The last few weeks, the world had been writing off the United States as either crazy or irrelevant as it watches America cannibalize itself.
Friends tremble at our sudden decline. Enemies rejoice. Neutrals make the necessary adjustments to join the ascendant non-American side.
The symptoms of our decline abroad appear everywhere. The more Joe Biden brags about the crippling oil sanctions on Russia, friends like India and allies like Japan ignore them. And why not, when Biden has no idea how long the war in Ukraine will last, or how much wherewithal the United States can, should, or will give Kyiv, or how its on-to-Red-Square blank check will finally end?

Biden's crippling oil sanctions are killing America, not Russia. And Biden's crippling financial sanctions are destroying the American dollar, while the Russian Ruble rises.

There is a reason that America is not mentioned during the Tribulation in the book of Revelation.

Just say it VDH. Biden's policies are deliberate. George Soros's son has had how many meetings at the Biden White House? His father has written op feds bragging about his success in funding left wing District Attorneys. Not one ex president has issued a statement about the indictment of Donald Trump. The USA Fascist Party aka the Dem Party is out to destroy this country and all that is was built on.

The "Leader of the Free World" is leading a bunch of nobodies and wanna-be coat holders pretending to be the great defenders of right. Our "foreign policy" is aimless, half-stuck in the 1960 fighting "communism" and Russia rather than facing the real threats. Our domestic policies unhelpful.
Those threats are not only military, but economic. Where is the US program to counter China's Belt and Road? There is none, but if anyone needs troops the US has a regional command to respond. Wars today involve technology theft, economic manipulation, industrial dominance, and investment in infrastructure in developing and third-world nations. And the US doesn't get it...we "need" that 700 ship fleet, multi-million man land force, and all the other trappings of a great power who cannot effectively use those forces when the balloon goes up.
At home we are polarized because we don't think beyond our "tribes". Rather than find common ground, even among like-thinkers, the first demand is orthodoxy to a view, and attack for any other thoughts. It's not just Libs vs Conservatives, Dems vs Republicans, rather it's every man for himself. Many are bullied into quiet, seething nonetheless within their powerlessness to even speak. And, of course, now it's tyt for tat, using the courts with politically useful judges, however one can deploy them.
We have met the enemy, and he is indeed us.

What an encouraging article. NOT. Totally baffling to me that only maga understands this. The rest treat it as a threat. Help me understand.

I was going to quote some of the paragraphs in this piece, but each one is better than the one before. This should be a must read for the week!
Could VDH please become a speech writer for DJT? Pretty please?

VDH was great when he tried to salvage the sadly unsalvagable National Review. The last remaining virtue of that since canceled (by me) publication. Is it still there? Presently, he is even greater.

“Fiddling away”. Doing nothing. Not even wanting to know about serious matters when they can hide out in the unserious. And then go to bed, only to wake and repeat.
So America suffers the sins of omission—squabbling over the nonessential—and commission—losing wars, going broke, ruining its economy, flirting with civil war. We know these are all self-inflicted wounds. But apparently, we believe their remedies are worse than the original maladies. And so we fixate only on the irrelevant that we think we can address while ignoring the existential we know we no longer can solve.
The sins of omission.

Once again, VDH is frustrating for the simple reason we know what the problem is, but the solution is not addressed. It makes me believe there is not one that does not involve a heavy price most of us do not wish to pay. Everyday I watch as the country descends into chaos as the best minds in the country don’t have a solution. We are living a nightmare existence. Are we the living dead and completely unaware of it?
