NY gov quietly test-markets ‘bizarre’

New Yorkers have been on edge in recent years. And why wouldn’t they be? Crime is soaring, the streets are filthy, and local shop owners are struggling to keep their doors open. It is apparently the perfect time, in Governor Kathy Hochul’s world, to test-run a plan to completely prohibit the sale of tobacco products in her state, because nothing says “leadership” like inserting yourself in the lives of anxious residents and robbing them of their cigarettes. [Tweet] According to the New York Post, Hochul’s state Health Department quietly commissioned a new survey to see how the public would react to an all-out ban on tobacco.

She needs to talk to Newsome. California had made getting certain Mexican foods and pharmacuticals inmpossible in years' past. So, the Black Market took up the slack! Bootlegging trucks full of fresh fruits and veggies not fit for sale in CA are common. "Traditional remedies," some full of lead and/or arsinic can be bought off the streets, too.

I've been a heavy smoker for 50 years.... 2 to 3 packs a day. I quit cold turkey last November. Having never been sick or something "serious" in 72 years, I had 2 different breast cancers and lumpectomies on each side. Had several Squamous Cell Skin Cancers on legs and scalp, then the biggie of throat cancer. I'm so blessed with a great support team, and so far I'm Cancer free. Still follow up exams. but my Oncologist said the throat cancer would be back if I continue to smoke and I just QUIT.... Point being: IT WAS MY DECISION. Not a GOVERNMENT MANDATE. This group in Government looks like they're looking for a fight with most of the country.

#9. Congratulations on beating the Big C. I quit smoking 40 years ago. Was moving and took a look at the place I was staying. Ashes everywhere and the curtains had turned yellow. So I sat down and had my last smoke. Smoking and alcohol were easy to give up. The hard thing was orange juice. But I refuse to give up coffee. You've got to have something to look forward to when you wake up.

Democrats constantly talk about how much they want to protect “democracy.” It’s become parodic at this point, with every single thing the left doesn’t like being described as a threat to democratic governance. When you take a step back, though, it becomes obvious who the real threat is. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez illustrated that perfectly in an interview that aired Sunday. While on MSNBC, the New York congresswoman spoke to Jen Psaki, which just rounds out the absurdity of the entire scene. The former press secretary for Joe Biden, one of the biggest political hacks in existence, is now cosplaying as an unbiased journalist, but I digress.

A coroner has determined that a 32-year-old “healthy” British doctor died from a cerebral blood clot caused by a reaction to the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Stephen Wright passed away in January 2021 — just ten days after receiving his first dose of the vaccine. His wife, Charlotte Wright, is trying to get the cause of death changed from “natural causes” on his death certificate. She has also filed a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company and dozens of people. Senior Coroner Andrew Harris explained in a court hearing that Wright’s death was caused by a brainstem infarction, bleed on the brain, and “vaccine-induced thrombosis.”

The Wall Street Journal’s conservative editorial board is out with a scorching column recommending that President Joe Biden not run for reelection in 2024. Their nearly 1000-word column begins with the board pointing to polls showing that most Democrat voters hope the president doesn’t run for reelection. “The public understands what Mr. Biden apparently won’t admit: that electing an octogenarian in obvious decline for another four years could be an historic mistake,” the board writes. The president is currently 80 years old. If he were to win reelection, he’d be 82 by the time his second term were to begin.

This week, Virginia Department of Elections Commissioner Susan Beals, appointed by Youngkin last year, announced that close to 19,000 dead registrants were recently discovered on the state’s voter rolls. The dead registrants were found after officials reviewed death records from the Virginia Department of Health dating back to 1960 that were not previously shared. Subsequently, the dead registrants will be removed and a new set of protocols will be used by Virginia election officials to more quickly remove dead registrants from voter rolls in the future.

The Biden administration is reportedly finalizing a proposal that would force fossil fuel-fired power plants to substantially curb emissions or utilize costly carbon capture technology. The proposal — which will soon be released by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) — is expected to require coal- and natural gas-fired power plants to cut or capture the vast majority of their carbon dioxide emissions by 2040, The New York Times reported on Saturday, citing officials briefed on a draft of the plan. The regulation, if finalized, would represent the first-ever federal action curbing power plant emissions. "EPA cannot comment because the proposals are currently under interagency review,"
