Why We Need An Independent Global Climate
Temperature Database

Ever since the beginning of the global warming debate, now labeled “climate change,” there has been one immutable yet little-known fact: All of the temperature data stations used to make determinations about the state of Earth’s temperature are controlled by governments. In June 1988, when Dr. James Hansen, then-director of NASA’s Institute for Space Studies in Manhattan, went before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to say that, “global warming has begun,” he was using temperature data collected by governments worldwide from a weather station network that was never intended to detect a “global warming signal.”

As predictable as the sunrise: Government "analysis" is always biased toward political goals. As with Covid, after the fact, government "advice" is always proven wrong.

"Truth is much too complicated to allow anything but approximations." John von Neumann There is a USCRN reporting station near me. It was once isolated but is now within a few yards of a city metal maintenance warehouse which has a paved parking lot and is close to the main entrance of a park The park is popular and crowded on weekends and holidays with standing traffic entering gates. The station does not meet the recording station requirements. Almost all temperature data prior to the 1960s were recorded in the US and Europe with little information from Asia, Africa and the Southern Hemisphere.

Why? The only important temperature is today's in your area, unless you are traveling. Yesterday is over and tomorrow it will change. The Euros can freeze or bake, I don't care.

There is no such thing as an "independent" agency or organization that needs money to exist. Whether government or private, for-profit or non-profit, they are all beholden to someone, whoever that might be. That's true in every endeavor, an extension of the customer always being right. And the politicos know this.

There is a data collection site/tower near me...in a suburban area of large yards, a "Livable Forest", many large parks, a boyscout reservation, ponds, lakes, streams...very little blacktop, even the large parking lots are surrounded by trees, green spaces breaking them up. Yet the collection tower is sited in the center of a bare, mown, cloverleaf, the intersection of two major interstate, 8 lane, highways with constant 24hr semi traffic, it is in fact SO hot there that buzzards congregate to ride the updraft thermals created in that ONE spot. We have had ten record setting cold days for every hot day record broken...yet it is those very few hot days that get all of the attention. In the last ten years snowy owls have begun to appear here, NEVER seen in the area before, in the last five they have become "Common".

Anyone remember the East Anglia emails? Where the researchers were discussing how to hide the decline in temperatures in their research. Not only are the academic researchers data hokey, but most of the governmental data included in this article. I've been following this for decades. When the East Anglia emails came out, a buddy of mine and fellow meteorologist said "Whelp, that ought to take care of the global warming garbage". I told him, "wanna bet"! I knew these rat bastards weren't gonna stop for anything.

We also need a non-political Bureau of Reclamation. Global warming radicals are happy with the 'bath tub ring' of Lake Mead. Democrats point at the ring while shrieking about climate change and the need for socialism. Therefore, we could have 40 days and 40 nights of rain (like Noah and his boatload of animals) and Lake Mead would not be refilled. An empty Lake Mead fits the Democrat communist agenda.

Back in the late 1970's there was a local news story in Philadelphia that an unprecedented increase in mean annual temperature had been occuring for the previous several years. The temperature rise was alarming and several stark and typical 70's era doom and gloom predictions of famine and overpopulation were bandied about. Then very quietly the story was backpedaled. Apparently someone did a very random act of actual journalism and tracked down the actual data. Turns out that the temperature measuring station showing the temperature rise was sited at the end of the runway at Philadelphia International Airport. It had been placed in a vacant field in the late 1940's or early 1950's and never moved. By 1970 the vacnt field was the end of one of the main runways. The station was actually recording the massive increase in Departures from PHL. The station was relocated off the end of the runway and as if by magic the warming temperature trend ceased and returned to the baseline. So many of the weather stations our temperature record are relying on were placed decades ago, and never moved. A lot of what is being observed is urban heat island effects from improperly sited stations. Anthony Watts has a whole page dedicated to exposing the worst of the. Add to that that the actual number of stations has been drastically reduced in recent decades and you get a dataset that is next to useless. Almost all of the temperature data reported now is calculated from a computer algorithm. Uncovered areas are "filled in" using data from stations hundreds of miles distant. Especially those arctic areas where very few actual stations are placed.. One of the most egregious examples is the temperature data for southeast Alaska. There are no actual stations there so the data is calculated using data collected, wait for it......' from temperature gauges located in HAWAII!!

