I don’t know the details of this incident, but it appears a lot of this country’s infrastructure is decaying. And the poofter DOT Secretary is prancing about, more focused on racist roads and the oh-so-strong commitment to DEI at the DOT. Nero has nothing on this guy and he could at least play the fiddle.

When I look around where i live and see them paving the old bed of the railroad tracks so they can make Bike paths it is no surprise to me that railroads are dying and the Transportation Agency is allowing it.

I believe it’s very evident that we have a government that’s no longer by the people and for the people! The rot and corruption in Washington DC is such that it no longer cares about the welfare and benefits of this nation. We, the people can no longer afford to allow, elected, and non-elected ruling elites run this country into the ground! It is time to organize, contribute a few dollars, and take back the country we love before it’s too late!

Not an accident. The sooner the public realizes that the US government has declared war on its citizens the better chance we have of stopping it. Until then, these incidents will continue.

I don't believe for a minute that these derailments are all an accident. Too many happening for that to be true!

Nailed it, #1! And, I'm thinking Mrs. McConnell probably wasn't much more effective, either! We really need a mover and a shaker in that position. Even if 'anyone but Trump' is the Republican victor in 2024, I'm thinking the Donald could be a prime candidate for the position....he might even be enticed by the opportunity!!

Hmmm. "Derails"???? No, not really.
The freaking bridge collapsed. I think the headline is intentionally written to hype the whole "derail" fear thing.

Looking at a couple of photos, it appears that one of the support piers for the bridge is not standing.
I wonder... did the steel girder bridge fail, or did the support pier fail?
If it was the supporting pier, was it undermined by the water 'scouring out' around the foundation of the pier? The water looks pretty high in the news photo, compared to the image of the bridge in Google Maps or Bing Maps, taken from the highway bridge -Twin Bridges Road- that is next to the railroad bridge.
Years ago I built some equipment for hydrologists studying river 'scour' of highway bridge piers.
