John Bolton wants to make foreign policy great again. And he really, really, really wants to challenge Donald Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Welcome to 2023, y’all. This is how the new year will go. Republicans without a chance in the world of becoming the Republican nominee will begin to come out of the woodwork and tell some news outlet that they will run for president. It’s going to be 2015 all over again.
In this case, John Bolton told Good Morning Britain, of all places, that he will indeed challenge Donald Trump for the GOP nomination. Bolton is 74 years od now and shouting from the rooftops

There is usually someone/something behind these kinds of announcements trying to achieve a strategic political goal - like reducing Trump's chances of getting the nomination. Look for who is behind this curtain.

John Bolthead is just greedy for some of that good old campaign cash which you never have to return and are free to use. Another one of these deep swamp rats who makes a very good living off of various regimes both domestic and foreign while accomplishing absolutely nothing of note. Another disastrous personnel pick by President Trump who, it seems like the norm, is betraying him. This has always seems to me to be one of President Trump's greatest weaknesses.

Inadvertently, you bet, do you think that the wimpy Republicans could ever suck up the intestinal fortitude to retaliate against the corrupt leftist Democrats? Not a chance!

Go away. I'm not interested. Bolton makes a good commentator, but he's not a good candidate for President.

“Bombs Away” Bolton will self destruct in a blaze of glory. He can run with Liz Cheney or Chris Christy. Perfect. Good luck with that John. Let us know how it works out to help market your new book deal you are working on.

I’m stunned too. Stunned that he would be egotistical enough to think anyone outside his family would vote for him. And they may not either.

I will give him a listen, but doubt he is what this country needs. Reminds me of Jeb Bush. On second thought, definitely no.

# 8, we ought to keep in mind that PDJT was a genuine outsider who had to rely in some measure on the advice of D.C. insiders. That this led to some bad advice and poor personnel choices is not, in retrospect, surprising. That he failed to appreciate the true depth of the Deep State is not a weakness within him.
