Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH) nominated Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for the speakership Wednesday on the fifth speakership ballot, after the fourth did not produce a victor.
Davidson highlighted a laundry list of concessions that McCarthy promised many Republicans who have repeatedly voted against him, and he urged those members to rally behind the California representative.
“We’re on the precipice of such a destructive argument today. I plead with all, all of my Republican colleagues, let cooler, more rational heads prevail. Let us unite as Republicans to elect the next speaker of the House,” said Davidson.
He then asserted that 20 of his colleagues, many of whom are part of

FTA: "I plead with all, all of my Republican colleagues, let cooler, more rational heads prevail. Let us unite as Republicans to elect the next speaker of the House,” And this invariably leads to the surrendering rino fools giving in to everything the demonrats want. Just look at the last 30-40 years in Congress. McCarthy is a known rino. Why would anyone trust him?

Yes, the other 200 should switch their votes to an American.
After failing *5* times you'd think they'd all figure it out. He's not acceptable.

What everyone fails to point out here is that the Republicans voting against McCarthy are exercising their Constitutional rights. The idiots on Fox News are supporting McCarthy 100%. His history of siding with liberals isn’t even mentioned. They just keep hammering on the 90% vs the 10%. It doesn’t work that way. At this point McCarthy needs to withdraw for the good of the Party. He can’t win. The game is over. Very disappointed in Fox that they can’t wrap their brains around this. Shame on them.

McCarthy is not to be trusted. He can promise all the changes conservatives want, but once in the Speakers chair and Democrats start massaging him, he will go wobbly. This is not what we want, a wobbly RINO running the House. McCarthy is known for saying stupid things to reporters in the hallway. We need someone who can who can tell media lefties to "shove it" and walk away. I do not know if any Republican has the balls to do that, but hope springs eternal.

Lauren Boebert helped Hannity make a foolish bully of himself again this evening. Why do I keep going back to that program, when I always end up changing to Newsmax shortly after starting.

All the "concessions" listed are inside the beltway process detail that none of the conservative voters know about, because they are chicken feed for the chickens. We have gotten nothing on a plan to limit government spending, close the border, an energy policy, stopping the climate hoax, ending our financing of Ukraine and the Palestinians, ending medical tyranny, issuing subpoenas, allowing bill amendments. In other words, we have gotten the same thing McConnell gave when asked for a plan, which was a chuckle.

"...let cooler, more rational heads prevail..." what a stupid remark. So they are more superior to pubbies who chose to vote no on McCarthy. They are so much more intelligent then the pubbies...more intellectual than the American people who are sick and tired of the mealy mouthed rinos supporting McCarthy. We the people do not know what goes on "behind closed doors" day in and day out. All the political nonsense. Deception. Oh, but as Rep Davidson said...I plead with all, all of my Republican colleagues, let cooler, more rational heads prevail. Patooey.

When you call the Chaos Republicans standing in the way of Kevin terrorists and enemies of the state, and you then expect them to vote for you, that is hubris. Kevin should get out of his own way. He's not going to be Speaker.

What do those concessions mean to the average American. Why not do a contract with America that is something we all care about like Newt Gingrich did several years ago - - Border Security, the economy, inflation, getting the woke out of the military and the schools. energy independence, term limits. That would get the attention of the American people and get him some support.

#9, I would agree but that would be contingent on Republicans keeping their word. Who do you trust more, McCarthy or someone like Jordan? Republicans play the go along to get along game with Democrats while democrats play the my way or the highway game. We need someone with a real backbone committed to the people and this country, and one who will not be rolled by establishment Rinos, the deep state and lobbyists.

Why should anyone believe that McCarthy will honor his promises? If he gets back the gavel he will use it to cudgel any and all those that oppose his rule.

The Dems can end this at any time by voting for a Republican.
Perhaps we would all be better off letting this drag out for months and see who blinks first.

Who nominated McCarthy in the first place? Same for McConnell. Who said it's McCarthy or McConnell or nobody? Why aren't there more candidates for this position? It's not really an election if only one person is running for an office, and why doesn't anyone else want the job? If some senile 80 year old can manage the position, how difficult can it be? Of course, Piglosi didn't have to contend with people having different opinions. The demosluts walk in lock step with the one goal of destroying the country.
