The Biden administration is proposing new limits on greenhouse gas emissions from coal and gas-fired power plants, its most ambitious effort yet to roll back planet-warming pollution from the nation's second-largest contributor to climate change.
A rule to be unveiled Thursday by the Environmental Protection Agency could force power plants to capture smokestack emissions using a technology that has long been promised but is not in widespread use in the U.S.
If finalized, the proposed regulation would mark the first time the federal government has restricted carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants,

What's going to replace it?
Over the past 10 years more than 100 gigawatts of coal fired generation capacity has been forcibly removed from the grid with no reliable replacement.

This is national suicide by Green decree. It should be the death of the Democrats. We're going to run out of affordable energy because it's the virtuous thing to do. The Chinese are building a new coal-fired power plant every week, and have been doing so for long time. The Chinese tell the Greens what to do, and the Greens do it, being communists at heart.

The goal seems to be to "shut down" the country. You have to ask "Then what?"

FTA: " . . . to roll back planet-warming pollution from the nation's second-largest contributor to climate change."
And where exactly is the scientific proof of "planet-warming pollution" or contributors to "climate change"? Communists - - like the ones at AssPress - - always make pompous assertions - - without ever having to provide any proof. There isn't a SHRED of data anywhere in this world - - nor can there be - - which proves that human activity is inducing catastrophic climate change.
It's so easy to be a commie - - you never have to prove anything.

Sure thing Joe, just as soon as YOU demonstrate a 90% efficiency rate of US Govt, one with zero negative impacts on it's peoples.
This was the Bernie "Green Nude Eel" that Biden SWORE he was not in favor of, had nothing to do with, had NO intentions of allowing, let alone implementing.

My electric bills have doubled in over the past 8 years with most of the increase coming after 2020. This in spite of my keeping the AC at 78, not using the dryer but about half an hour a week and turning off lights when I leave the room.
What else can I do? I don't want to burn up this summer and the price of food is killing me.

Someone should tell Biden, "Cut your incoherent statements by 90% or slit your wrists."
#1 might observe that maintaining capacity is not even one of the goals of the people driving this, let alone one of their priorities. Cutting off America's prosperity at the knees is the whole point.

How will people charge their electric cars if 90% of the power plants are closed down? How will people cook their food with their mandatory electric stoves (once he bans gas stoves) without 90% of the electric power plants. How will people heat their home, light their homes, work from home, and do all of the other things that make life in the US wonderful? Apparently, Joe Biden, the Democrats, and his Green worshiping fanatics want us to go back to the iving standards of the 1800's.

You won't have cars. What little food you are allowed will not need to be heated. Your state-controlled heating will be just enough to keep your pipes from freezing. There will be no TV, and you won't need lighting to read, because you'll be in bed early to rest up for your 12-hour shift at the Soylent Green Factory. So see...plenty of power!

These seemingly crazy proclamations Biden gets up there and reads from the podium warrant our attention. This is how focused and demented his puppet masters are on the destruction of America.
They are serious about cuts in power and everyone needs to plan and prepare for extended times of electricity “shortages.”
