade, named one of the "top ten greatest streets" by the American Planning Association, are gone. Lahaina's giant banyan tree, planted in 1873, and the largest in the U.S., is subject to on-again, off-again reports about whether it survived the inferno. We still don't know.

Joe Biden is a miserable failure as president across the board, but few examples are quite as vivid as his failure in Latin America where he is doing literally nothing as the place goes to hell in a handbasket. The neglect is so bad even Democrats are embarrassed. According to Politico: Biden’s diplomatic team has spent most of his first term trying to rebuild alliances in Europe and Asia stressed by former President Donald Trump’s brash nationalism. They have only recently started to turn their attention to Latin America, but lawmakers and corporate officials alike say those efforts are scant — and their patience is starting to wear thin.

Once upon a time, New York City's top urban planning strongman, Robert Moses, built highways and bridges across and into New York City, aiming to stop traffic congestion. And more of them. And more. Moses is why New York City has the Triborough Bridge, the Brooklyn-Battery Link, Interstate 278, the Cross Bronx Expressway, and many other passageways. He built them all, and then he built some more. And as every journalism student, having read Robert Caro's The Power Broker, would know, Moses was astonished. Instead of less traffic coming into Manhattan from the outer boroughs and beyond -- there was more. Manhattan became more traffic-congested than ever as a result,

Some eighty-one percent of Democrat voters are perfectly happy to keep supporting Joe Biden for reelection to the presidency. But there's one subcategory among them that is scaring the heck out of Democrat pollsters: Black men, whose support for the old dotard has cratered. Biden is down by thirty points among this normally loyal political group. A very significant number just don't want to vote for him. According to the Daily Caller, citing a Washington Post report: Black voters are significantly less enthused about a Biden reelection campaign than they were in 2020, with only 55% saying they’re likely to support him in 2024, according to an early May AP/NORC poll.

President Trump has had a lot of ups and downs in his real estate career, which means his relations with banks and credit can be pretty dicey. The matter was made worse for him in the wake of the January 6 protests, where wokester banks outright cut him off. His Trump Organization financial operation however did find a bank that would loan to his organization, a relatively small bank in San Diego called Axos Bank. and that set the Washington Post scrambling to look for some seedy Biden-style corruption. They found nothing. They must have spent some time on this, however, because they ran a story, and had to satisfy themselves with innuendo

Arguments were made to reduce the cost of the surgery in its Journal of Ethics issue in June titled Patient-Centered Transgender Surgical Care. But the AMA has been criticized for floating the idea and has been accused of holding an 'activist position'. It argued that trans women's inability to bear children may cause them to experience 'psychological dissonance' which undermines their health and well-being.

Wherever we drive nowadays, we see electric vehicles (EVs) amid the normal internal combustion cars and hybrids. (Snip) The modern Left has a dream – that soon, very soon, every vehicle in the world will be electric, running on a heavy, cobalt-laden, lithium battery that needs to be charged up somewhere with electricity derived from an out-of-sight coal plant. The EV’s current average, we are told, is eight hours to a “full charge,” whatever that means. It might be a couple hundred miles, maybe less, maybe more. Some chargers charge faster, some vehicles take longer. We rarely see the EVs charging up while we fill our normal cars

During the inferno that devastated part of the island of Maui, wiping entire towns off the map and possibly killing more than a thousand people (once a full assessment can be made), people on Maui begged state officials to allow West Maui stream water to be diverted to fill up reservoirs for firefighting. That request went to M. Kaleo Manuel, Deputy Director of Hawaii's Commission on Water Resource Management, and he delayed approval of that water for five hours - five hours in which the once-contained fire exploded. By the time the approval was received, workers were unable to reach the siphon release so that the water could be diverted.

Ford only keeps production going because its gas-powered divisions make enough profits to keep this operation going. The car company is losing billions on its push into electric vehicles. Yet, the greenies and environmentally conscious remain gung-ho about these cars even though you must burn fossil fuels to charge them. Energy fairies do not dwell in the charging stations, folks. Once the death toll is finally tallied and the extent of the damages is assessed, there will be investigations into the Maui wildfires. At least, there should be, due to the revelations that the bureaucrats tasked with managing disasters were absolute garbage at their jobs. The island suffered massive brushfires that killed at least 100 people last week. Over 1,000 people are still missing, and whole communities have been destroyed. The damage currently stands at $6 billion, but that’s subject to change, making this one of the deadliest wildfires in over a century.
