The latest Social Security annual report, projecting that the Trust Fund will be exhausted in 2033, a year sooner than previously thought, politely explains that the Trustees “reassessed their expectations for the economy in light of recent developments.” What recent developments, you ask? Rising inflation, declining output, weakened GDP forecast, and worsening labor productivity. In other words, this is another bitter fruit from President Joe Biden’s poisoned economic tree. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen responded to the news about Social Security that “the Biden-Harris administration is committed to ensuring the long-term viability of these critical programs

Stop hemorrhaging our tax dollars to illegal invaders and the Ukraine, for starters. Then put a moratorium on ALL foreign aid for 10 years.

Most businesses have a 'we are hiring' sign in their window. For every opening, there is a person not paying taxes and possibly one that is collelcting disability or some other government program. The Moron and his laughing VP travel the world and hand out billions of dollars like they were M&Ms. Social Security funds come out of the general budget. How could it not be in trouble.

I see Biden’s commitments. Sniffing little girl’s hair, eating ice cream, telling tall tales, spending vast quantities of borrowed cash, extensive time off. Yellen has no more believability of Bhagdad Bob.

Why tax anybody ? You spend trillions more than you earn (if politics actually earns) so why don't you JUST PRINT IT ALL.

Fact is, the Social Security Trust Fund has been pillaged to the point of bankruptcy. Over the years our leaders, the people who are supposed to watch over these funds, have bled it dry. Stolen our hard earned money like Jimmy Hoffa raided the union pension funds. Jimmy Hoffa went to jail but the president and congress are above the law. Get it yet. Pathetic.

Maybe they should stop using the fund to fund their little vote buying gimmicks...if you didn't pay into it, you don't get it...stop the grifters and illegals from grabbing $$ they never put in...makes me sick...I remember when I went to file I passed a guy coming in with a passport in his hand...figure that one out...

Why We Need An Independent Global Climate
Temperature Database

Ever since the beginning of the global warming debate, now labeled “climate change,” there has been one immutable yet little-known fact: All of the temperature data stations used to make determinations about the state of Earth’s temperature are controlled by governments. In June 1988, when Dr. James Hansen, then-director of NASA’s Institute for Space Studies in Manhattan, went before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to say that, “global warming has begun,” he was using temperature data collected by governments worldwide from a weather station network that was never intended to detect a “global warming signal.”

When it comes to all things COVID, it seems as if the worm is turning. The past few weeks have seen the release of a “gold standard” report essentially saying the mask mandates did nothing, a pair of government agencies now say the “lab leak” hypothesis is most likely the correct COVID origin story, the “Twitter Files” are forcing society to look at the reality of government-induced censorship, and the legacy media is actually starting to run stories that maybe – just maybe – the whole lockdown thing may have been a teensy bit misguided.[snip] But the past three years have taught

This Generation Of Kids Won’t Do Better
Than Parents: I&I/TIPP Poll

Parents in America, as elsewhere, traditionally have been concerned with one big thing when it comes to their children: That their kids’ lives should be better than the preceding generation’s. And for decades, that optimism was a given. But now, people are not so sure, a new I&I/TIPP Poll suggests. Based on a growing body of evidence, both from the news and from a spate of recent studies and research, America’s parents, grandparents, teachers and others who make up the adult world today share a deep angst over how well their kids will do in the future. To find out how pervasive

Liberals might be scratching their heads over why potential Donald Trump rivals are rushing to denounce his indictment. The reason is simple. Conservative Republicans know that if this assault is allowed to stand, they will be next. The left, as well as the rabble of never-Trump Republicans, like to tell everybody that the unprecedented measures taken against Trump – culminating with this week’s indictment – are justified because he poses a unique threat to our precious democracy. Just to review, we’re talking about measures like Democrats impeaching him twice on the flimsiest of grounds. Like federal law enforcement

America and the rest of the world have suffered under big government’s smothering hand during the three-year COVID “emergency,” which has been used to silence critics and force obedience to nonsensical medical edicts. It’s time to reclaim our ancient liberties and live free again. And here’s a good start: A Republican-led bill to declare an official end to the COVID emergency passed the Senate for a third time Wednesday, this time by a 68-23 majority. While President Joe Biden “strongly” opposes the measure, a White House source told Associated Press, he’ll sign it anyway. Why?

