New Yorkers have been on edge in recent years.
And why wouldn’t they be? Crime is soaring, the streets are filthy, and local shop owners are struggling to keep their doors open.
It is apparently the perfect time, in Governor Kathy Hochul’s world, to test-run a plan to completely prohibit the sale of tobacco products in her state, because nothing says “leadership” like inserting yourself in the lives of anxious residents and robbing them of their cigarettes. [Tweet]
According to the New York Post, Hochul’s state Health Department quietly commissioned a new survey to see how the public would react to an all-out ban on tobacco.

She needs to talk to Newsome.
California had made getting certain Mexican foods and pharmacuticals inmpossible in years' past.
So, the Black Market took up the slack!
Bootlegging trucks full of fresh fruits and veggies not fit for sale in CA are common.
"Traditional remedies," some full of lead and/or arsinic can be bought off the streets, too.

Progressive are constantly trying to control peoples lives. Guess she'll have to find something new to tax when NY loses the revenue from tobacco.

If she thinks that the thugs in NYC are violent now, just wait until they’re all going through nicotine withdrawal.

I seem to remember a fat boy who engineered his own death when the NY police tried arresting him for selling smuggled black-market cigarettes. Is there no limit to the stupid ideas from Dem pols?

I've been a heavy smoker for 50 years.... 2 to 3 packs a day. I quit cold turkey last November. Having never been sick or something "serious" in 72 years, I had 2 different breast cancers and lumpectomies on each side. Had several Squamous Cell Skin Cancers on legs and scalp, then the biggie of throat cancer.
I'm so blessed with a great support team, and so far I'm Cancer free. Still follow up exams. but my Oncologist said the throat cancer would be back if I continue to smoke and I just QUIT....
Point being: IT WAS MY DECISION. Not a GOVERNMENT MANDATE. This group in Government looks like they're looking for a fight with most of the country.

I personally would not care if I never smelled the stink of cigarette smoke again but what gives me the right to deny it to somebody who likes it? I hope people fight all things like this and keep their government tied up in knots over little battles to keep them from doing serious damage.

#9. Congratulations on beating the Big C. I quit smoking 40 years ago. Was moving and took a look at the place I was staying. Ashes everywhere and the curtains had turned yellow. So I sat down and had my last smoke. Smoking and alcohol were easy to give up. The hard thing was orange juice. But I refuse to give up coffee. You've got to have something to look forward to when you wake up.

This worked out so well during Prohibition of the 1920's...so let's try it again. Al Capone is just wishing he was still alive.
Hey, is ordering online going to still be available? I see an opening for a revival of "Silk Road" and a resurgence of bitcoins.

The Peoples Republic of New York is active. Banning smokes and in NYC, limiting what you can eat and drink. Whatever you NYers do, don't come down south with your belief systems - you are not welcome.

And who is going to enforce this? NY can't even enforce laws on the books right now as thugs rule everywhere & especially if they are minorities. Anything goes and this witch actually thinks she can enforce a no-smoke mandate while the smell of pot smokers permeates all the air around the druggies laying around in a stupor?
