I Had to Watch ‘White Teachers Are a

I’m a white writing professor, and apparently, that’s a problem. That was the unmistakable message sent to me at Pennsylvania State University—and that’s why I’m suing the school. In November 2020, nearly half a year after George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis, I was subjected to a video titled “White Teachers Are a Problem” for a monthly professional development meeting for writing faculty. The video’s featured speaker, Asao Inoue, is a self-described practitioner of anti-racism. Not an obscure one, either: About a year prior, Inoue gave the Chair’s Address at a prestigious writing studies research conference and declared, “White people can perpetuate white supremacy by being present.Your body perpetuates racism.”

Comments:

Good -- the more lawsuits against this kind of thing the better.

Huge numbers of blacks living in a state of perpetual racial fury, hate of white people controlling their every thought, every action. I doubt that the most virulent white racist of the last century was so vicious. This is not acceptable behavior in a public space, ever.

Mr, De Piero, I hope your lawsuit against Penn is successful, to the tune of 100 million dollars! The ONLY thing the Left understands is money & power, and depriving Penn of 100M would surely send a LOUD message. So many parallels between you and the Gibson family in their suit against Oberlin: you're white, you're being unfairly targeted because of your race, and Penn, like Oberlin, is doubling down on its evil. Good luck sir, I hope to be reading about your success in the coming weeks/months. PAUPERIZE THEM!

I wish this teacher luck - he is going to need it - especially if the jurors are inner city citizens. I somewhat get the pent-up Black anger. And I absolutely understand White America's blindness to the sins of our forefathers. But murdering your neighbors and robbing your local stores is a rather short-sighted way to take what you think you are owed. Reparations may sound good to Dem politician race-baiters and those 'house slaves' who elect them. But taking any significant amount of money out of the pockets of those whose only guilt is being born white and whose ancestors had nothing to do with America's historic racism won't fly. Our Supreme Court just ruled that reverse racism is illegal and I am certain that the Court will soon rule that ALL set-asides and form of favoring Blacks will also be forbidden. Right now we are watching the melt-down in France with having allowed in huge numbers of Islamic immigrants yet without ever having required cultural assimilation. Our education system has done the same to America itself with failing to teach our Black citizens American values, history, and even our English language. Frankly, I am pessimistic of any political solution. Only Jesus is able to save us.

FTA: " . . . nearly half a year after George Floyd’s murder." George Floyd was not murdered. He was a no-good bum - - a career criminal - - who died from massive overdoses of narcotic drugs. No mob-rule, kangaroo court can change that. President Trump should pardon Officer Chauvin - - give him a medal for his courageous service - - and arrange for massive reparations for him.

The bizarre thing about black anti-white racists is that they claim that it proves you are a white racist if you deny you are a racist. That nutty idea is as racist as it comes, but it's not surprising given the lack of logic coming from the "anti-racists".

Imagine the uproar from all quarters if black faculty were subjected to a video titled. "Black Teachers Are a Problem." This is the fruit of 45 years of race-based hires. The beneficiaries are using institutional power to act out their own grievances. I hope Mr. De Piero wins a big payday and takes a position in a more free-thinking state.

#7, capitalizing “black”, why? I noticed that you didn’t capitalize “white”, and properly so. Since whites outnumber blacks by 5 to 1, perhaps white should be all-caps (WHITE) to denote the proportion. No, that would be insidious, like capitalizing “black”.

#16—UPenn is the University of Pennsylvania, founded by Ben Franklin. This teacher was at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) a very different school. UPenn has its own problems, such as appointing Biden as a professor and paying him handsomely, apparently in exchange for appointing UPenn's ex-president to an ambassadorship and favors to board members. However, it should not be blamed for this case.

As long as the government can take taxpayer money, the government will use that money to destroy the lives of the taxpayers. A dead whale weighing an estimated twenty tons was spotted offshore, soon moved by tide and waves to the shoreline where beachgoers took photos and videos. A conservative comedian of my acquaintance remarked to me recently, “I see New York Times editorial writer Ted Kaczynski has passed away.” This is a callback to one of the earliest reactions to the Unabomber’s famous manifesto, “Industrial Society and Its Future,” that led to his capture in 1996. The late Tony Snow of Fox News was the first to notice a number of striking—and embarrassing—similarities between the language of Kaczynski’s manifesto and Al Gore’s pretentious and cliché-ridden Earth in the Balance. In other words, many arguments of the manifesto were entirely familiar and even conventional, which is why he could easily be confused for the rote-cliché writers

Smoke from forest fires arriving from Canada this summer is choking residents of the United States and millions more Canadians in the prairie and eastern provinces. Thick, roiling smoke may pose health hazards to the aged and infirm in both countries. The origin of the fires traces back to late winter and spring. An abnormally dry winter left Canada’s boreal forests in conditions ripe for fire outbreaks from various causes, including ignition from lightning strikes in tinder-dry material. Forested portions of Alberta and British Columbia have been the sites of pine bark beetle infestations that have left millions of acres of dead trees and combustible residue on the ground.