Every day it gets more difficult to ignore just how odious the political left in this country is. In case we needed a reminder – we didn’t – another instance of the progressives’ deranged minds landed last week: The Biden administration is, in effect, coming after air conditioners. No, it doesn’t appear that the White House is planning to outright ban air conditioning. But a recent round of rule making at the Energy Department will make new window units less efficient at cooling and more expensive to buy, which will create hardships for the millions of poor Americans who use them to

In recent decades, Americans have shown strong support for the idea of free trade, based on the belief that they would benefit as much as or more than our trading partners did. But in recent years, as trade and geopolitical conflict with China grew and economic growth slowed, Americans’ support for free trade has waned, as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. Given recent public debates over trade, the online I&I/TIPP Poll of 1,358 adults, taken from March 1-3, asked Americans three questions about current trade policy proposals. All come from recent proposals made by former President Donald Trump, as he presumably moves to run again for the presidency in 2024.

Way back in the mid-1980s, communist Yugoslavia exported the Yugo, a compact car that sold for around $4,000. It was so poorly made that bumping into a pole at 5 mph could total it. Fast forward to today, and a new class of cars has a similar problem. A minor accident can cause a total loss, even if the car’s been driven only a few miles. The only difference is that these cars aren’t cheap imports from some godforsaken socialist state. These are state-of-art electric vehicles that come with an average sticker price of $55,000. Why are insurance companies totaling low-mileage EVs that have been in a fender bender?

"The U.S. banking system is sound and resilient,” Federal Reserve Board Chairman Jerome Powell said on Wednesday in an effort to calm depositors worried about more bank failures. That was the same day the Fed raised interest rates another quarter point to deal with inflation that has been running at four-decade highs for nearly two years. The two problems, along with so many others that families are confronting right now, have a common cause: President Joe Biden’s disastrous economic policies. While another banking crisis might have been contained – a reassurance we take with a grain of salt – the Biden crisis will continue to metastasize

In recent years, the U.S. has suffered recurring banking crises almost like clockwork. Indeed, about every 10 years or so we seem to go through another financial panic, only to be followed by a spate of bad regulations passed to ensure “it won’t happen again.” But it always does. So how do we end this cycle? U.S. banking disasters plagued the late 20th century and early 21st century. But of course they go back long before even that, to 1907 and 1929, as two examples. More recently, there was the 1980s and ’90s savings and loan crisis, the 1998 collapse of Long-Term Capital Management and global crisis, the 2007 financial crisis

The chief executive of JP Morgan has suggested that governments should seize private land to build wind and solar farms in order to meet net zero targets. Jamie Dimon, the longstanding boss of the Wall Street titan who donates to the Democratic Party, said green energy projects must be fast-tracked as the window for averting the most costly impacts of global climate change is closing. (Snip) “We may even need to evoke eminent domain – we simply are not getting the adequate investments fast enough for grid, solar, wind and pipeline initiatives.”

My introduction to San Francisco came in the late 1970s, when I spent a lot of time there as a young lawyer. For a Midwestern guy, the San Francisco of that era was a revelation: great restaurants, famous hotels on Nob Hill, fog drifting in off the Bay. But today’s San Francisco is, sadly, something else. The San Francisco Chronicle has a long, long article about the city’s demise: “Downtown S.F. on the brink: It’s worse than it looks.” And it looks really bad. The numbers are grim: "Don’t be fooled. The downtown area, the city’s primary economic driver, is teetering on the edge, facing challenges greater than

Now that we’ve seen what District Attorney Alvin Bragg has, the old Peggy Lee song comes to mind. Is that all there is? Yes, that’s all there is. The charges against Donald Trump are almost exactly as predicted. They are weak and, most important, political. As such, they are shockingly-blatant punishment for Trump daring to become president. In this sordid case, the letters D.A. stand for Democrat Attorney. The charges are the crime. Shame on Bragg for abusing his authority and turning his office into a partisan outpost.

Gov. Ned Lamont is back from the men's college basketball Final Four and basking in UConn's resounding victory — but apparently wasn't the biggest fan of the city that hosted the event. Asked Wednesday on WPLR's Chaz & AJ in the Morning to describe the scene after UConn's win over San Diego State, Lamont began with a comment on the city of Houston. "You walk around downtown Houston, which is butt ugly, not much there..." the governor began, before the highly amused hosts cut him off. "You know that's going to be tweeted," one of them said, laughing. "Get ready to hear from Houston. Houston, we have a problem."

This is going to go on to three prosecutors for a year and a half, with the intent of getting just enough empathy for Donald Trump that he will be nominated and then see him gag-ordered and maybe even seeing him incarcerated to nullify

Pence is poised to recount for the first time under oath his direct conversations with Trump leading up to January 6, 2021, when Trump pressured him unsuccessfully to block the 2020 election's result and may have been acting corruptly, according to sources who have explained the judge's ruling.
