GOP leader Kevin McCarthy confronted Representative Matt Gaetz (R., Fla.) on the House floor on Friday evening after the California Republican lost his 14th bid for speaker.
Gaetz voted “present,” leaving McCarthy just one vote away from a win.
McCarthy could be seen making an animated last-minute appeal to Gaetz as the votes were tallied. Gaetz could been seen pointing a finger at McCarthy. After McCarthy walked away, Representative Mike Rogers of Alabama began to approach Gaetz. He was held back by fellow lawmakers. McCarthy received 216 votes in the latest round, while Representative Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.Y.) won 212 votes. Two McCarthy opponents voted for

McCarthy is speaker on the 15th vote. And Rep. Mike Rogers of Alabama had to be physically restrained from going after Rep Gaetz after the 14th vote. It seems like I'd not trust Mr. Rogers in the future if he is so nearly violent supporting McCarthy. Sounds like Rogers is a Deep State lover, but I'll have to learn more about him before I can make a judgement.

I’m unaware of any legislative accomplishments Matt Gaetz has done. After his incoherent attempt to sabotage the Republican win of the House it is unlikely that we will hear much of anything from him for a while.
I was initially opposed to the actions of those voting to deny McCarthy the speakership but I was wrong. It was good that his opponents extracted some great concessions. They all, including the odious Gaetz, deserve credit for improving the operation of the House.
Good for Mike Rogers for his anger towards a self-promoter whose day in the sun has ended.

To make an omelette, you have to break a few eggs. If McCarthy tries to be the Republican version of Pelosi, he will not last long. We are all tired of business as usual in Congress.

To #3 - Kudos to Matt Gaetz for his waging war against the corrupt, liberty killing, totalitarian, dysfunctional republican party. Instead of bashing him you should be thanking him as one of the few republicans who actually was not afraid to fight against the Swamp and try to force real changes as to how the Speaker has way too much power in the House, which has turned into a rubber stamp of the Democrat Death Democrats and a feeding trough of corruption for all the members of the House. I can also certainly understand Mr. Gaetz's loathing and anger against a communist Uniparty that tried to destroy him by fabricating and bringing false sex charges against him.
Thank You, Matt.
As for Mike Rogers - He revealed himself as just another republican clown stooge who is part of the Swamp. He was just angry because he couldn't make any insider trading stock purchases while McCarthy was being forced to promise real changes which now that he is Speaker he will never keep. He will betray us because that is what republicans do.
In regards to being unaware of any legislative accomplishments of Matt Gaetz, please name one legislative accomplishment of any republican in the House that is a real benefit to our Country and We the People in the last 30 years. The republicans have failed us on every front.
We are at a real breaking point regarding our freedoms and we need every single warrior who is willing to go against the communist cabal in place over us.
Thank you Matt Gaetz for your efforts.

It seems Mike Rogers has gone full NAZI, "If you don't vote for whom I choose , I'm gonna kill you!" What an ass! He most certainly doesn't belong in the Government of the United States.

Look at the grip McCarthy has on Matt's arm!
Reminds me of movie where the mob boss goes after the snitch in his crew.
Love the look on Matt's face!

The GOP is not a stable Party. By the looks of the "likes" here, half of you are RINOs and half of you are Republicans. I spend more and more time on GAB and less and less time here. I enjoy talking with Conservatives, RINOs, not so much.

Hopefully the McCarthy supporters out here will have the grace to keep silent when he consistently caves to the Democrats, Trey Gowdy's any show trial "investigation" that he may have promised, and otherwise betrays the base. As he will.

Trey Gowdy hasn’t been in Congress for years. He is a talking head on Fox News. He definitely was useless when he was there. All talk no action.

"Trey Gowdy" has become a verb and a description out here, #14. All rat terrier yapping and phony former prosecutor indignation, all bull, no results. Little swamp rat.

Still waiting for Trey Gowdy to call in Eric Holder to Congress for Fast and Furious, said he would pursue it as as soon as the budget deal is settled (2012?).....still waiting.

#3, Matt Gaetz, along with Marjorie Taylor-Greene, are the only two Congresspeople who have been relentlessly engaged in the fact that hundreds of innocent Americans have been left to rot in a DC jail for 2 years, suffering horrific abuse at the hands of their jailers. I’ll take that over yet another useless bill put forward by “elected leaders” who could give a rat’s behind about anyone their laws will affect.
