Several Senate Democrats may be considering retiring rather than facing a potentially bruising 2024 re-election campaign.
While Democrats performed better than expected in the 2022 midterm elections, the 2024 election cycle — where Democrats will be defending seats in several battleground states — could have a far different outcome.
In what could be the first of many similar announcements, Michigan Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow announced last week she will not seek re-election in 2024. Stabenow's decision to conclude her decades-long Senate career in 2025 provides Republicans with a pickup opportunity.

OP is correct. I think Stabenow is retiring while the Dems have complete control of the State of Michigan. There aren't any checks and balances, so its a perfect time to steal whatever they want while denying they are stealing.

Dont hand us that BS. Thats the same thing they said before they allowed the most recent election theft. The democrats are going to steal 2024 and the republicans wont lift a finger to stop it because they are cowards and/or paid off.

Another Senator to watch is Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio. Ohio is no longer a purple state and is becoming a red state. Unlike a lot of other states, Ohio doesn't allow ballot boxes, ballot harvesting, Dominion, or dead voter rolls that Democrats can exploit. Each election judge committee has to have an equal number of Dems and Republicans. It's a clean state.

I'd love to see Little Timmy Kaine gone. You know that geeky wimp was the nerdy kid at school who was given wedgies and had his lunch money stolen every day. As a Virginian, I'm totally embarrassed to have him as one of my Senators. And the Rats' bench in the Commonwealth is completely depleted. I can't think of a one with state-wide name recognition strong enough to run for Senate. I guess they'll have to run someone like Carpetbagger McAwful again.

Stabenow is a leftist, totally out of touch, condescending elitist. It is a national disgrace that she holds an elective office at any level. I agree with posts above, and am prepared for narrow losses in all these races.

Mike Rowe for The Hag's soon to be empty seat. He's got more name recognition than Ronaldus Maximus & more common sense than Ben Franklin. It's a Dirty Job, Mike, but you are well suited to make San Francisco & Northern Cali Great Again!

#8, are you thinking of Diane Fineswine? She is 89, best as she can remember, and prefers Chinese spy staffers and limo drivers.

Why would they retire? The worse that can happen is REbublicans take the Senate. Then McConnell will be the he'd of the Dem senators.

And of course they'll get a cushy fedddrill goobermint retirement at oppressed taxpayers' expense.

Very few (if any) will retire. Senators stick around until the Grim Reaper knocks on the door.

It is really somewhat immaterial because most of the r's in Senate are no different than the d's.

I really hate someone trying to lay out a case that dems have anything to worry about in elections. It insults my intelligence.

Don't wait, resign today and avoid the rush. Take your malfunctioning president with you. Even Harris will do less damage.

Who cares if a Dem "retires"?
In addition to simply voting for other than a Dem, the biggest challenge is to PRIMARY OUT each and every RINO who is also up for re-election.

Never underestimate 'Turtle' McConnell. If there's any way to keep those seats blue, he's the RINO that can do it!

There is no one in MitchMcConnells stable that would beat Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin.
A self created conservative, even a transplant, could win Wisconsin.

Democrats, not to worry. Election fraudsters, bouncing happily from Arizona, will once again steal the election. Biden, running for reelection while drooling in a wheelchair in the sunroom at his Delaware mansion, will again get the most votes in history. Complainers will be tagged by the Democrat media as sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigots. Oops, forgot homophobes, islamophobes and misogynists.

I don't know why these six would be worried. I am sure that Mitch McConnell, Ronna Romney McDaniel and "Pierre DeLecto" will do every thing in their power that these six Democrat Senators retain their seats in that august body.

Don't worry. Minority Mitch will save them and his Minority Leader position.

They will win each one by voter fraud. If you don’t think they can’t, you’re unaware that they’re above the law in a country that doesn’t apply laws to them or their constituents. The Constitution means nothing in this Country nor will it begin to for the Dems.
