Twenty Republicans Save Adam Schiff from Censure

Original Article

Posted By: DW626, 6/16/2023 9:04:04 AM

Fox News reports that twenty Republicans in the House of Representatives sided with most Democrats in voting against a resolution that would have censured Rep. Adam Schiff, (D-Calif.), for repeatedly peddling the hoax that former President Donald Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. The reprehensible Schiff was one of the foremost proponents of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax. He repeated the falsehood in every forum possible. With every appearance, the lies became more ridiculous. He even claimed that Trump was an asset to the Kremlin. This wasn't a mistake on Schiff's part. Schiff knew these were fabrications but he said it anyway.

Comments:

Simply unbelievable that all democrats never have any negative consequences to any and all of their criminal and immoral behavior…ever.

The censure motion included a bill for $16 million. The cost of Schiff's lies were way in excess of that but the censure motion might well have passed without that penalty. A bridge too far.

While it is impossible to know whether the censure measure failed because it included the possibility of a fine, adding that to what should have been a simple vote on the despicable Schiff shows yet again that Republicans do not know how to fight. Democrats would never have made such a blunder. Not long ago the House censured Rep. Gosar (R-Az) for insulting Sandy Cortez. That censure did not include irrelevancies such as fines. Republicans! Learn from the Democrats.

No doubt they are RINOS who were scared to death of the $16 million clause, knowing that as soon as the Leftist Democrats again control the House of Representatives that they would use that $16 million clause against them and the other wimpy Republicans many times over. What the wimpy Republicans should do is drop the $16 million clause, and then run their resolution through again. Then we will see if the RINOS vote for the Democrats again, along with what bogus excuse they use.

We have seen for some time how off-the-rails the FBI has become, a danger to a free society. More and more evidence now shows it’s not just the FBI. Every federal employee with a badge and gun seems to think he’s a law unto himself. This week the spotlight is on the IRS, and the Congress has to step up and rein the agency in. While Matt Taibbi was testifying before Congress on the administration’s extensive censoring of social media content, the IRS appeared at his door, ostensibly to question him about his taxes, but obviously to intimidate him for showing up government censorship.

Failed Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton cackled at the fact that she got away with her classified documents scandal while former President Trump faces damning prosecution by her party. When asked about the difference between her scandal and Trump's, Clinton didn't deny the special treatment she received, seemingly amused that she could be compared to the 45th president. "That's a really good question; I can't figure that one out," the Democrat joked.

One of the chief characteristics of the stereotypical "banana republic" is that, whether or not it has bananas, it is not a republic, but rather a military dictatorship. "El presidente" may speak Spanish, Russian, or Korean. Soon, another language may be added: American English. One of the core values that has kept us a republic (if we can keep it) is that of civilian control of the military armed forces. Generals and admirals take orders from the commander-in-chief, who is the president of the United States, just as surely as "buck privates" obey orders from the general. It is shocking to witness the decline of that principle in practice.

The right to counsel for defendants is sacred to our democratic republic. Preventing defendants from obtaining counsel clearly adds to the darkness that the Washington Post endlessly tells us is fatal to democracy. A highly organized group of people is attempting to deny Donald Trump the right to legal counsel of his choosing by organizing an campaign of intimidation of lawyers who might be asked to serve his defense in the criminal matter he now faces. Alan Dershowitz, one of the last honest liberals, writes: Former President Donald Trump has now been arraigned and pleaded not guilty. He was represented by two lawyers

Former President Barack Obama is back to throwing criticism towards the Republican Party, recently claiming the GOP has adopted a "big business" attitude.