A number of columns and editorials in recent weeks have openly wondered if the notion of a nation ruled by laws — fair laws reasonably interpreted by well-trained, unbiased, disinterested judges — was dying. Sorry, but it might already be dead. The overtly political mugging of Donald Trump by a Soros-backed New York district attorney wielding a risible 34-count felony indictment that could put the ex-president behind bars for more than 100 years is bad enough. But the absurd nature of the accusations make clear the legal charges have nothing to do with the law, and everything to do with Democratic politics. It’s an obvious example of overreach

The latest Social Security annual report, projecting that the Trust Fund will be exhausted in 2033, a year sooner than previously thought, politely explains that the Trustees “reassessed their expectations for the economy in light of recent developments.” What recent developments, you ask? Rising inflation, declining output, weakened GDP forecast, and worsening labor productivity. In other words, this is another bitter fruit from President Joe Biden’s poisoned economic tree. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen responded to the news about Social Security that “the Biden-Harris administration is committed to ensuring the long-term viability of these critical programs

Parents in America, as elsewhere, traditionally have been concerned with one big thing when it comes to their children: That their kids’ lives should be better than the preceding generation’s. And for decades, that optimism was a given. But now, people are not so sure, a new I&I/TIPP Poll suggests. Based on a growing body of evidence, both from the news and from a spate of recent studies and research, America’s parents, grandparents, teachers and others who make up the adult world today share a deep angst over how well their kids will do in the future. To find out how pervasive

Liberals might be scratching their heads over why potential Donald Trump rivals are rushing to denounce his indictment. The reason is simple. Conservative Republicans know that if this assault is allowed to stand, they will be next. The left, as well as the rabble of never-Trump Republicans, like to tell everybody that the unprecedented measures taken against Trump – culminating with this week’s indictment – are justified because he poses a unique threat to our precious democracy. Just to review, we’re talking about measures like Democrats impeaching him twice on the flimsiest of grounds. Like federal law enforcement

America and the rest of the world have suffered under big government’s smothering hand during the three-year COVID “emergency,” which has been used to silence critics and force obedience to nonsensical medical edicts. It’s time to reclaim our ancient liberties and live free again. And here’s a good start: A Republican-led bill to declare an official end to the COVID emergency passed the Senate for a third time Wednesday, this time by a 68-23 majority. While President Joe Biden “strongly” opposes the measure, a White House source told Associated Press, he’ll sign it anyway. Why?

In recent decades, Americans have shown strong support for the idea of free trade, based on the belief that they would benefit as much as or more than our trading partners did. But in recent years, as trade and geopolitical conflict with China grew and economic growth slowed, Americans’ support for free trade has waned, as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. Given recent public debates over trade, the online I&I/TIPP Poll of 1,358 adults, taken from March 1-3, asked Americans three questions about current trade policy proposals. All come from recent proposals made by former President Donald Trump, as he presumably moves to run again for the presidency in 2024.

Way back in the mid-1980s, communist Yugoslavia exported the Yugo, a compact car that sold for around $4,000. It was so poorly made that bumping into a pole at 5 mph could total it. Fast forward to today, and a new class of cars has a similar problem. A minor accident can cause a total loss, even if the car’s been driven only a few miles. The only difference is that these cars aren’t cheap imports from some godforsaken socialist state. These are state-of-art electric vehicles that come with an average sticker price of $55,000. Washington - The Supreme Court on Thursday denied West Virginia's request to let it fully enforce a state law that bans transgender women and girls from participating on public school sports teams consistent with their gender identity. In an unsigned order, the court denied West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey's emergency request to let the state enforce the 2021 law. Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented, saying they would have granted the request. Earlier this year, a lower federal court ordered the state to temporarily stop halt the ban against Becky Pepper-Jackson, a 12-year-old transgender girl who sued the state over the law shortly after its passage.
