Amidst a wasteland of absolute trash coming out of Hollywood over the last several years, Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” has become a saving grace for television watchers everywhere. It’s gritty, it’s visually stunning, it’s fun, and most of all, it’s not woke. There aren’t any explicitly leftwing narratives being shoved down the audience’s throat when you watch “Yellowstone” or its equally well-done prequels, “1883” and “1923.” In fact, there’s a rather conservative bent at times throughout the franchise, though Sheridan is loathe to allow his work to be defined along political lines. For example, the latest season of “Yellowstone” has the Duttons converting a rabid environmentalist from her misguided secular religion.

Maybe it is a great show, but I refuse to watch ANY show that has 14 minutes of commercials in a half hour. That's right folks. Every half hour gives you 16 minutes of entertainment and it's why sports events take so long. Even when you record a show, you need an active thumb to get through the incessant commercials. So, I'll miss viewing "Yellowstone", but it will not have an impact on my life.

I cringe every time I hear the f-bomb in the Yellowstone dialog. I don't mind once-in-a-while use of it, but it is excessive, and offensive, in the show. Also, real Montanans know how to pronounce the word "coyote."

Well, Mr. Sheridan made it clear recently that Yellowstone is "not a red-state show", and stated that those who think it is are missing the point, so....sorry, Bonchie, but I think you don't fully get the point.

There are plenty of "Reasons" that Yellowstone is by far and away the favorite current show on TV... a couple of "Ahems" though with Bonchies piece..."Stolen Land"? in the show(as in real life pioneering times) the land in question was granted to the Duttons by the natives that only used it as an occasional hunting area, which they were told they would always be welcome to do. The Chief/Medicine Man that told them where/how to find this particular valley, that granted them the place...also stated "In 7 generations my Grandchildren will take it back" Also...One of the scripts was a troop of Cavalry riding through looking for the Plains LAST heard of Buffalo to slaughter...The Duttons told them there were NONE anywhere nearby, though they had a secret herd back in a remote valley. One Yellowstone Park was created they moved that secret herd there to live under permanent protection. While Libs may HATE the fact that "normal People" like the show...they are strangely quiet about CNN's(and Jane Fond's) Ted Turner actually owns in REAL LIFE a MUCH larger ranch, or collection of much larger ranches that constitute MORE land mass in several western states than anyone BUT the Federal Govt, more land than the "Natives" hold. The main purpose of said holdings seem to be to collect $BILLIONS every year in Farm Tax Subsidies, which he then uses to buy up even MORE land. He is merely the largest of several East Coast, Chicago, West Coast Billionaires that have been/are doing much the same thing. In Fact several years ago when wildfires were sweeping the West, one of the Largest of several massive fires was primarily on Ted Turners land, where he then received $Millions more in disaster relief funds, once Govt workers put the fires out...and unlike the surrounding land owners, he didn't even send a lunch truck out to feed those guys.

Oh...speaking of "Iconoc/Populasr" TV series, I have been watching hours at a time of the "West Wing" marathon. One of the GREAT TV shows of all time, I was working in National Politics at that time, for conservatives, and the ONLY time during the week where NO ONE was available, was the hour that show was on...Dems and Repubs both. Yes, it's writers/staff were mainly Dems, but it wasn't Jingo/propaganda/Pablum. It still stands the test of time...because it was good storylines, smart, witty, dedicated, likable, multidimensional characters, discussing and fighting over REAL issues in a Real way, with a fairly realistic depiction of how DC works...By the way, Lucianne liked it, too.

If you think Yellowstone has excessive profanity, just compare it to 'Deadwood'. Actor Ian McShane's dialogue was heavily laced with more profanity in one or two episodes than in most of Yellowstone's run. I couldn't watch more than 3 episodes of Deadwood.

They don't like anything that might come close to celebrating what makes America great. Example: Tom Cruise supposedly didn't get a Golden Globe nomination for his movie Top Gun: Maverick but Brad Pitt did for that celebration of all things immoral in Hollywood called Babylon. Haven't watched any of Yellowstone yet myself, but I hear it is pretty decent, all things considered.

I enjoy Yellowstone, but it is not immune from liberal rants. Most notably, Kacy’s wife purported to read from Columbus’s logbook when he arrived in America. She claimed he introduced slavery and weapons, with evil white people infecting Eden. This is a common slander and misquote. Reality (and accurate quite) was the people he first met were escaped slaves from another tribe in desperate need of weaponry to defend themselves against the native slavers.

I can't stand the daughter/sister. She was so irritating with her big mouth. She thought she could face down men because she was an angry woman (season 2, I think), but got the snot beat out of her and had to be saved by a man. There's definitely some low morality in this show. The Indian girl is annoying as well. And the complaints from the Indians is annoying as well. They seem to blame paleface for everything when they have all that power and control over the land they possess. They keep talking about getting all their land (Yellowstone) back. I don't mind Kevin Costner, but I never thought he was a great actor. He hasn't improved much over the years.

You remember this one. Last April, Florida put an end to the special status originally granted to Disney World back in 1967. The whole battle began after Disney decided to criticize the “Parental Rights in Education” bill which DeSantis had signed in March. Here’s a bit of background on the deal that was repealed. Since 1967, Disney has received tax and regulation exemptions for an area known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District. The exemption in effect allows Disney to govern itself on Disney World grounds, including having its own fire department and board of supervisors, as well as its ability to oversee land and environmental regulations.
