As member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) prepare to gather in Switzerland next week to negotiate final terms of an accord that will give the WHO centralized authority over U.S. policy in the case of a pandemic, Republican senators are pushing back with an effort to reinforce congressional power to authorize treaties.
The draft accord, which would be “legally binding” on all 194 member nations, gives the WHO the authority to declare pandemics and submits member countries to “the central role of the WHO as the directing and coordinating authority on international health work,” in areas like lockdowns, treatments, medical supply chains, surveillance,

You can bet that if that 'accord' is signed by the Biden admin a pandemic will follow shortly thereafter. I believe it is another part of a scheme to completely destabilize the West in general and the US in particular.

Collectivist lies. Believers that any narrative is an adequate substitute for objective truth. Indeed, under the theory objective truth doesn’t exist. Unfortunately the US electorate has been educated down to the degree any narrative repeated long enough will do, anesthetized by fetishized sex and legal narcotics. Continuing on this course is the end of the species, as the global kakistocracy rules. In prose, Orwell anticipated it in too many citations to repeat, in poetry Yeats:
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

As usual, my two Senators, Miss Lindsey and Tim Scott are nowhere to be seen on the list!
I thought moving to SC from NJ would finally give me good Senators. Sadly, I respect Booker and Menendez more. At least I knew they were going to screw the residents of NJ. Graham and Scott go with the wind while proclaiming their conservative principles.

Many Republican senators will do the right thing if, and only if, the issue gets a lot of public attention.

The problem is the Supreme Joke of the United States has ignored the clear language in the Constitution and given the Executive branch the power to sign and implement treaties without the Senate. Clearly our Supreme joke is a Joke!

Republican Senators pushing back against the surrender of our sovereignty ? Does Mitch McConnell know this? When he finds out I am sure he will punish these freedom loving extremists.

# 8, as long as we have Democrats and RINO go-alongs for presidents, the WHO's agenda will be enforced.

FTA: "...the WHO accord is drafted specifically to circumvent the Senate-approval process, and Congress instead should immediately withhold its yearly contributions to the WHO and take the United States out of the organization."
FTA: Increasingly, the Biden administration is looking toward international agreements to do what it can’t get be achieved through Congress.
In other words, this administration prefers to go around the American people and their elected representatives. They simply dictate who gets to run things, and Americans have no say. That's not the way our system is supposed to run, and that is why establishment politicians and donors hated Donald Trump and his America First agenda.
We might want to ask, as George Washington did, why we should “entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition...”

This is a very bad idea, and I think it would be a treaty which would require the Senate to vote on it.

The Democrats' plan - treaty or no treaty - is that the U.S. federal government will enforce whatever "mandates" and/or mere "recommendations" issued by the WHO regarding pandemics. Throughout the Unted States, petty clueless employees and volunteers in states, counties, townships, municipalities, school districts, colleges, universities, etc., will blithely follow suit and assert, "We're merely following the WHO."
