Legal Insurrection recently reported that the California Reparations Task Force formally recommended that the state offer payments of up to $1.2 million to every qualifying Black resident.
Apparently, the thought of writing checks that exceed the California budget was more than super-progressive Governor Gavin Newsom could take. He has declined to endorse the reparations panel’s payment plans.
“The Reparations Task Force’s independent findings and recommendations are a milestone in our bipartisan effort to advance justice and promote healing. This has been an important process, and we should continue to work as a nation to reconcile our original sin of slavery and understand how that history has shaped our country,” Newsom said

A number of migrants, traveling to the United States-Mexico border in the hopes of being released into the nation’s interior, profiled by CNN said they are fleeing crime and looking to secure U.S. jobs. Neither is a valid claim for asylum.
As President Joe Biden’s administration ends Title 42, the public health authority that has been used as a border control to remove close to three million illegal aliens from the border since mid-2020, hundreds of thousands of migrants are waiting in Mexico(snip)
Their goal is ultimately to claim asylum and be subsequently released into the U.S. interior, through Biden’s expansive Catch and Release network, while awaiting their immigration hearings

A former Biden administration official who oversaw a federal initiative against alleged disinformation filed a civil lawsuit against Fox News on Wednesday, alleging that the news outlet defamed her and damaged her career.
Nina Jankowicz, former head of the now-disbanded Disinformation Governance Board, alleged in a complaint filed Wednesday that Fox News, via figures like host Laura Ingram and former host Tucker Carlson, waged “a malicious campaign of destruction” against her that allegedly damaged her career and well-being.
“By particular, Fox described Jankowicz as moronic, an embarrassment to her parents and employers, and a ‘self-obsessed social media neophyte,’” r

The message that Republicans in Congress hear most often is: “Stop talking, start fighting.”
Republicans have spent enormous amounts of time, money, and effort debating ideas and policy. Well-reasoned and true ideas are essential to good governance, but they do not ensure policy victory. Winning requires an organized effort to implement the right ideas through the relevant political processes.
This is exactly why I launched a new group of conservative Republicans at the beginning of this Congress. I founded the Anti-Woke Caucus as a forum for common-sense legislators to craft the strategies needed to implement good policy.
How so?
First, via appropriations.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has reinstated a grant that had been terminated by President Donald Trump in April 2020. However, a document first obtained by the House Oversight Committee reveals that the NIH’s conditions for reinstatement have not been met.
The grant, titled “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence,” was originally awarded in 2014 by Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Under the terms of the grant, EcoHealth Alliance, a government-funded nonprofit that purportedly engages in research to prevent pandemics, was awarded $3.8 million over five years to assess the spillover potential of bat viruses

Elon Musk has reportedly hired Linda Yaccarino as the CEO of Twitter. Unfortunately, this decision is the exact opposite of what everyone hoped about Musk’s intentions with the platform.
Ms. Yaccarino is the head of NBCUniversal Advertising and Partnerships [Example Here], and she is the tip of the spear in the creation of DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion) indexing and corporate scoring. You might be familiar with ‘DEI’ as a result of the Bud Light woke advertising campaign to promote beer for transgenders. Well, that’s DEI in action, and Ms. Yaccarino is one of the pioneers in the advertising industry.

Congressman Byron Donalds represents Southwest Florida CD-19; he comes from good stock. After the CNN attack townhall in New Hampshire last night, Donalds appeared on a CNN panel to discuss.
Prior to Donalds joining the panel, the six other panelists were echo-chambering their narrative talking points without rebuttal. Donalds put that nonsense to rest. However, beyond the epic pushback, notice how the panel reacts to having their narrative challenged; this should be very familiar to people.
Notice how when confronted by an opposing viewpoint the panel uses a familiar tactic. Instead of discussing the policy points, the issues at the heart of the policy positions, the panel instead begins to

Liberals sure like dead black men, especially the criminal kind. I am not talking about Ed Buck. You remember him. NPR reported on July 28, 2021, “Democrat Donor Ed Buck Is Convicted In Deaths Of 2 Men He Offered Drugs For Sex.” You cannot judge a party by its psychotic millionaires.
No, this column is about black men killed by non-liberal white people or in the case of George Zimmerman, a Hispanic.
AOC used the death in a subway train of Jordan Neely to create a new saint for the church of black victimhood. A violent man, he went crazy in a subway train last Thursday afternoon. The transit police were unavailable.

The Biden administration has brought back a Trump-era immigration rule the day before Title 42 is scheduled to sunset and encourage a wave of illegal immigration into the U.S.
The rule, finalized and published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, disqualifies migrants from applying for asylum in the U.S. if they neglected to first apply for asylum in other countries they traveled through, such as Mexico. Hundreds of asylum officers were trained in how to enforce the rule on Tuesday ahead of Title 42’s expiration, according to CBS News.
The new rule, a reversal of President Joe Biden’s campaign promises,

A background is really worth considering. For a full year in 2016 CNN attacked candidate Donald Trump relentlessly, calling him every name in the book and comparing him to the rise of Hitler. Trump won. CNN then spent the next four years of the Trump presidency shouting at him, yelling at him, calling him names and decrying him as evil incarnate attempting to destroy him; including the promotion of the totally fraudulent Trump-Russia conspiracy theory, (snip) CNN then spends the next two years hiding every Biden scandal they can cover and defending the Biden team as the nation burns down around them.

Congressman George Santos was indicted on thirteen counts of wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds and lying on financial disclosure forms during his short period in Congress. He was taken into custody Wednesday in New York [DETAILS].
By most accounts and even his own words, Santos is a generally sketchy person, and I doubt there will be too many defenders of his character or the issues at stake. However, all of that said, this Tweet from a staffer in his office is wild:(Tweet) An FBI informant penetrating the congressional office to relay information back to the FBI is quite remarkable. However, it appears we

The Department of Justice coincidentally decided to arrest New York GOP Rep. George Santos on money laundering and other charges on Wednesday at the same time House Republicans held a press conference revealing damaging evidence about the Biden family’s corrupt, foreign business ventures.
On Tuesday, the DOJ filed charges against Santos in the Eastern District of New York. While originally under seal, the 13-count indictment unveiled Wednesday morning shows the DOJ charging Santos with “seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.”
